After the initial adrenaline wore off, days passed, and pain became prevalent, I knew something was terribly wrong. I'd never been in a serious accident, so I was very concerned about the next steps in the process. I knew I needed an attorney, but I wasn't sure who to choose. Given my profession, I knew there were certain qualities I wanted the person representing me to have, and after googling accident attorneys in Houston, reading client reviews, and client results, I decided to call Mr. Kadlec's office and that was the best decision I've made thus far. When l initially called, Sam was the first person I spoke with, gave all the details, and voiced my concerns to. Sam was honest and upfront from the initial conversation informing me that every case was different, and unfortunately, the law office didn't take on every case, he explained that he would consult with Mr. Kadlec to see if their law office could assist my daughter and I, and that he would let me know the outcome either way. Within 24 hours, Sam reached out to me, and informed me that after consulting with Mr. Kadlec, he was pleased to announce that Mr. Kadlec could represent me in this matter. Within the first 72 hours of my initial contact, I spoke with Mr. Kadlec personally, and from beginning to end, Mr. Kadlec has always been professional, compassionate, honest, and most importantly diligent. Mr. Kadlec always told me "if you have any questions, you can always call me, and if I'm not available, you can speak with my paralegal Tram, she'll take good care of you". Normally, this is a generic statement made without any due diligence on the opposite end, but with Mr. Kadlec, this wasn't the case, and has held true from beginning to end. Tram has been amazing, and personally, my favorite person to deal with! I am a detailed oriented individual, but Tram has never had an issue with my amount of questions, or the detailed responses that I need. Tram has always been warm, friendly, understanding, and empathetic to the situation, my concerns, fears, and uncertainties, and despite the happiness I feel for my case to be resolved, I'm going to miss Tram and her sweet demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to assist. This was a very trying time for my family and I, but Mr. Kadlec and Tram made this time so much easier to deal with. Based on the reviews I'd read, it seemed most attorneys had arrogant demeanors, expected you to understand the legal terminologies, never placed themselves in your shoes, and never had time for you as an individual, and rarely as a client... I can honestly say, this was not the case for my attorney and his team. While I hope to never be involved in an accident again, the reality is I reside in the Greater Houston area, so my future endeavors are uncertain, but one thing that is certain, is that if I ever need representation in another automobile accident, I know who to call! While on bond for a manufactured felony robbery (I had four grand on me when they arrested me so…read moredidn't need to steal, and even though the store tried to make it look like a robbery by not processing the transaction the items never made it outside anyway) I got arrested for a misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. I had 15000 on me when they arrested me that time, and even though bond was set at $5000, I was not informed until after Chip sent his associate to come see me in jail. I still owed him 20 of the $40,000 fee for the felony...and the associate collected the 15 I had on me toward that when he visited. Even though he did not quote me a fee to represent on the misdemeanors the fact of an attorney visit of course implied he was trying to get me out on the charges relevant to why he was visiting me in jail rather than his office. I'd already been there a week and heard no mention of bail so took his silence on the matter to mean it had been waived on recognizance. Surprised the hell out of me that I was assigned a public defender in the days it took me to get to the phone at a time when I could reach Chip because I sorta doubt I'm eligible. But this whole ongoing fustercluck continues being an unimaginably obnoxious waste of taxpayer money anyway. I was assigned a public defender, and remained in jail for 60 days even though I'd had three times what I needed to make bond with me--and it's still not over. Writing this review now because there won't be any chance to do it if these misdemeanors Chip seems determined to let destroy the felony case (in which one can't help but notice he's using an associate to shield his own win/loss ratio) do what they've obviously been intended to all along. Despite the misdemeanor judge (Linda Garcia) setting my bond promptly after I was arrested, she and the public defender (Eugene Newsom) did not advise me of my bond until about a week after Chip sent someone to relieve me of my bail money -but not represent me-. In summary I do agree with the other reviewers that Chip knows exactly what he's doing. Whereas it's their fortunate privilege to offer that as a recommendation, from my experience thus far it's a warning.

I know he thinks that bodes well, however, I am not sure he has opened a book to study law since then. He never took any initiative to know his client or find avenues to defend him. He told my business partner not to speak, rather than letting the judge know he was valedictorian of the Bauer School of Business or has the intellect of very few people you will ever meet in your life. Instead, Fickman gave the absolute worst closing arguments I have ever heard in my life. I would call it fumble freaked it big time. The judge was never informed RELATIVE FACTS that would determine sentencing. Nor was he informed that a fine could be afforded. Instead, Fickman said in his closing argument that his client made 12K the last year he was in business. He didnt mention the last two years where he made 6 figures, and not just barely 6. He told my business partner, who had written the most intelligent response, that reflected exactly who he is and how he thinks, where he wanted to discuss the cost associated in feeding and housing a prisoner. Fickman shut that down, telling him the courts don't care about money. LIKE WHAT?!!! I would recommend him to anyone you dislike. His expertise has aged as he has. I wouldn't let him defend my dog.
