Set within the quiet suburb of Yarralumla comes a beautifully and carefully designed connoisseur shop. Notice the lack of "Bottle Shop" mentions, that's because this particular store was fundamentally rooted in both passion and product. It housed a huge library of wines, able to satisfy even perhaps the most particular wine lovers around, and doesn't shy away from stocking very sought after, yet uncommon, spirits such as The Farmer's Wife Gin. But perhaps the most attractive quality of this store was its personality. Having had a very brief conversation with one of its employees, I was pleasantly surprised that the owner regularly hosts local wine tasting nights. From what I could recall the owner would showcase wines from all over Australia, meaning a breadth of wineries were able to be featured. Having newly opened in this pleasant suburb of Yarralumla, the Cork & Glass has, in my mind, already become a small gem.
