So far we love it here! We never saw ourselves being interested in a "mega church," but out of nowhere, a couple months ago, God called us to check this specific church. We understand we can't expect the same individualized care from the executive leadership that we could in a smaller congregation, but we look forward to navigating our walk here in the context of the system of delegation that is in place-- Thank God for the blueprint (Exodus 18). Anyway, there will likely be a learning curve. The campus is quite far from us, so we watched their services and podcasts online for a few weeks before deciding to make the drive to visit in person. Church is always better in person. We were welcomed warmly (not overly/fakely so but just enough), and we were given information on small groups which will be key for connection and discipleship. Pastor Ed and his wife Stephanie seem deeply rooted in and passionate about teaching the Word, and their love for each other and the flock appears genuine. Marge from the prayer team was so kind when I went up for prayer and anointing by an elder, and so far this has been a weekly option for those who want to obey the command of James 5:14-15. We're excited to learn more, go through the membership classes, and start serving on one (or several) their MANY weekend/community service teams. read more

I had a buddy pass away who attended this church on a regular basis and contributed $300 each visit (I know because I was not only his friend but the executor of his estate) One of his finale request to me 4 months before his passing he asked that Minister Ed say a few words at his viewing. Well once he passed I call the church and spoke with the lady that handles this. Well don't you know that Minister Ed is booked out 1 yr in advance and could not make the time. I said ok, well is the any other minister or church representative that can attend the viewing and say a few words (the viewing was a week away). Don't you know that NO ONE was gonna be available, PERIOD So much for caring for their church members. We had another church pastor attend with a couple days notice. read more

We were attending CBC South, but then several weeks ago we were walking out of the 11am service and we see a couple walking thier dog out of the church. I cudnt believe it, a dog in the sanctuary where we go to meet with Jesus. I think that is so disrespectful to Gods house. I think Pastor Josh and Pastor Ed are good men of God, but sadly if we cannot set boundaries to this behavior this is not the church for us. read more

Authentic. Imperfectly perfect. Holy Spirit filled. Following Jesus and not the world. Always aspiring to improve and encourages all members to become "equipped" to follow Jesus and serve the community. My wife and I love our small group, and have grown so much stronger in our marriage because of it and spiritually matured more in the past 8 months than the 8 years before that. We love the church addresses somewhat controversial topics with understanding, compassion, and love (such as the murder of Charlie Kirk, which our former church, OakHills, wouldn't even mention because of possible repercussions). We enjoy participating in Saturday Serve when we are both not working, and love the flexibility of Saturday services when I have to work on Sundays. CBC is not affirming of those who live lives of sin, but loves everyone regardless of their life choices - including those who choose to live in sin, while encouraging them to allow the Holy Spirit to become more of a part of their life. At the same time, CBC is grace filled and truly challenges everyone to allow for God's grace and forgiveness. We love Revival Nights- and are so glad CBC has made the choice to continue these once a month in 2026. It's a "reset" for me and my wife. Sometimes we go to main campus (including the first one with Josh Howerton!), and sometimes we go to West Campus nowadays. Ed Newton is the best communicator and orator in any church my wife and I have ever been a part of. His messages are often much "thicker" and contain more content than our previous church, and we often find ourselves still contemplating bullet points from the sermon throughout the week. We often watch the podcast on YouTube. So proud to be part of CBC. read more

Pastor Ed is a truly beautiful human being, someone who genuinely loves and cares for all people. What matters most to him is the soul: where we're headed and the condition of our hearts. He speaks truth with compassion and never shies away from what really matters, heaven, repentance, grace, and hope. What I admire most is how real he is. Months ago, my son experienced an upsetting incident involving a student aide at Community Bible Church. What concerns me most is not just the incident--but how it was handled afterward. It took me publicly posting a review on Google to receive any response at all. Prior to that, there was no urgency, no follow-up, and no clear effort to address the situation. When I was finally contacted, I was told the footage had been reviewed and nothing concerning was found. However, I was also told I would not be allowed to view the footage specifically because I had posted a public review. That response was extremely disappointing and left me with more questions than answers. I made additional attempts to reach leadership afterward--twice--and received no response. I do want to be clear--this is nothing against the head pastor. I believe he is a wonderful person and a great preacher. However, when we entrust our children to any church, we expect safety, accountability, and timely communication when concerns are raised. As someone who has been involved in ministry, I understand the value of having students serve. But there must be accountability and proper supervision. Situations involving children should be taken seriously from the start--not only after public pressure is applied. It only takes one incident to impact a child. My hope is that this is taken seriously moving forward and that leadership chooses to address concerns directly and promptly. I am still open to a conversation. read more

It was my significant other & I's first time here last Sunday & the sermon was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Pastor Ed Newton made us feel like we knew him for years during that word. The Holy Spirit was so full in that room, I got goosebumps. The choir is absolutely amazing! Grabbed an iced coffee before service began at their Coffee Shop (which is convenient if you're one to stop for a pick-me-up before heading to CBC) & stopped at the Book Store after service ended. There was plenty of parking and a number of services for children, first-time guests and places to play sports that are open to the public. That was how we became familiar with the church. The pastor, bless his heart, the poor fellow did not have the class manners, manners or erudition to refer to God as a "however God" instead of "but God" (which sounds like "butt God") during his recent sermon, which is very disrespectful, tactless, boorish and low class. He also contends his tattoos are to remind him of his spiritual journey. Good grief. How lacking in faith, tacky, low class, primitive, neurotic and tribal. What next? A nose ring to remind him of the captivity? Is his memory so bad and faith so weak that he needs (trashy looking) tattoos to remind him of his life experiences? This is what happens when people do not pray for wisdom. Apparently he has not read the book he is in charge of teaching: Leviticus 19:28 says, "You shall not make any gashes in your flesh for the dead or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the LORD." As a pastor, he is supposed to uplift the culture not conform to the lowest manifestation of it. If he really cared about what parents thought as he claims, he would have the class, manners and decency to cover the tattoos with a long sleave shirt. It is important to respect the body God gave us, not deface it with trashy looking tattoos, which is very neurotic and insecure. You are secure in the Lord as he brought you into this world. Be thankful for the gift and blessing of life. All people are created in God's image and that is good enough. Anything more is a lie denying his blessing of life and identifying with shallow, superficial things. read more

Today we had a man that had gotten hold of the holy spirt and interrupted service and the guards had to have him removed but pastor man said nope bring him to me and gave him a huge bear hug that filled the room with love and faith. My first time here I was disappointed and discouraged. It had been over a year since I attended church and my first time wasn't as expected. The pastor brought up voting and the elections. As someone who was trying to find a church to help me get closer to god and find a place to go to worship, this immediately turned me away. I attended this church for 5 years with my family. CBC was always a place for vulnerability, redemption, forgiveness, and most of all Christ's unconditional love. CBC and pastor Ed steered away from the stigmatizing divisiveness, politics, and fear that has driven so many from the church. Both the church and pastor Ed earned our trust and became a safe place for us to rejoice, celebrate, and live as Christ. Wow! In the course of one sermon this morning, Ed blew that all away. Recounting the 1st vision from the book of revelation, he misrepresented the words of "John the Elder" as the word of Christ, rather than representing it for what it was, the words of a church leader around 96 CE speaking to church followers who themselves lived at crossroads of Roman and Christian influences, which at the time were very much in rivalry for power and influence. ... So the point is that John the elder is an imperfect man driven by secondary gain and filled with sin. Heartbreaking, Ed then showed likeness to John the elder rather than our lord, as he blatantly unfolded a politically driven agenda that was morally anchored to John the Elder's words and factually inaccurate to the word of God and the foundation of the United States of America. Lost amidst the vanity of cheers from yes men was the deafening silence of the rest. Pastor Ed exploited trust and abused power today. Shame on you Ed. Recheck your counsel. "The Emperor has no clothes." Fear, prejudice, ignorance, red, blue, elephant, donkey, and intolerance were never the word of Christ. read more

I know someone who attends CBC and they wanted us to give it try. We streamed it the first time, and I must say pastor Ed is an excellent speaker. Very sensational, however I question his sincerity. We sat through a sermon in person, I always give things more than one chance, and after that and I must say, we will never be attending a mega church again. Ed had quite a few political things to say, and didn't really teach anything about the bible or Jesus, he was just selling religion as a one size fit all solution to everything in your life. Which in itself is true I suppose, but the flashing lights, the QR codes, the bands, the fake crying, the giant complex I got lost in and all the cofee and merch they sell also rubbed us the wrong way. I've never in my life seen a service started with "God Bless Trump and Vance Jackson" or any other politics in church. Many people do believe church should be a political ground, and if you are one of those people then this church is for you, but if you are someone who wants to worship god and create a community without a political agenda shoved down your throat, I'd go with something much much smaller. read more
