I've been using classpass for almost 2 months now and at this point it's just so I can come here. All of the girls are so sweet even though I'm always running in at the last second. Despite not being as knowledgeable as a lot of the yogis there, I never feel judged by them. Even all of their clients are so kind. This place just has amazing energy- it is so warm and welcoming. I will say: the sculpt class is no joke. That was the first one I tried, and I did get through it, but if you're a beginner it's a little insane. I'm happy to know that once I get the hang of things, they have class options that will challenge me that much, though. If you know some stuff, you can probably start with C2, but C1 is a great intro course if you're brand new. Hope that helps someone. Definitely hoping to become a regular here :) read more

I've been practicing yoga at CorePower Yoga in Fort Collins since January 2020, attending approximately 300 classes spanning various styles, from Yin and Myofascial Release to C2 and C3. I am a 200-hour Vinyasa YTT graduate from a Forrest Yoga Guardian Teacher through Yoga Pod Denver West (now called ALIGN Yoga). I have consistently practiced daily for the past 7 years. I have grown to appreciate and trust both the studio and its instructors. Over the past 2.5+ years, I have made genuine connections with several teachers, including Tressa B., Cassandra H., Andissyn, Sarah Sc., Shelby, Katie Kr., Cheyenne B., and many more. Tressa B. possesses a truly dynamic, empowering, and creative teaching style that has deeply resonated with me from the first class. With 16 years of experience at CPY, a 200-hour Hot YTT, a 200-hour Power YTT, 100-hour Anusara YTT, it is clear that Tressa possesses a profound understanding of the 8 limbs of yoga. Additionally, Tressa is not just a yoga teacher; she's also a certified massage therapist. This diverse skill set, paired with her credentials, extensive experience, and continuous desire for learning, makes her a true "teacher's teacher." One thing that stands out about Tressa is her unwavering respect for her students. She values their individual journeys and encourages them to practice in a way that feels right for their unique needs. I went back through my history on CPY and discovered that I have taken nearly 50 of *just* Tressa's classes. As a student who has spent countless hours being guided and cued by Tressa, I've consistently found her classes to excel, emphasizing the essential connection between breath and movement. Moreover, following a car accident I was in in 2020, I had to modify my yoga practice to accommodate my injuries, which included chronic Sciatica. When I was experiencing my chronic symptoms of pain, I would inform teachers about it before class. Tressa, in particular, always cues and encourages modifications to make your practice what you need. She would also give me recommendations 1:1 to help alleviate my pain. I've overheard other students chatting and expressing their admiration for certain teachers multiple times. Just last week, I overheard a couple of women (one was nervous for class because it was her first time) chatting about Tressa and how she is her favorite teacher of all time. The other woman kindly reassured the "newbie" that Tressa teaches a phenomenal class and encourages what feels right. That being said, I would not be a member and student of CPY if Tressa B. was not an instructor there. She welcomed me. She empowered me. I love the brand and studio experience overall and rate them 5 stars. However, I have to share a 1 star instructor review out of concern that others may have the experience I did. In yoga classes, not just those at Corepower, but other brands, we are often encouraged to "take what we need", to "listen to our bodies", and to prudent modifications where necessary since, after all, it is "our practice" (as paying customers). Towards this end, I had a rather intriguing experience at a recent 2pm C2 class taught by Tressa. Immediately after final poses and relaxation, during which time I added additional movements that I seemed to need (something I did at different times during class as well) I was first out of the studio door for my usual shower. Waiting for me was Tressa. On the couch immediately opposite the door was Tressa, staring rather intently. She made a bee-line for me to inform me that I am "really distracting" and that there is a difference between "taking what I need" and doing my "own thing". This distinction was never explained to me. What also didn't happen was an initial inquiry about how class was, how everything felt, the reasoning for my modifications, or, to be honest, any attempts at what might resemble curiosity to build rapport with a human. She seemed intent on chastising me, perhaps like a school child who was throwing crayons during class. At the end of this encounter I asked, for my own clarity's sake, "So, I should move less?", to which she responded "Yes". Having not been made more clear on what the boundaries for modifications are, whether it was a personal policy of hers, a studio policy, or a company policy, I was confused as to how a person is supposed to make it through a class. Not every class and routine will be perfectly tailored to every single person in the room at the pace offered by the instructor in an objectively uniform way. Surely this is common knowledge. At another studio in Denver, I often lag behind because the instructor does these long slow flows with no rest that are awesome but hard. I've attended yoga classes for the last sixteen years across many states, mostly California and New York, and have taken classes as various Denver Metro and Northern Colorado Corepower studios in the recent years. I've been in classes where people literally lie on the floor and rest or sleep, classes where one or more people do handstand drills and inversion practice the whole time, and one class where a person was even breakdancing in between poses. I though it was funny but he was pretty good. Surely some people this distracting but it does beg a question; Are these individuals universally and objectively distracting, or is it possible that a person can choose or allow themselves to be distracted by the external environment? For yoga to carry over into daily life, it seems that it cannot realistically occur in a perfect, choreographed class treated as a teacher's personal fiefdom. Speaking for myself, I am a male, which biases me toward stiffness. I have particular conditioning goals and a rather extensive injury history so I aim to modify routines to make sure that my $160 monthly membership fee is put to the highest and best use with every class I attend. It'd be all too easy to take from this that neither I nor my practice is welcome or to be included. If this is what lies in wait for class participants who make modifications in Tressa's classes, I cannot in good faith recommend a class with her. It appears that should you fall out of sync with others in the class you run the risk of having your own angry principle moment. Simply put, I'd hate for another person to finish class having hopefully achieved a more relaxed and empowered state only to be hounded upon leaving. As someone who has spent the better part of almost years in fitness environments, I am hard pressed to not question the credentials of instructors that issue directives against doing what is biomechanically beneficial and/or deemed needed by the person themselves. read more

I like this studio a lot, however, there are a good bit of classes that tend to feel very cosmic goddessy. I don't get it, or like it, it's not what yoga is about. It feels very dark and serious and ritualistic and the music.... If you want to chant at the moon naked under the Capricorn sign cool, but that is not yoga- not even close!!! On that note, there are other instructors that keep it real and inspiring, I just wish they taught more! read more

Checked out CorePower earlier today with their "free week of yoga" promo. I decided to go to the 12 PM CorePower Yoga 2 with Sarah, and I absolutely LOVED it! It's been awhile since I've practiced hot yoga or Bikram, and I'd almost forgotten how much I love it. Sarah is a great instructor, very steady and firm yet encouraging. And the entire studio was bright and welcoming with very clean locker rooms and yoga rooms. I'm definitely going to try to get the most out of my unlimited free week and will be back every day (and then venture into possible class packages or a membership)! read more

I went to my first class C1 Core Power Yoga on a free week trial membership. The class was with the instructor Jessica. Her music was fantastic. Modern songs remixed to fit the setting. She was a great instructor who was very friendly and gave some extra attention to the new person who was looking around at everyone else's poses and still not doing it correct. (The new guy was me :) ) I appreciated the extra attention. I had not taken a yoga class before this. She also invited new students to introduce themselves to her at the end of the class which was very welcoming. The class was both a workout and relaxing. The facility was very clean and modern. I like that they have the same classes early and later in the day since my work schedule changes. I can't wait to go back. read more

Today during HPF Ashley reminded me of this by staying when I was the only one and guiding me through my practice. CorePower yoga is great for the intermediate to advanced yogi looking for a hot yoga studio. I am a fan, however, beware that there is inevitably a portion of the clients who are more into competitive, look at my body yoga. To each there own! This tends to be more of a fitness class, which I enjoy and certainly has it's place. I just smile and carry on with my mom bod and inflexible hips. The instructors are always very friendly and some of the classes cater very well to beginners or more advanced depending on your preference. The lemon lavender scented cool towel at the end is a total highlight! read more

Then when I ask to join the class I came for and now it's 5 mins later and you refuse my entry because you talked that long and then offer a lower level class - you didn't help me. Corepower has a clean facility, tons of classes, and a nice environment. However, there is no system of keeping their teachers in check. They can make solely focused on the workout if they wish, or turn it into some weird spiritual sexual exploration. The majority of the teachers are focused on vague psuedo-buddhism and spirituality. No thank you. If they would focus more on yoga as a time to work out and meditate (without trying to 'guide' you in your meditation) it would be much better. Beside that, the pro-shop is a rip off and the women are somewhat gossipy and passive aggressive. read more

I think this place deserves another review. :) I have taken three classes here so far and will update my review as I continue. I have taken Hot Power Fusion, which has some Bikram aspects but with variation, and also the Corepower 1 class, which is an intro Vinyasa class. So far all the instructors have been very supportive and knowledgable, and it seems to me like the format of classes is pretty controlled. Everyone is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. It is crowded with regards to parking, and the locker room can be a bit nuts after a large class. I choose to head straight home for my shower instead of fighting with others for the four showers they have there. So far I am really enjoying my experience at Corepower. My #1 favorite thing is the variety of classes and times they have available, I can find a ton to fit my schedule! read more

Good instructors who are challenging, but let you practice at your pace. Lots of different choices for classes. They did not verbally critique in front of the rest of the class, like some yoga instructors do. That's humiliating. I have been in some other studios where the instructors constantly tell you what you're doing wrong. read more

I have been to many yoga studios and have never had such a disappointing experience. The lack of professionalism was appalling. When I walked in I wasn't even greeted and on my way to the dressing room the door to the office was wide open and at least 3-4 people were in there with their feet up snacking and it wasn't hard to overhear a conversation that involved gossip. This is an expensive studio to invest in and what you get isn't worth the money. Its full of cliquey women who are ill mannered. They teach one thing in classes and act another way the moment they step out of the classroom. Not to mention they teach the same classes over and over again with no variety. read more

I have spent 1 month with CorePower and give it 5 stars for the following reasons: *Flexible Schedule - I so need options! I am busy and cannot commit to a Yoga studio with limited class options. I can go any time between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm. So great! *Multiple Locations - I travel between Ft. Collins and Denver. I have made classes in Ft. Collins, Boulder and Broomfield. I so appreciate finding a class when and were I need it....no where else have I found this option. *Great Work Out - I want to sweat and workout every muscle. Yep. *Friendly & Open - I hate elitist Yoga - so unnecessary! I appreciate warmth and openness. So far, that has been my experience at all three locations. CorePower gets 5 starts because it provides what I need most. For others, you may consider.... ....there is a wide variety of skill level between teachers. For me, this isn't an issue, as, it is MY practice - I will learn, grow and sweat, regardless. I DO appreciate when I have a more skilled teacher. And, if this is a primary need, I would make sure you find one within CorePower and stick with that teacher, or go elsewhere. ....Some classes border on Calisthenics vs. Yoga. For me, this is OK, as I can pick and choose and mix things up. However, if you want a more straightforward learning path to your Yoga practice - this may not be the place. Fort Collins Corepower is amazing! I have been going to this studio for about 5/6 years now. I have seen this studio go through many changes and have had the opportunity to meet and take many different instructors. I love that Corepower has a dynamic group of instuctors that each have a different teaching style and presence to their class. They are very warm and friendly, no need to be scared if it's your first time. They do offer a free week which is great as a yoga studio so that you can try out multiple types of classes and instructors to see if it is the right fit for you. I wish I could tell you my favorite instructors but they are all truly amazing! read more

Facility is very clean. Classes cancelled a lot, and I need to know my schedule weekly...Im a planner. We all pay for the membership. Can't you run the classes with just a couple in attendance? The staff has to be there for the other classes running. Also, when a class is full, most early evening classes, let it be full. Don't try and cram more people in ruining the experience for those who planned ahead and got there early. read more

While the memberships are a little pricey, they do give you a free week and there are four classes each week for free, referred to as "community classes." Look out, though, the one on Friday gets CROWDED. But all in all, the teachers are friendly and care about your practice. Melissa and Chrissy have been particularly helpful to me, personally, and I really appreciate the time they take to talk to you one-on-one. They really do try to spend as much time with each student as possible, and when classes are smaller, you get a little more face time with the instructor. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Kylie, as well, who teaches the community classes the first half of the week. She's been supportive to me, too. The facilities are great, and they do a great job of promoting a healthy space to practice. I'm really glad I found this place and plan on being a regular here for a long time to come. The only reason I give it 4 stars versus 5 is I have nothing else to compare it to as this is the first place I tried here. But I see no reason to look elsewhere. read more
