I was surprised when they said they'd come by around 6 pm for the quote. They gave a great deal and said they could do it first thing the next morning. They were prompt and knowledgeable. I appreciate that they double checked what needed to be done while also knowing what would harm the tree. They cleared away all branches, even a few that were already laying around the yard before they did any work. They were super nice and efficient. I would definitely use them in the future.

Despite multiple assurances that my tree would be cut down by their team, we have experienced repeated delays and lack of communication. It has become apparent that my job is considered too small so they keep delaying rather than just not accept the job. This behavior comes across as too greedy and unprofessional. I have wasted too much time and preparation trusting their words that were never kept. I will never recommend them to anyone.

The canopies were very low, lots of broken and dead limbs, and we had a few trees that were so overgrown that they were against the house and roof. The initial walkthrough was with Chase Hartman, a Certified Arborist. We looked at every tree on my property and discussed what could be done to it to raise the canopy, thin it out, check for damage and disease, and make sure it's healthy and will continue to flourish. At the end of the walk, they were going to limb up and thin out six huge trees in my front yard, take down a pine and oak that had grown together and were way too close to my home, take down six dead Leyland Cyprus and two huge pine trees that if they fell, would crush my home. A week later, the crew arrived with two trucks, a bobcat loader, a chipper, and eight very experienced crew. They sized up the access to the property, spoke with my neighbors to ask to use their driveways to get to my backyard, and went to work. It was incredible to watch professionals practice their craft! They systematically worked on the two large pines in the backyard by climbing the tree and cutting limbs as they went up. Piling up the limbs to be pulled away by the bobcat to the chipped. Within two hours, both large pines were gone, and work started on the cypress, which they made quick work of. They arrived at eight AM and left at one-thirty PM. Professional from start to finish. They protected my yard, my neighbors' yards, and systematically, cleanly dropped ten trees and cleaned/limbed up six trees. From the first walkthrough to the final stump grinding a week after the tree work, excellent communications, great service, extremely professional and friendly. They were priced competitively, took care of the permitting, and got the work done in a timely manner. Beyond that, they cleaned up after themselves and had our property looking immaculate afterwards. The crew cleaned up after the work was completed so that there was no dust or wood chips on our roof (and our neighbor's roof since they had to access the neighbor's property to fully take down the tree). Anyone visiting us the next day would've never known that we just had a giant tree cut down. There was some oil spillage on our paved alley/driveway from a chainsaw that broke while cutting down the tree, and Northside provided us with a free power wash to take care of the problem. Northside does excellent work and I recommend them if you need a tree taken down.

Our properties are divided by a 'man made creek' aka ugly, unsightly drainage ditch - and the ditch is lined with trees on both sides. Due to multiple factors - as I expected based on ..., it was deemed that the safest and easiest way to access my neighbor's leaning tree was to from my side of the ditch. Even though my neighbor was fine with a verbal agreement - I insisted on drafting up a document granting access from yard and outlining minimum requirements - (a. min 24 hr advance notice so I can prepare and coordinate my schedule and b. assurance company is insured / proof of insurance) After two reschedules, he visited my home on July 25 along with a 2 man crew. He said that there were some small trees around the large, leaning tree that would have to be removed so that he could get to the tree. Other than the fact that he spray-painted some trees, things seemed fine. (I didn't understand the need for spray paint since he was doing the work right then.) The job was taking longer than I anticipated, so I left to go the post office. On my way home from the post office, I noticed that I had a missed doorbell Ring from one of his workers. When I returned home, I saw that the crew was gone and one of my gutters were bent. This was very obvious because 1) my gutters are less than 3 years old and 2) my gutters are bright white. I called Mr. Joseph and he expressed surprise at my 'claim.' Said 'his guys' didn't say anything about it. I told him that I thought he was here working with them. He explained that he'd left them working, to go to another jobsite and experienced truck trouble. He told me he would get back to me. He did not. I contacted him the next day, after not hearing from him - and he said he was having trouble with his truck (still) and that he would straighten the gutter out when he came back to remove the debris. At no point did he apologize for his guy damaging the gutter, nor did he apologize for not calling me back the evening before. In fact, this time he was snappy and belligerent until I told him that I didn't understand why he seemed frustrated with me when I was the one with damage to my home and a yard full of tree debris. He calmed down a little bit, but he still refused to commit to a day and time to come by and I explained to him that I wanted to be home (and awake) when they came to do the work. It was clear (see photo) that one of the crew members had already tried to straighten the gutter (and done a bad job of it). He told me he would let me know when he planned on coming out. Without any notice, on July 27 they showed up at my house and moved all the debris from my yard, into the neighbor's yard and the top of the cul de sac. No attempt was made to fix the gutter and I don't even know if Mr. Joseph was with them. On a less important note - one of the trees they spray painted was left intact, so I had to look at a bright orange blob of paint for several months until it faded. And when they were felling the tree, they managed to somehow 'skin' or knock the bark of several of the smaller but healthy trees lining my side of the ditch. On Aug 14, they finally came back and cleaned up the debris. When they came - they parked their woodchipper in front of my driveway, so that I had to actually drive on to my lawn to pull on to my driveway. Eventually, the neighbor hired "Juan Guathers" to replace the section of damaged gutter. After one no call / no show and one rescheduling from him, on Oct 7 the gutter was finally repaired. I understand that accidents happen. And I've been a homeowner for 20 years. I understand that things don't always go smoothly. I'm a very reasonable person. But the fact that the owner failed to EVER follow-up or update me showed an extreme lack of professionalism. I got the distinct impression that because my neighbor was his client, not me - he didn't feel compelled to follow up with me - or maybe it was 'something else.' I found this owner and crew to be super inconsiderate and unreliable. Would not recommend hiring.

They sent Joseph who took a look and then told me that he will fill out a permit with the city before he gives me a quote. He then sends me an invoice for $150 to file the permit. I emailed him back and asked for a quote, assuming that we can cut all the trees. I want to compare rates between other tree cutting companies. He ignored my email and never responded. None of the other tree companies requested payment to file a permit with the city. If they had told me in advance that they require a $150 permit to be filed first, I would not have asked them for a quote and would not have wasted about 30 minutes of my life showing the guy around the property.
