We thought when we hired this company that we were spending extra money but it would be worth it to…read moreget the job done and get it done well. Boy were we wrong! From the very beginning, we had issues which is why we had to fire them. 1) The drawings that you pay 5K for aren't actual drawings-its just a picture! 2) The drawings showed two fences on the sides of the back yard, but the bid only included one...which they let us know once one fence was already installed. 3) A chainlink fence we installed only went 3/4 of the way across the yard because that is all that was included in the bid! Again, we learned that it was too short after the fact and that we were supposed to pay an upcharge to have it go all the way across. 4) The design they had for the BBQ doesn't work and we had to relocate it to another area. 5) Their partial billing system is beyond annoying and over the top. 6) They talked us out of the pool deck we really wanted and put in pavers that we hated. They kept telling us they would look different after they dried, after the were cleaned, etc. We ended up tearing them out. The problem is they only provided one paver instead of many as a sample. I thought I was clear about the look we were going for but they just didn't get it. 7) But our biggest gripe (and that's saying alot!) is they did a bio retention basin in our back yard and it has never passed inspection. They assured us that they would make that happen but never did. We now have to pay our GC additional money because Clearview does not appear to know how to make inspections happen. In fact, we have had to pay to have that basin inspected a ridiculous amount of times. We finally decided they were never gonna pass inspection which is why I am writing this review. I do not recommend this company if you have a substantial project or any permits involved. I say that from a calm, thoughtful, responsive energy where I want to look out for potential customers. They cost us a lot of needless time and money.... even suffering! They don't listen to clients and they are not accountable for anything they do or don't do. In fact, at one meeting the owner Chris told me to stop complaining about the price of the project because it was distracting and not helpful! These are not guys you want to work with. Don't be tempted by the marketing like we were.

I hired Mayan Construction for a landscaping project that involved removing an old patio and then…read moreinstalling pavers. There was also a retaining wall that needed to be removed and replaced. For the first 90% of the job I'd say they did a decent job. The problem was with the finishing details. It's almost as if they finished 98% of the work and then didn't show to complete the rest of it. I asked them to return to my house and was told by Bryan that they would come back, but I never saw them again. I'm talking like a day of work to complete this stuff, if that. They left multiple pieces of rebar sticking out of concrete. I have kids and the last thing I want is for them to get hurt on sharp pieces of rebar. I also don't have the tools to cut the rebar myself. They had a sub come by and replace our aluminum gutters. There was one downspout that connected to an ugly piece of pvc pipe for drainage. I asked them to come back and remove the pvc pipe to make it look cleaner. They said they'd come back, but never did. I asked them to come back and fill in gaps that were left between the pavers, but again nothing was done. There was a sewer clean out that was left protruding above the paver patio too. I don't think I'd hire this company again to do any construction work at my house.

Terry immediately met with us in person, understood our frustration & developed a plan for our backyard that was within our budget. He included a gorgeous waterfall & pond that will be home to a few goldfish. Also an elevated flagstone patio with a firepit that gives us a gorgeous view we didn't have previously & more. Every step of the way Terry communicated with us what the team planned to accomplish that day. They all worked long hours, efficiently and always cleaned at the end of the day. Did it take a while? Yes it did but that's not unusual for large, custom projects. Terry was also extremely kind and flexible when we made changes along the way.
