I chose Corrective Chiropractic and drove an hour each way to my appointments because I had received an enthusiastic referral from someone who had had a wonderful experience working with Drs. Childs and Durr. At the time, I was experiencing a range of problems after eating meals. I was also having cognitive & emotional issues, insomnia, weight fluctuations and was extremely tired all the time. My GP found nothing, brushed it off as "stress" and prescribed an anti-depressant. The specialists I had seen could find nothing wrong with me. My sleep study came up normal. I knew I was not well and was desperate to find someone who could shed light on my problems. I didn't quite know what to expect in working with a functional nutrition specialist but I was open to something new. Dr. Durr ordered a series of blood tests and determined I had leaky gut syndrome among other things. He put me on a 6-month elimination & reparative diet in addition to several supplements to compensate for nutritional deficiencies. What I learned during this time from my office visits, CC's literature, and website videos was more informative and helpful than I could have imagined. I learned which foods I need to eliminate from my diet. I knew nothing prior to that about leaky gut syndrome, food sensitivities and their consequences as well as the damage of acid blockers and antibiotics, both of which I had been on for many years. After the 6-month program I was down to the weight I was in high school and my symptoms all but disappeared. I was shocked that even my seasonal allergies did not return, nor did my frequent cold sores! I never had to wait more than a few minutes to see the doctor, was never rushed during the sessions, and was always treated with kindness and respect by him and everyone in the office. I went to see these doctors after having constant headaches and neck pain for a few years. They said they could help and in order to use them..I had to buy their services in packages, which was an outrageous amount of money. Maybe $3,000 or so to start...PRE PAID! I had to go 3x a week and never had one on one time with them. They literally just push you through the line with other patients and force you to buy loads of supplements which come with your expensive "package." They give you exercises to do that are supposed to train your brain, rather than fixing you structurally. Sometimes I'd wait in line to see them for an hour, even after making an appointment. They'd get stuck reviewing blood test results with other patients, meanwhile they had 40 other patients waiting in their office for an adjustment. I STILL have bottles of their supplements that I've never used, years later. I learned fast that they were money hungry. Biggest waste of money and biggest rip off ever. And they claim to be Christians? Spend your money at another chiropractor who actually gives you 30+ minutes of their time. read more

My son was born with colic and acid reflux. Rather than taking the advice of my pediatrician to put him on medication, I sought a more holistic approach through Dr. Durr and Dr Childs at Corrective Chiropractic. Within a short period post treatment he was doing much better. Several years later, I was advised to put my son on Ritalin for hyperactivity. After consulting with Corrective Chiropractic, tests were performed which indicated a gluten intolerance as well as eye issues. Two months after treatment, his hyperactivity dissipated and his school work vastly improved. One year later, my daughter began to have digestive issues. Again I called Corrective Chiropractic. Dr, Durr performed a blood test which indicated she had a dairy, gluten and soy intolerance. Her diet was adjusted accordingly and she is now much better without any need for medication. I cannot thank Dr. Durr and Dr Childs and the entire staff at Corrective Chiropractic enough for all they have done for my family over the course of many years. Their kindness and compassion is evident the moment you walk through their door. They treat their patients with respect and dignity as they listen to their concerns and treat them accordingly. They initially come off very legit but you quickly see how they don't care about the patient as an individual. It's just a conveyor belt of patients and I definitely didn't feel valued. Dr Durr has zero bedside manner, rarely smiles and seems like he dislikes his job and/or people. He does not comfort or reassure and isn't very friendly. When we discussed my bloodwork I'd gotten done through his lab, the results came back grossly incorrect - he told me I was in early stages of kidney failure! He asked if my general practitioner dr had told me I had kidney problems because my levels were high. My general practitioner did blood work on me less than a year ago, and again immediately after Dr Durr's results came back to make sure it was a lab error. IT WAS. My gen prac put my mind at ease (I'd been pretty worried after Durr told me I was in early stages of kidney failure!) and said the blood had sat too long in the tubes so the integrity of the blood was compromised which drastically skewed the results. I trust my gen prac completely and have never questioned his results; he's very well respected, and I've been with him for over a decade. When I confronted Dr Durr about this extremely serious error, he didn't even apologize, and didn't seem concerned at all when I said other people could very well be getting wrong results back too. Durr's response was "well, people can sometimes make incorrect calculations." I was totally shocked by Dr Durr's LACK OF CONCERN or care over this. Other people could very well be getting misdiagnosed because of faulty bloodwork and treated for conditions that don't exist! Dr Durr wanted to sell me about 8 supplements. I have a laundry list of food allergies and sensitivities and I asked if they were safe for me to take. He said yes, and I asked if the "other ingredients" in them would be safe too. I asked him what different ingredients were derived from that were listed on the bottles and he didn't know. He said he'd have to do some research and possibly find alternatives. I ended up going home with nothing but disappointment. He told me we'd have to reschedule, and again, never apologized even though I was driving an hour each way to get there. The older woman in reception is also rude and talked over me when I spoke to her. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. How can anyone POSSIBLY believe in a Dr or a practice who treats their patients like they and their time don't matter? Where is their integrity? I had gone from doctor to doctor for 10+ years to find answers to a lot of my health issues but no one could ever figure it out. Finally, my mom took me to Dr. Durr as a last resort and I am so so so happy that she did. Like I said, I had seen countless other doctors, even had my gall bladder surgically removed, and biopsies done to see if I had food allergies, and every single doctor would say nothing was wrong, I was fine. Um.... Didn't feel fine! That's incredibly frustrating.. But Dr. Durr ran extensive bloodwork and tests for me which figured out I had Lyme's Disease, parasites/bacteria, and lots of food sensitivities.. It all made sense! He would go over the blood work and explain to me what everything meant - like why I felt so tired all the time was because of my drained adrenal cortisol levels -- stuff like that.. He put me on a supplemental regiment and a new diet which I followed strictly, and it helped SO much! I would highly recommend his office to anyone! Everyone there is super friendly and if you ever have questions about anything, they're super helpful. I can't say enough good things about this practice. And other people have complained about the waiting... Well, when I would see Dr. Durr, he'd see me within 5-10 minutes of my appointment time, sometimes earlier if I showed up before my scheduled time. I have done very well at Corrective Chiropractic in Downingtown, PA. I have vertigo of 25+ years duration, and have gotten more help here than any of many other practices I have tried (including the Balance Center at the University of Penn). Dr. Childs has a post-doctoral certification in Neurology and is very knowledgeable and concerned. Dr. Durr has a specialization in nutrition. Yes, it is expensive, and yes, you have to be willing to keep coming back and have to follow through at home and do the exercises. When I started at this practice six years ago I had to hold onto the wall to walk. After two years, I was skiing and sewing again. (Sewing threw off my balance because it was very difficult for me to watch the needle going up and down - would bring on a vertigo episode.) In addition to the neurological issues they also deal with more "standard" chiropractic complaints, such as back and neck pain. read more

I have been a patient for at least 10 years and have never had an issue with them. They tried to get me to sign on to the package deal but I insisted that was not an option for me, so they worked with me to find an option that worked for me. I think it is like with any doctor, if you tell them what you want or need they will listen. In those ten years I have not taken so much as an aspirin. when I start to feel bad or achy I make an appointment and get adjusted and within 24 hours am back to my old self. This place is a scam. They don't disclose fees over the phone. You have to fill out an extensive application to even be considered for services and they say they don't take everyone. They feed off the fear of sick people who feel they are out of treatment options. Their fess don't include the cost of supplements which for me was $500 for the first month. This appears to be true for most people. I live 45 minutes away and drove there only to wait for at least 30 minutes to be seen for 15 minutes. The fees also don't include special labs that aren't covered by insurance and can only be interpreted by them and even then the results are very vague. Their office fees also aren't covered by insurance and each visit is $300 for 15 minutes. They justify the fee by saying that you have unlimited email access with the doctor. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because the doctor did reply quickly to emails, the office staff was friendly and they promptly refunded my money and took back my unused supplements when I decided the program wasn't for me. Alternative medicine can be helpful but beware of the true cost of these programs. read more
