In summary, the Mem is a very friendly compact ground with a capacity just under 12,000. The Centenary Terrace is the best place to stand in my humble opinion. South Stand is very cheap family seating, and the Bass Terrace is where you stand if you want a pint! Parking is a bit of a nightmare so get there early!

It's a hotch-potch of stands from different eras, one of which looks as though it should be a racing grandstand or something. Match tickets for both football and rugby can be inexpensive, and though I can't talk for the rugby fans because I've never been on a rugby match day, Bristol Rovers fans can be a noisy and enthusiastic bunch.

The concourse where you can buy overpriced pies, coffee and the like are vastly superior to what was there previously. Seats in the Dolman Stand are still cramped, but at least the view is great and unobstructed. Parking is an absolute nightmare, with much of the on-street parking that used to be available decades ago now prohibited by the police and council. Be prepared for a good 20-30 minute walk to the stadium from wherever you may luck in finding parking. There is limited public transport, with buses and a Parson St rail station nearby. But good luck getting a train that actually stops there. Why the rail companies can coordinate trains for match days is farcical.

There's no notable bar to speak of, but there's a big a field with a full-sized football pitch on which I've never used. I mainly come here to play 5-a-side, as they have a floodlit court which contains three (fairly big, you can play up to 8-a-side on each) astroturf pitches. There's no league here (as far as I know), it's just for private hire, and pretty reasonable at £41.50 a pitch for an hour. You can also occasionally get away with stretching onto two pitches for the price of one if you have too many players without them noticing (though don't tell them I told you!). One word of warning: you may want to get any budding Ade Akinbiyis to shoot towards the car park as there's a rather savage wood behind the fence at the other end which has seen the end of many a Mitre Delta in its prime.

The eternally 'unfancied' side, we haven't had a regular(ish) England Test player since the marvellously eccentric Jack Russell donned the gloves, and even during our early 90s heyday, when a deliberate focus on one day cricket brought a glut of trophies, we were still outsiders. Unfortunately the team has gone into decline since then, but the good news is that unlike football no one really takes it too seriously, so as long as you have a pint in hand and a sense of humour, supporting the Glorious Glosters can still be a lot of fun.

Please don't ask me what that means- all I understand is that I watched a bit of cricket in the afternoon and ate a big hamburger from BBQ stall. It's hard to believe it was once a Premier League stadium with Glenn Hoddle as manager. It just looks like a typical old stadium but you'd think that Swindon could do a lot better than this, to be honest. But what can you expect from a city that puts a ton of roundabouts within roundabouts. One good thing is that it's in the middle of houses, which I do like.

Actually Bristol is actually becoming the party capital of the UK (ish) and definitely of the South West. It's a really young and up and coming city which might be why they didn't support me at all at my concert here, lol, but then again I was very late. First-Hand Experience: I was lucky enough to see Bristol Rovers play at Ashton Gate against Bristol City, so I got to experience the famous and rabid local derby. It was actually a pretty friendly derby, but I loved both teams and I have an affinity with City. Their fans are loud and passionate and I am very glad that I was able to see such a famous game live and in person. Bristol City is the more successful and "bigger" of the two Bristol teams in my opinion, and is my preference. Their stadium is better, they are doing better at the moment in the third tier, and a long time ago they were league runners up (1907) and FA Cup runners up to Man U (boo Man U). But they've never won either of the big things, and for such a big city, you have to hope that with their enormous new stadium that's being remodeled on the site of the old one (Ashton Gate) that they can get back to the big time. Until they do, they'll stay at 4 stars for underachieving, but they're a very good side indeed. All of the reviews on here are pretty much for the stadium (and trashing it, no less), so they should be moved to the stadium listing which is separate.
