I have been to Corona's Mexican restaurant and have had decent experiences. This time not so much. There was available seating right away and I was treated with water without ice, as ordered. I had the Chimichanga with shredded pork. The side dishes were solid decent and I have one chimichanga with green spicy sauce and the other had red mild sauce. The green was very spicy and made me sweat a lot while the red one was better and was able to better taste the overall chimichanga. The service was subpar to say the least. When I received my entree, I was given a spoon instead of a fork and it took sometime for the waiter to refill my water while eating the spicy chimichangas. I found his work ethics and attitude to be border-line offensive for not paying more attention. I like the cultural design of the establishment. Visiting Corona's was not the worst experience, yet it is not the best either. I hope that next time I come I will have a better time. read more

Way to go Corona's! You've added some diverse options to Mission. My Mum lives out there, & there not alot of dining options. So to find some good Mexican food is serious! I went with my Mum & my brother. We got seated right away around 3pm on a weekend. There are about a half dozen tables and patio seating (seasonal). I'll go back when it's warmer & make use of that patio! It's beside Cineplex in a mall plaza and has lots of free parking. My mom ordered chicken chimichangas and it sounded good so I also got some. It was a split decision situation because I was so hungry I could eat everything. Well they were good, I especially liked the salsa roja & verde. MMM! I can taste it when I think about it, now that's memorable! Served with beans & rice $17 + I had leftovers! My bro had the enchiladas. The enchiladas were smaller than he was expecting. But it was still full size dish with beans & rice, however, my portion was much larger for the same price. We also ordered Mexican beers & salsa + chips (salsa was average). I loved the way our server was bringing out food and drinks. She used a push cart. She was friendly & the only working in the front. She seated us, took orders, served our orders, & made drinks (other patrons were ordering jugs of margaritas, which I want to do next time). The decor is going to brighten your day. Bright walls, art, ceramic skulls, wall window frames (I'm not describing this right) with flowers. Makes you feel like you're in Mexico (I go to MX often). read more

We recently moved to Mission from Arizona. I miss good Mexican food. This place did not disappoint. We had street Tacos, elotes and churros. I had a Michelada extreme and my husband had a michelada. This place was less than ok. But not bad enough to be bad. It gets 2 stars. It wasnt a horrible place, but it wasnt an ok place either. Bathrooms weren't super clean, they were ok clean. Service was super great but it was ok. The time was approaching horrible for getting my food, but it wasnt bad but it wasnt good either it was only ok, ir less than. Food taste was ok, didn't taste poisoned, but didnt have much flavour either, at these prices for Mexican you'd expect a gourmet experience. This was only an ok experience, maybe less than ok. When I eat Mexican, I am used to it being a tasty, a cheap and a filling meal. I will settled for 2 out of three. This place was none of my Mexican food standards. I dont need glutonous portions, but when shells, beef, salsa, chips and guacamole costs you under 2 dollars, and you are charging over 20, I think there is a disconnect with reality. This place was on the low end of ok. Taste was ok. Cleanliness was ok. Service less than ok. Portions were less than ok. So as a teaching experience I'd say go to the States, see what Americans do with Mexican restaurants, find out why they have an obesity epidemic and then make your potions and taste somewhere close to that. I've had worse Mexican in other places, but I feel like a real review was necessary. Some reviews I read were from a year ago. Took my family here after waiting for months, The food is delicious, this place is definitely learning and growing, we got tacos and Enchiladas. I suggest giving them patience and not getting disgruntled over their growing pains we will be back and I look forward to trying more menu items and giving them another chance. read more

This was our first time here and I have zero complaints. The staff was friendly, the service was fast and the food was amazing. We tried the nachos, the El Pastor Burrito and the Chicken Enchiladas. The service was extremely slow ( it took 30 minutes just to be served chips & salsa) and it wasn't until we paid that the server told us their grill had broken so were using hot plates to prepare the food...this should have been communicated to us at the beginning to provide context as we were becoming increasingly frustrated at the wait and lack of acknowledgement. The food though redeemed the situation: I ordered a chicken burrito and my spouse ordered the chicken chimichanga and both tasted amazing! Good size portions (we both walked away stuffed!) Went there despite my sister in law reporting their hospital staff had witnessed the owner verbally abusing one of his young mail staff workers in the restaurant. We went to pick up our food after ordering by phone. They said 30-45 min. My BF commented that if it was going to be later to just call. We arrived at the 47 min mark - were time it was close- and waited in car. My Bf went in twice to find out why we ended up waiting 2HRs and 11 MINS. We ended up getting gift card vouchers which we used and this time the order was timely. This is a brand new restaurant with new staff and I know they are working out the kinks so I won't be too harsh on them. I went there this past week. They were slow to give us menus or take our orders but the place was busy. We ordered drinks plus our meal. The drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive and the coffee was super cold. I didn't know if that was the style of Mexican coffee or what but I didn't complain. The food came out literally 30 seconds after we got our drinks. The food was good, not horrible. They had tacos, burritos, quesadillas, the main Mexican staples you get from any restaurant. I would try them again in 6 months to see if there has been improvement in their wait staff, menu and food. read more

We dined at Corona's last night and had an EXCELLENT meal. We have traveled to Mexico many times over the last 50 years, both by plane and RV down the west coast across to Mexico City and north to Larado Texas, Eaten in 5 Star Restaurants and road side food carts, Corona's is up there with the best. Their menu isn't the longest I have seen but what they do have, to our tastes was well prepared and very tasty. The Margarita was great. Service was also excellent when we were seated the menus and water where there in less than 2 minutes and our drinks were service with in 5 minutes and the place had only two empty tables (5 PM) so they were busy. Lupita our server was friendly and responsive to all our questions and as this was our first time we had a few. I would recommend to anyone who asks and yes we will be returning and it will not be long. read more

Been to Coronas a couple times now. Both visits were positive. Friendly and attentive staff (almost too attentive LOL) but they're trying, being a fledgling new eatery. Food was delicious, from the appies, to the entrees and the deserts. Had steak fajitas both times. Came out on a sizzling pan with warm tortillas in a separate basket on the side. Weren't enough tortillas but the staff quickly brought more when asked. They've finally acquired their liquor license, so on our second trip tried the margaritas. Tasty! It's a shame there are some poor reviews but I'd recommend giving them a try. Based in my experiences they're trying hard with friendly service and delicious Mexican food. read more

Its been a few weeks since they opened, thinking the kinks would've been ironed out by now... Unfortunately; experience, customer service and overall pride is just not there. Seating and beverages were offered right away and then the server forgot about us. Waited 10 mins or so. Another server came out apologizing, took our orders, which was a simple order; super basic for the kitchen. Great food! My family and I love to go there, we've only ever had one bad experience there though. My parents both ordered burritos, I ordered nachos, and my sister got a quesadilla. When they came my sisters food was perfect, my nachos were just chips (I asked for some things to be on the side, but the waitress thought I wanted nothing on them. We told her multiple times while ordering that we want everything but those three items in the nachos) and my parents got tacos, we told her the mistakes and she came back a few minutes later. All the stuff in the tacos had been put into the burritos (we could tell because the tacos and burritos had different toppings) and my nachos now had cheese, except it wasn't melted, and all the toppings were on the side. We just ate what we got. Other than that we've never had a bad experience! read more

Had to ask four times for a box for our food when we were done as well we had to ask for our bill and were told it was at the front, I didn't get to see my bill until after I paid. I had the worst experience at Corona's in Mission! I asked for a side of 3 things, I was not told there would be a cost and the portion size was about the size of a McDonald's ketchup cup. We also waited over an hour to get our food. The "dip" was mozzarella cheese and taco spiced beef and I had to cut the "dip". My friend had the steak which was hard enough we joked it was more like beef jerky. they were out of Chicken and churros :( I paid for my food and realized I paid too much so I asked to see a receipt and found out they charged me $8.50 for the sides! I asked for a refund and the owner got so mad at me. he said ok he would refund me then said he would only refund me $6 I'm like you said the full $8.50! so then he refunded me the total amount I paid while his mom told me I was very rude! We tried Corona's for the first time today. We really enjoyed the food which was unique in our experience. The criticism we have is that the time it took to get our food from the time we ordered was very long; close to an hour. At most other Mexican restaurants we've been to we are greeted with a basket of warm tortilla chips and salsa, and I think that would have made the wait easier to take. We've been to Mexico. Most everyone in there waited a long time as well. I asked how long they had been open - 11 months. I feel they've had plenty of time to work out the kinks. The kitchen staff needs to speed up the process!!! Please take note. I won't be back if it takes an hour to get my meal. Compared to El Nopal in Sumas the service there in wait time is ten minutes or less from time of order to receiving it at the table. Some of the items are a bit more complicated to prepare, but it should not take an hour. read more

I came strictly for a taste-test if their tacos, they are 3 small tacos to an order (and you can't mix and match fillings). I think that at $10 they are priced just about right (though not filling on their own), but adding rice and beans is an upcharge of $5 which seems too much for cheap carbs. Instead, my husband and I opted to split an extra plate of tacos so we tried 3 kinds and they were delicious. We sat inside and it is very noisy (especially with the blenders going continuously) so might not be great for every crowd. The restaurant was busy but we had prompt and friendly service -- we will definitely be back again to try more tacos and great guacamole. I really enjoyed the Carne Asada tacos, and will try the shrimp and chorizo ones that come highly recommended by one of the staff members. It is high time Mission had a Mexican restaurant, and I am really happy that they have such a great menu and convenient location. read more

My husband and I went to Coronas for a date night, Friday, Aug 17 at 7pm. We asked for a table outside, but the waitress said the patio was full, so we got a table inside. We waited almost 15 minutes for a waiter to come and ask us for drinks. During this time, other customers came placed their orders and received their drinks. While we continued to wait for a waiter to ask us for drinks, we saw that a table had opened up outside. So we asked to sit outside, and they happily said sure. When the male waiter sat us down, we told him we are ready to order our drinks and food. He took our order. A few minutes later, he came back with a different table's drinks. I reminded him if he could also bring out our water. He said something along the lines as yes it's coming, you have to wait in sequential order. That comment bothered me because other customers who arrived after us, received their drinks. While we waited for the male waiter to bring our drinks, a female waitress came by and asked us if we needed anything. I said we already ordered our water and I told her we had been waiting for our drinks for a while and we saw other customers who came in after us get their drinks before us. She apologized and quickly got us our water we ordered and she was very nice. A few minutes later, the male waiter goes to deliver some food to a table beside us and says "thank you guys so much for having patience, some people don't have any patience." This caught me off guard and I wondered if that comment was towards me so I asked him. He said "oh no, no I wasn't talking about you it was about some other people." Then a male customer from a different table said "I've been waiting for 30 minutes for my food and it's all good". I told the male waiter that I don't mind waiting for my drinks or food, I just don't appreciate the indirect comments you are making. The same male customer started yelling to my husband and I that "this isn't Pakistan, this isn't Pakistan, Sikh, Sikh." This comment was literally out of know where! This comment shocked me and it really upset my husband, so my husband and the male customer exchanged a few words. I told the male waiter that we are leaving, as nothing was being resolved. When we were about to leave, I wanted to speak to the manager, as I wanted to let him/her know about this incident. No one came to speak to us! Eventually, the male waiter came to speak to us and asked if we wanted to eat inside instead. I couldn't believe he asked us to sit back down and eat at a restaurant that tolerates that kind of racist behaviour. Never in my life have I ever been to a restaurant and experienced these kinds of racist comments and having nothing been done by the management. I will never, ever eat at Coronas. Such a disappointment, a waste of $36.00. Hostess or owner, got a lil testy when we wanted a receipt for our lousy meal. Probably wanted to pocket the money. Wife wanted tacos, sorry, we don't have tacos, REALLY!!! I had the beef fajitas, lots of unchewable pieces, a teaspoon of guacamole, wife was talked into an alternative to the taco, it was rolled up and fried, tasted like a cheap ass TV dinner. Waiters looked sketchy, like they were homeless and were given a shirt from valuevillage and put to work. They basically dropped the plate in front of you and walked away, we said thankyou, no response, no "Enjoy" just walked away like we were inconveniencing them. Water was luke warm, with two tiny ice cubes in the mug, too much effort to let the tap run for a few seconds I guess. Ill never go back, next time we crave Mexican food, I'd rather go to the grimy Taco Time in Abbotsford.
