He assumed she most likely had a slipped disc, gave her anti inflammatories and pain med. Sent us home to watch and see and if she was bad still in morning we would have to schedule surgery. She seemed to be in more pain at home making hi squeal noises. They never told us how we should hold her or position her either. I called the vet and the girl who answered could hear my dog squealing. She said she would call vet and get advice. Called us back and suggested we give her more pain meds. She died a short while after. Not once did this vet tell us to get an emergency MRI or seek emergency care. An MRI would have been more definitive in what was going on. Their assumption it was a slipped disc was based on best guesses. They should have referred us to emergency care elsewhere where MRI s are available. To me, this is an example of arrogance and not wanting to defer to another similar business that has better technology. Too bad our dog had to pay that price.

What I want to review here is the fact that several errors were made and not properly corrected. Read on... Some, like giving us the wrong canned food for a dog with pancreatitis and giving us the wrong line to administer fluids subcutaneously were corrected eventually. (They replaced the canned food with the low fat version) I then very specifically asked if they also need to exchange the huge bag of the dry version of the can food to its low fat version. They said that even though the bag did not say "low fat" on it, that in fact it was low fat. That was a LIE! I found out there was a "low fat" version which contained much less fat it in when I purchased the next bag from another vet. A dog who suffered pancreatitis needs to limit fat as much as possible. Them very clearly lying proves to me that they care more about profits than the dog. I am extremely upset with them. How can they make so many errors and lie to save money! I will never go back there!

I have been to many places. My friend recommended this place to me. There was warm welcome to me and my dog Charlie. Dr. Panesar did through exam and examined the skin with UV light. He listed all possible reasons and different tests to rule out them and explained the associated itemized cost. He also explained me the side effects of medicines. These people are saints…read more Do not let the star reviews deter you from this animal hospital. there are two sides to every story Infact, I challenge you to read any "searches" for vet recommendation in the Guelph groups. They are absolutely fabulous here. From those at the front desk, to the Vets. Dr Fleming is always going out of her way for everyone with an animal issue. any time I see someone with a concern about their pets on our groups she's always there offering her support or advice. She does this in her own time. I'll bet usually when she's watching TV with her family, or she's suppose to be sleeping. She doesn't profit from it in anyway other than the passion she gets from helping pets. Just the other week she was in Paris on vacation with her family and I sent her an email looking for a second opinion on something and she not only responded, she requested the medical findings and records so she could look them over and help me make the right choice. Again, while on vacation, in Paris, with her family. she'll give it to you straight, whether you agree or not is up to you. She is one of the most heartfelt people I have ever met and we are beyond fortunate to have her looking after our pets. You get what you pay for. They don't cut corners on medical testing, or advice. They arnt just going to throw meds at your pet and hope it fixes the issue- They do it right. I have dealt with many of the people up front, vet techs, vets, they are all amazing. After several back and forth communications via email, responding to all questions the vet asked and trying to arrange for the vet to come and see my animals, Dr. Sergy just stopped responding. I understand he could pick and choose his clients based on any number of factors, but to leave a potential client with animals hanging/waiting (one of which had an issue I was hoping to get tended to sooner rather than later) it seems like a bad way to conduct business.
