Did you know they have a superior summer camp they run at Point Loma Nazarene University? I came across it on a walk and was so impressed with the way staff was handling the camp population and visitors. I spoke with some young men from all over San Diego and Las Vegas! They were having the "best time of their year" they said and love staying in the dorms and meeting so many other young people of faith. I saw cornhole games and ping pong tables by the library and other games scattered around campus. There were also many chaperones and information tables set up for check ins and safety. It happens every year and I highly recommend you consider sending your children to this summer camp! Go on their website to check dates and availability! Great Summer Camp!

finally went on the tour! Not at all what i expected. Super beautiful places to take pics…read moreoutside. no pics inside. My favorite room was the celestial room for sure. It's big with a spiral staircase and chandeliers over the staircase. You could look up and see all the stained glass with the sun shining thru, so pretty. The atrium area was really cool too and they have a little sitting area where you can look up and see the sky and the outside of the temple. Def some cool art scattered throughout. Three things really stuck out to me, one because it was weird to me, which was the baptismal area and the next was the baptizing dead relatives, the other how members had to change their clothes every time they walked into the sanctuary. it looked like there was a dry cleaners inside the temple but i guess they'd have to have one if they gotta change their clothes that often! i don't really care for anything that has that many rituals and rules or things you think you have to do to 'earn' Gods love and acceptance. bc to me, then it's conditional. Everyone has to come to their own conclusions especially when it comes to spiritual things. So there's that! They had some really sweet kids that were on 4 hour shifts putting booties on your shoes and taking them off. The people here, we're all super kind and helpful. The kids were happy to help, i don't know any kids that would be so happy to take dirty bootie's off anyone's feet (shoes on) for 4 hours but these kids were so happy and excited to help. Was so cute! It was a very interesting day, the tour was great and now i can say i saw inside the big sugar temple! Def recommend if you can still get tix. it only opens up every 15 years or so. Glad i got to do it and Worth seeing for sure!

Normally, you cannot enter the temple unless you are LDS/Mormon, but for some reason (after a major refurbishment project), heathens may do so now for a short time. I think you have until July 11 (2026) to get in there. They suggest you make a reservation but no one asks for your ticket so I would say, just show up. There is free parking with a free very nice shuttle bus, with parking information found on the church website. Before you enter, some child laborers at the entrance put booties on everyone. Also, no photos are allowed inside and I respected that rule. The building feels much bigger from the outside than it does inside. It is very, very white and modern inside. Honestly, in some parts, it felt like a hotel. There are interesting rooms throughout, most particularly, the baptismal room. That one is pretty wild. The whole tour, if you want to call it that, takes about 45 minutes. There is no indoctrination but you will hear a bit about JC, which shouldn't be a surprise. There are tons of LDS members outside and throughout the interior of the building to guide you and give you a little background on what you are seeing. It is extremely well organized. Is it worth it? I think so. Who knows if you will ever be allowed back in?

Although it is small and the parking may not be ideal at times, I understand that they are in the midst of finding a home to accommodate everyone and those new like myself. We love this church so much, we love its people, we love its commitment to spiritual growth and outreach, and we love how it has equipped us to commit to putting Jesus at the center of our lives and our marriage. So as we got to Saddleback Community Church I found out that parking was not bad big parking lot and as we walked in the Auditorium inside the Church was big and there was lot of seats around for people to sit . As we took our seat we listen and after the Mass then it was time for the big Easter egg hunt . Everyone was waiting for because there was an helicopter that was going to drop 5000 Easter eggs for the kids to grab and do there Easier egg hunt !! So we waited and finally the Helicopter came and everyone bull rushed the Soccer field and started grabbing all the Easter eggs kind of reminds me of Black Friday at Walmart where people would bull rush the doors when they open for there Black Friday sale !! Well this Church is pretty Cool and it is fairly big !! It was my first time coming here and I suggest you give it a try and enjoy the Church !!
