Nobody (not the desk staff nor the doctor) recorded my symptoms and I was not treated. I lost 70% of my vision

She started my appointment on a positive note! It was my first time having a remote appt as well and it was great! doctor was very patient and knowledgeable! Next Sheila helped me pick out my glasses love love her!! She made me feel right at home! Overall I had a great experience compared to other places!! They weren't pushy at all which made me want to buy two pairs of glasses!! I don't like when sales associates are pushy that just makes me uncomfortable and want to leave! I'll definitely be a regular here at this location! I can't wait for my glasses to arrive!! And to try out my new contacts! Also there was no wait time all all! Everything went smoothly!!!

Halloween. The place was decked out for Halloween and all of the staff members, including the doctor. We're all dressed and various costumes, which was awesome. I was sitting in the waiting area ready to see the doctor because I had already selected a nice frame that was on sale. The eye doctor dressed in an 80s jogging suit that was color blocked was really cute. Exam went well. Pressure was great eyes had improved. Ordered my glasses received them within two weeks. Overall experience was very good. The environment is very comfortable and laid-back. I would give it five stars.

We've been going here for 3 years, since our insurance changed and didn't cover our current…read moreoptician. Up until last month everything was hunky dory. I placed an order for contacts and was told they'd be in in a week and I would receive a call. Life got busy and I wasn't able to make it in, nor did I receive a call. I went in over a month after my contact order was placed to get my daughter's eyes checked and asked to pick up my contacts that were paid for. I was then told they'd just gotten in a really big order and they'd go through it and call me. Three days later I called back after not hearing from them. 9:50am the Drs wife (who is employed there) told me they were incredibly busy and she had three people in line and instead of sitting on hold wpuld I like her to call me back. Sure. 2pm I called back. She tells me they're still so busy and she hasn't taken a lunch and she hasn't forgotten about me. This was a Thursday. Tuesday around 2 I call back and am told the Drs wife has my chart and has left and they are waiting for her to return. I asked to jist get my money back (205 from ins and 32 out of pocket) and am told the Drs wife writes the checks. I called my vision provider and have them contact the Dr Szabo's office on my behalf. They are told the Drs wife is out of the office due to a funeral, and she has my file and won't be back until Friday. This is unethical. Why does she have my file out of the office? Why, when she is well aware that I am looking for my order? I paid on July 14th. It is now August 31st and I have yet to receive anything as much as an apology. Save yourself the headache. Don't go here.

Unfortunately I had to actually give a star for this. This…read moreis possibly the worst eye care experience I have had. The Dr himself was the only good part of this office. I ordered glasses on July 17th. Two weeks later I ordered contacts and paid in full. After a month of waiting for my glasses I decided to start calling for answers. I was told by the Dr's wife that the lab had lost my glasses and she would try and find out what was going on. I never heard anything back from her on the matter so I had to call again and again. Every time I called the staff would tell me the Dr's wife must've taken my chart home with her. A month later she told me the same thing. The lab lost my glasses. I received my glasses at the end of October. When I went to pick them up the one and only person in the office (who had a toddler running around) told me I would have to come back for adjustments because she didn't know how to do them. So, where are the contacts? Who even knows..I talk with the Dr's wife again and she says she will reimburse me my out of pocket for the glasses and the contacts since they never came in. That I can pick up my prescription and order them some where else. Finally go in to get my money back and my chart is no where to be found. Again. The woman at the front desk calls the dr's wife because there isn't a note anywhere saying to reimburse my expenses. The wife says that she agreed to my out of pocket for the glasses but not the contacts. Which still isn't making sense because I never received them. The lady in the office opens a drawer and THERE ARE MY CONTACTS. She said "ya, I marked on here that I notified you in August that they were in, do you still want them?" She hands them to me and I ask if they're expired because they say September 2017 on the side. She looks and says no that's the manufacturing date.....then how did you notify me in August? This was the most exhausting experience I have ever had, anywhere. They are unorganized and unapologetic. Customer service is non existent.

This is a challenging review for me to write, because I had expectations that were not met by Dr…read more Frey's practice. I came to realize over time, however, that my expectations were inappropriate. Dr. Frey does eye exams and sells glasses and contact lenses. That's it. He only does it three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, regular business hours only. No evenings. No Saturday hours. If you need glasses or contacts, and you are available mid-week, this is probably fine for you. You're probably a senior citizen, and you like getting your business done on weekdays, when the crowds are less. Apparently Dr. Frey is the only optometrist on staff. I called on one of his business days when my elderly relative, a resident of Hobart, needed to see an eye doctor right away. The receptionist told me Dr. Frey had a family emergency, and there was no other doctor in the office. No criticism of taking time off for a family emergency; however, it showed that this business is a one-man show. There's no back-up for him. I called his office on another occasion, when a second elderly relative had an eye infection of some sort. I was referred to the hospital emergency room. Dr. Frey only does business by appointment, and does not make room in his schedule for an unexpected illness. You see, I had this idea, this crazy idea, that Dr. Frey was more than he wants to be. I thought he might be acting as a physician, and that he would see people who have eye problems, eye emergencies, and the like. I was wrong. He wants to do eye exams, and sell stuff. If he sees anyone who actually might have an ongoing disease process, he refers them to another practice. He's got himself a pretty sweet deal. I wish I could work three days a week and make enough to live a comfortable life. So, Dr. Frey is what he is. If you can manage your expectations, and think of him as no different than some retail optometry chain in the mall, but with really lousy business hours, you'll probably be fine. Just don't expect real medical care here.
