This spot is a pretty typical small-town liquor store, but we were disappointed with the local selection. We only saw a few bottles of one local wine, and some Quaff ON! beer, but that was it. We were hoping for a larger selection, but they didn't have much beyond the standard fare. Prices will run you a bit higher than at a larger liquor store, but that's expected given that this is a smaller town and this is the only liquor store we saw in the area. So, if you're in the need for a liquor/beer run, it may be this or a gas station, unless you want to stop by an actual winery, brewery, or distillery in the area. We did end up purchasing a koozie though, because B loves them and we liked the cutesy name of this spot.

I generally have low expectations for Indiana wines, and this was pretty much what I expected. Of the four wines in my flight, I couldn't even finish two of them. (A shame since they charge more for a flight than any other IN winery I've been to -- $14 for 4 wines!) The Cab/Zin blend was not too bad -- better than I had expected, actually, so the tasting was off to a good start. But the dry Riesling was awful. It had a distinct funk to it. As a wine specialist, I feel like I should be able to describe it better than that, but I didn't want to keep sipping to identify the "funk" more precisely. The semi-dry Riesling was drinkable (but way sweeter than semi-dry). The "semi-sweet" Traminette was full-on, dessert wine level super-sweet and lacking any acidity to balance out the sweetness. I couldn't finish that one either because I was actually starting to feel a little sick from the intense sweetness. My husband liked the Zin in his flight, and I thought it was okay. I also tasted his blackberry wine. I usually like blackberry wines because they have acidity & tartness to balance the sweetness, but this one did not. It was just all sweet. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed the classic rock music. The winery shares space with 450 North. I can't say anything about the 450 North stuff or the restaurant because I don't like beer and we didn't get food, so the two stars is based on wine quality alone. I'm glad we stopped by so I know what it is, but we definitely won't go out of our way to visit again.

Hog Molly's is everything I like about a brewery, delicious beer, particularly their Rushin' Record Imperial Stout and Remember the Tartans Scottish Ale, beverages for non-beer drinkers, a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, and super cool, friendly, fun staff (Sarah was a blast to chat with). My only knock is that they're 10 hours away from me. And that's really a me problem. We had so much fun. I recommend visiting early and often.

However, we found out after we got there if you wanted to participate in the big green egg fest, it was an additional $20 which my wife and my friend's wife wanted to try dearly. The food was delicious. Well worth the $20 and by the way all of that went to charity so kudos to them. the unfortunate thing for us was we got there at 3:30 and got great seats however it got so crowded people were walking all over you. if you wanted a beer or a mixed drink it was well over a 30 minute wait. we ended up leaving about 6:30 PM because we were getting trampled by people and there was no way to get any thing to drink without at least a 30 minute wait. it was pretty disappointing. One last thing the music was good.

I was taken aback by the small, bite sized pieces of fish at first, but they were just fantastic. I mean perfect! My wife loved her chicken, and we both raved about the fries. It was all piping hot and very filling for a reasonable price. We sat outside and ate while listening to a good live band. It was a wonderful afternoon. I'd go back there just to eat. Great place we both highly recommend.
