The one thing I've noticed about the Philippine industry sector whether that be in food or retail etc., is that oftentimes you're dealing with multiple people in the process. Normally in the states if I had this same service done, I would be dealing with one person the entire time. That's not the case here. So in this instance, Issa evaluated what needed to be done. She examined my hair texture and then consulted with Alan, who I assumed was the primary stylist, on the appropriate color match all while making sure I was okay with the result. Once that was settled, Alan then directs Issa to the appropriate ratio of dye to developer and then both tag-teamed to work on sections of my hair. While all this is happening, they were communicating well as a pair making this entire thing seamless. That being said, the level of attentiveness and care I had encountered at this salon is unmatched. Shortly after, I was off to a relaxing scalp massage at the shampoo station to finish off with a voluminous blow out. I was there for a solid two hours. For a hair dye job that took two stylists to complete! Most of all pricing was a lot less than what I would pay for in the US for comparable service. Alan and Issa you two rock! As I approached an associate at the salon, I informed him that I do not have an appointment & if they would accept walk ins. Sure enough, I immediately got seated and served a drink of my choice and I was getting my mani and pedi started while the lady was showing me what color retouch would fit my roots and at the same time would blend in with my existing highlights. The quality of service and attention to detail was remarkable! This salon is awesome. The lady who did my color retouch even made sure that the hair cream used to style my hair was for curly hair since I have curly locks. Despite paying the full service amount, I was given someone who lacked experience in both coloring and shampooing. My dress and back got wet, and the staff were neither friendly nor accommodating. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed, stressed, and concerned about the condition of my nails. The therapist who attended to me, Irene, appeared to be very careless during the procedure. She was too rough while cleaning my nails, causing significant discomfort and pain. I informed her that I have high blood sugar and requested that she be more gentle and careful. Despite this, my nail started bleeding. I no longer felt comfortable with how the service was being performed, as the pain continued and there seemed to be little effort to adjust her technique. When she proceeded to clean my other foot, the same thing happened. I again told her that it was painful and asked her to stop because it was already bleeding as well. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that your nail cleaning service costs more than what many other nail salons charge. I did not mind paying a higher price because I expected better care, professionalism, and attention to client safety. Unfortunately, that was not what I experienced. As of now, my nail has become swollen and has developed pus, causing significant pain and discomfort. This has resulted in additional stress and concern on my part. I hope management will take this matter seriously, review the incident, and ensure that staff members are properly trained to perform services safely and with the level of care that clients deserve. We finally ran into California Nails at the Festival Mall in Market! Market! We were easily able to make an appointment for 4 people at 7 PM for gel acrylics and pedicures. The place was very clean, the workers were so nice, and our nails look fabulous! The ladies who took care of me (in green) were so careful cleaning my nails, and although they were so busy, the work done on us was never rushed. They also maintained their professionalism and friendly service even after their busy schedule forced some to stay late to finish our nails.
