I have been to many cricket grounds over the years, both in UK and abroad, but i must say i thoroughly enjoyed by day here in Bristol.
It was my first one-day match as generally i go for tests and the atmostphere was carnival-like with singing, fancy dress and generally very silly behaviour (see video).
There were, as with most cricket matches, long lulls in action and these were ignored by the boisterous crowd who over the course opf the day's action became more interested in off-the-field events.
The ground itself only holds perhaps one international a year, which explains the excitement of the locals. It is also quite a small ground and so any atmosphere is contained within the stadium. I found getting to the ground a little tricky with few signs from the nearest station either for buses or walking. There was also considerable traffic too.
Facilities inside were satisfactory without being anymore than that. Many things were there on a temporary basis and so county fans in the rest of the year will not have as many options.
