Solid Bible teaching in a chapter by chapter manner - opposed to topical, great music (some call that worship, but isn't music just one type of worship?), communion every Sunday, grassroots atmosphere, true community, accessible pastors. It seems like the people at ICON church really try to do life together, both inside and out of the church. They celebrate holidays together, some workout together, socialize/dine together, serve together, learn together, etc. It's amazing to witness and be a part of. The leaders of ICON seem to be humble, collaborative and genuine; which is quite refreshing. I'm still fairly new to this church, but from what I have experienced and absorbed so far, I'd definitely say that this is a good community to grow in your relationship with God and people. ST CHARLES BORROMEO CATHOLIC CHURCH…read more I attended an XLT event yesterday with my Aztec Catholic Church from SDSU. This was such an incredible opportunity to be at a new church in San Diego. We had a testimonial, adoration, prayer teams, and confession. The place was extremely clean, high ceilings, and bright atmosphere. The parking was also huge and it was all of the cars. I really enjoyed being in this presence, as it was very comfortable and easy to navigate. The bathroom is outside on the side of the church, it is quite small with only two stalls and one sink, however the lines can go by quickly. Overall, everyone there was kind and I even met local people who frequently go to this church!

The space was decorated in blue. They maximized the space by fitting all the vendors in the path to food and festivities. We stopped to look and jewelry first, then dog treats and bought raffle tickets for a chance to win a trip for two to Greece. We were met by a waft of deliciousness. It was hard to decide what to get but we settled on some classics: Dolmades, Spanakopita and Moussaka. My favorite part was watching multi-generational dancing under the canopy. We finished the day with Greek iced coffee and Loukoumades. So yummy!

My mother's funeral service was held here on March 22, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. My mother's favorite…read morepriest Father Emilio led the beautiful service. It was a nice send off that reminded us as Christians that life does not end; because Jesus sacrificed His life at the cross there is resurrection and the promise of eternal life. We believe that we will see each other again. Thank you to Father Emilio, his staff, and the kind ladies, who helped rehearse our roles during the service for presenting a mass that honored and respected my mother's life and giving words of comfort and condolences to our family. We are eternally grateful. No photos. The ones posted will suffice. It is a beautiful church with lovely architectural details; a comforting, peaceful, & comfortable sanctuary.

Father Marek and Father Paul are both incredibly welcoming, along with everyone in the congregation. I've been attending the men's Bible study and truly enjoy the opportunity to learn, grow in faith, and feel genuinely welcomed. One thing I especially appreciate is the 24/7 Adoration Chapel, which brings such peace and comfort. A wonderful church community filled with faith and compassion.

They/we love Africa and the African Pastors and have absolutely no reservations about their potential of excellence in any matter of studies. Knowing both Pastors personally I can report the profound sincerity, respect and deep love they both have is very real for the African Pastors. I wish you would have engaged the Pastors afterwards to voice the way you felt about the service giving them a chance to respond. Been trying out different churches with my family in search of a church home. Will never come back…read moreto this church. First impression walking in was somewhat welcome. Two women engaged in conversation seemed taken aback at our presence and barely responded when I said good morning. Another man was very kind inquiring if I needed to check my younger kids into Sunday school which I politely declined. The biggest problem was in service. We arrived a little late and upon entering realized the sermon had not yet started and was relieved because I didn't want to miss anything instead they were recounting a recent trip they had taken. Both pastors while retelling their experience during an African mission trip made several very offensive and microagressive comments. The most notable one pertaining to a photo of some of the African pastors and whether they were holding up gang signs, which the entire congregation thought was funny, and other comments regarding the intellectual abilities of the African pastors and how "surprised" and they were that "they were bright they had just never been taught." In the current climate of the United States it's imperative that we as Christian help end the divide. I come from a very diverse background I've been to many different churches diverse and non- diverse I have never experienced something like this in a church. I sat with my children and felt so hurt and offended while my husband is away serving his country that these are issues still facing our country. Especially, in a church setting where people are supposed to come and feel welcome. Both of these pastors need to have some training on microaggression. We will never return to this church. Thank you Lucy and John for introducing yourself to my family, but the damage was already done by then.
