After several back and forth communications via email, responding to all questions the vet asked and trying to arrange for the vet to come and see my animals, Dr. Sergy just stopped responding. I understand he could pick and choose his clients based on any number of factors, but to leave a potential client with animals hanging/waiting (one of which had an issue I was hoping to get tended to sooner rather than later) it seems like a bad way to conduct business.

Imagine my surprise when, Just last week I received an email dismissing me from this practice! I have been taking my cats for years prior and most recently my dog to Dr. B. since 2015 and have always kept up to date, if not above and beyond required care. Never defaulted, Never cancelled, always paid in full. I think this Practice has changed it's 'tone' and is now headed into another kind of baseline of expectations; A new, more 'progressive' Vet onboard perhaps? I booked ELECTIVE (completely my Choice/Preventative-dental cleaning for overall great teeth and 2 small benign fatty lumps to be removed) surgery in June, cancelled 4-5 days(can't remember exactly) prior due to the heat wave/cone required post surgery and rebooked for mid-August. I cancelled August 3 for August 11th surgery date, due to changed summer plans to be away for that week, stating I would call to rebook in the Autumn. That's 8 Full days Notice! I had already done the PreSurgery bloodwork in June and was committed to the care. The reason given was 3 cancellations. Ummmm, No! I cancelled twice, Not 3 times, and with more than reasonable and considerate Notice. I have worked in a similar industry and suitable notice, whatever that Practice requires, does not constitute a 'Cancellation' of Note, and Client notification would be always be Best Practice before enforcing such a policy. Even with that, measuring the loss of a good, long term patient vs. dismissing a patient and risking bad 'press' (like this) and in the world, is always to be a strong consideration for any business. Of NOTE- NO Cancellation policy was, or ever has been, given or stated to me by anyone at the Practice after the first cancellation, which would have been the time to state it, and I would have understood AND only IF the cancellation(s) were short notice/ last minute. The 3 times stated include their PreMed Reminder Notices only on their calendar: As in, I was to drop in 2 days prior to pick them up. So, that should be 4 'missed appointments' if that was their rationale. Regardless, I am clearly very disappointed in this new direction that Dr. Basak and his Practice has now taken. To be fair, I will be having a conversation with him to this effect in order to clear up any misunderstandings and cannot return as the status quo of professionalism no longer stands at Speedvale Vet Hospital.

The Guelph Cat Clinic brought him back to health, and supported me through the extremely time-consuming and exhausting care it took to keep him healthy. They checked in every couple days once I brought him home to make sure he was doing okay, as well as to make sure I was okay. I will forever take Kilo and Simba to this clinic, and I would like to especially thank Dr. Farley for the amount of time and effort she put into nursing Simba back to health. I strongly recommend the Guelph Cat Clinic for their amazing staff, their empathy, and their love for cats.

He gets very scared, and becomes aggressive when fearful. Even sedation at home typically is negated by his fear. Our appointment with Dr. Farly went smoother than I could have hoped. She was very gentle, calm, and low stress for my cat. She was able to handle my cat for a thorough physical exam, and administer his vaccine without restraint. The birdcage in the exam room helped distract him just enough to prevent him from being fearful! It was amazing, and definitely well worth it. Fees are reasonable, and comparable to other clinics in the area

I have been to many places. My friend recommended this place to me. There was warm welcome to me and my dog Charlie. Dr. Panesar did through exam and examined the skin with UV light. He listed all possible reasons and different tests to rule out them and explained the associated itemized cost. He also explained me the side effects of medicines. Moreover he did not force unnecessary tests. It helped me to decide according to my budget. Now Charlie is doing much better with the medicines. No more itching!! Thanks again.

The team here is so caring and empathetic. But also importantly, they're professional and this is a well-run clinic in terms of getting in to appointments on time, getting timely reminders, and so forth. These people are saints…read more Do not let the star reviews deter you from this animal hospital. there are two sides to every story Infact, I challenge you to read any "searches" for vet recommendation in the Guelph groups. They are absolutely fabulous here. From those at the front desk, to the Vets. Dr Fleming is always going out of her way for everyone with an animal issue. any time I see someone with a concern about their pets on our groups she's always there offering her support or advice. She does this in her own time. I'll bet usually when she's watching TV with her family, or she's suppose to be sleeping. She doesn't profit from it in anyway other than the passion she gets from helping pets. Just the other week she was in Paris on vacation with her family and I sent her an email looking for a second opinion on something and she not only responded, she requested the medical findings and records so she could look them over and help me make the right choice. Again, while on vacation, in Paris, with her family. she'll give it to you straight, whether you agree or not is up to you. She is one of the most heartfelt people I have ever met and we are beyond fortunate to have her looking after our pets. You get what you pay for. They don't cut corners on medical testing, or advice. They arnt just going to throw meds at your pet and hope it fixes the issue- They do it right. I have dealt with many of the people up front, vet techs, vets, they are all amazing. What I want to review here is the fact that several errors were made and not properly corrected. Read on... Some, like giving us the wrong canned food for a dog with pancreatitis and giving us the wrong line to administer fluids subcutaneously were corrected eventually. (They replaced the canned food with the low fat version) I then very specifically asked if they also need to exchange the huge bag of the dry version of the can food to its low fat version. They said that even though the bag did not say "low fat" on it, that in fact it was low fat. That was a LIE! I found out there was a "low fat" version which contained much less fat it in when I purchased the next bag from another vet. A dog who suffered pancreatitis needs to limit fat as much as possible. Them very clearly lying proves to me that they care more about profits than the dog. I am extremely upset with them. How can they make so many errors and lie to save money! I will never go back there!

Wholeheartedly the best vet experience I have ever had, I'm so grateful I found them. They have saved the life of one of my beloved cats this summer when my regular vet basically said there's nothing else to aid in his recovery, he's doing beautifully now. Very experienced with cats in their tender approach with extra details like a warm enveloping towel/blanket to calm them ( as stress is hugely detrimental to healing in all animals, but in my experience especially cats ), handling thoroughly when examining but incredibly gently -- my most high stress cat was calm with them.
