I have been attending Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas since the end of 2000. My teenage daughter drugged me, she drug me to the church. I have missed very few Sunday since. Walking into this building and feeling the presence of God brought tears of joy. It felt like "I'm home." I learned so much in the first 3 years attending. Everyone is very kind and helpful. Pastor and his wife Diana Hagee are very down to Earth. They love right here in San Antonio where it was nice and quiet until everything built up around the area they reside. I think that Pastor John Hagee is an amazing pastor. He does not mince words, what he speaks comes straight from the Bible. This is a tough church to attend because you can be convicted very easily when he is saying the Word of God. You will recognize yourself immediately as he talks. Some are not ready for that uncomfortable sensation and rebel against it by not coming back again. My daughter in love brought a young man with her to visit CS church. It was Father's Day, Pastor started speaking about men who do not take care of their children. Leave the mother's to take care of things. It was only a few minutes and this young man broke down into sobs. My husband, a Bible Study Leader at the church followed him as he walked out of the building. He spoke with him to see if there was anything he needed. He wanted forgiveness for not being the father he knew he should have been over the years. He was honest and said he was not ready to change and make the commitment to live differently. A seed was planted and later in his life it will have matured and grown and so will he have. I have never been to a church with so much committed to helping their community. There are classes for people who have been abused and how to handle finances and more. There are counselors as needed, like when there is a death, marriage counselling and even for children. With all the things this one organization does through its doors, I donate my money here and I know that it is blessed by God and will be fed to the right avenues of this community as needed. I will not give to other organization because I do not have the time to research them and know all what it does. I know putting any donations I want to give in the hands of Cornerstone Church and Pastor John Hagee and those that follow his lead that he has faith, that it will be handled properly. This church helps this community in so many ways, that are not even made public. Cornerstone Church is helpful above and beyond. Cornerstone is my church and Pastors John and Pastor Matthew Hagee are my Pastors. Both are amazing people, kind and very intelligent. They are true teachers of the Word of God straight from the Bible. They are Blessed and Highly favored by God. Both men are full of Joy in Christ Jesus. read more

My family and I attended Cornerstone for a little under two years while my husband was stationed at Ft Sam. We really liked it there. Everything that the church does is really top-notch. They have a big "Feast of Tabernacles" carnival during the fall and another carnival/family fun day during the summer (for the 4th of July I think). The rides are free and the food is reasonably priced. I have a 3 year old daughter and the nursery/children's church rooms were always well staffed and well-maintained. The parking can be crowded (especially on Sunday Morning during the later service) and traffic can back up a bit while existing, but I guess that is what you get from such a big church. To avoid this (and because I'm not a fan of getting up early on Sunday mornings) we attended the Sunday night service (called The Difference). Matthew Hagee teachs (as opposed to his father John Hagee) and we LOVED pastor Matt!!! He's more positive and laid back, and less political than his Dad. John Hagee is very straightforward and opinionated, but we are who we are and he really doesn't try to be anyone that he isn't. If you like him on TV, you'll love the church. If you don't like his style, then you might want to pass (even though the church members and the rest of the service probably won't rub you the wrong way, why set yourself up for angst?). After Sunday night service they have very reasonably priced dinner offered (called Dinner on the Grounds). It's free for 1st time guests if you get get a coupon during service. For everyone else, it's $1-$3 for a hot dog, hamber, or brisket sandwich and chips and a cookie and a drink (or they have a grilled chicken over a green salad option). Their prayer garden is lovely and a nice place to eat. On the not so good side, it is a very BIG church and it's kind of hard to get to know people. We never did join their small group ministry so that might help, but I couldn't say. I still miss Cornerstone church, my favorite usher, Matthew Hagee's preaching, and those cookies! John Hagee does not believe we should preach the gospel to the Jews. He teaches what is called "Religious Zionism." "Religious Zionism" is a belief that God has a separate covenant with Israel and another for the Gentile Church. This is unbiblical and is sometimes called a "Dual Covenant." In 1988 the Houston Chronicle carried a story about Pastor John Hagee titled, "San Antonio Fundamentalist Battles Anti-Semitism," Hagee stated in the article written by Julia Duin that he believes Jews have a special covenant with God and do not need to come to the cross for salvation. Pastor John Hagee has proven in his own words that he is disobeying the written word of GOD because it declares in Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Preaching truth isn't preaching hate. Passion doesn't mean hate. If you're looking for hand holding try many of the hand holding churches around. No man is perfect. Trump is a great president. I support him. He may say dumb stuff, but he defends my Christian values. Trump is not a racist. Securing a border doesn't make him a racist. Being against gay marriage doesn't make someone a homophobe. John Hagee is a great pastor. His son maybe even better. His "hate" is the authority he preaches. The truth should scare you. He supports Trump because like I said, Trump tries to defend Christian values, even though Trump may not be the best "Christian". someone has to protect people that truly follow God. Many/most churches are trying to coddle people, and preach around the true Gospel. Jesus saved us all. We all fall short. And guess what, we will be judged for the things we have done. Being a good person doesn't get you into heaven. Being a Christian or believer doesn't get you into heaven. A relationship with Christ does. You should take the authority of the Gospel seriously, because the world around us is constantly trying to blind us. There are many traps. There many little things the world tries to seduce us with. Be cautious. The Hagee family does not preach hate, they preach with passion and fear out of your well being. I would never go to a place that preaches hate. I saw part of Mr. Hagee's sermon this morning on TV, I changed the channel after just a couple of minutes of listening to him praise a President who fosters racism and hate. For him to say thank you to a president who cheated on his wife with not one but two porn stars, a man who has said vile disgusting words about women including his own daughter and remember there are audio recording of him saying it, a man who praises dictators (Putin and Un)who have murdered not only their rivals but thousands of innocent citizens of their own countries, a man who favors and in fact authorized the separation of innocent children from their parents, for someone to offer such praise and then call himself Christain is a sin against God. I could go on but I think I've made my point. Please Mr Hagee because you are certainly not a man of God if you endorse these sins against God don't call yourself a Christian man of values and morals. Christ who by the way was a man of color would not approve. Anyone who would follow this fake prophet is just as guilty of sins against God and Christ. I joined Cornerstone over 20 years ago. I attended church every Sunday and sat in the balcony to witness the pastors delivery of God's words. What I detected is the fact that year after year the same text was preached. I made a habit of dating each Sundays biblical text message. I am appalled at the political congressional messages John hagee mentions and how racist and biased that are. To support evil men like Trump and Putin among others is a sin in itself. I closed the chapter on his racist views when he refused to address Black Lives Matter to this date. I wonder does he wear a hood at night like the klansmen. It is obvious that he does support white supremacists groups. How can any black American attend that church. By the way hagee wants your money, no matter who you are as long as he can promote his legacy to financially grow his children and grand children. This man is a fake and I am embarrassed to say that I followed him for so long. Where are the hagee women during this pandemic episode. They are not among the maskless congregation. I read all the previous comments and I can not believe that "traffic" and teaching the congregation that sin leads to seperation for GOD is something negative for a church. Pastor Hagee is not the message but a messanger. Darkness will always be affended and shy away from the light. Cornerstone works very hard to serve San Antonio and the world and attending a service or two is not a way to evaluate this church. Every church is flawed because the church is made up of people in a fallen world. Perfection comes in heaven and God's Word is clear about how we are able to join him there. Cornerstone serves the Lord and the community wishing to follow His Word and Jesus Christ. In this very broken world I would be worried about being part of a church that doesn't get attacked by those lost persons that spend not time in prayer, the Word and being part of a community that serves in spite of their flaws. Pastors John and Mathew preach the Bible. Sometimes this conflicts with the Political parties that are in power in our country today. They are against any political party or individual that doesn't try and follow God's word. As far as being against homosexuals and abortion and same sex union, it states that these things are an abomination to the Lord. If you believe the Bible, how can you object to the Hagees saying it??? Yes we want to unite people but wouldn't it be hypocritical if the Bible was not followed? Pastor also states that he is a divorced man which is not right, but he also states that God gave us the power of choice and that we are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. I'm not a member of Cornerstone since I live on the Texas-Oklahoma border. However, I watch as much as I can get on TV and on line. Rev. John Hagee need not apologize to anyone. He preaches the Bible as written and pulls no punches. Those who are offended probably fall into the category of those he is attempting to reach. Too many churches today gloss over the truth for the sake of political correctness. As for his support of Israel, Hagee is simply teaching from the Old Testament. The Jewish people are God's chosen. Even the boundaries of Israel are outlined in the Old Testament. Thank God for ministers like John and Matt Hagee. There are few churches like this in America. This church tells it like it is. Does not "sugar coat" the gospel, like many other churches have come to. This church does not go with the flow but rather goes against anything that is against God's word. If you don't want an "in-your-face" type of message than this church is not for you. There are many cute and softy, cuttley churches around that have adjusted for this new breed. Against all odds, this church has survived many storms and thank God it's here to stay. I challenge you to listen to an entire sermon with an open mind, take a day to to ponder what you've heard, pray that spirit of God speaks to your heart.... then wait and see what God will do.
