Better food, worse wifi than Starbucks.
Really I shouldn't compare every coffee shop the the juggernaut that is Starbucks, but I can't help it. I'm a geek and we have special needs when it comes to a coffee shop. It's not just about coffee - heck I don't even drink coffee. It's about ambiance.
What makes a good coffee shop? Comfee chairs, good wifi, staff that are friendly and accommodating to me when I'm there for hours practicing the alchemy of our age (coding). Good drinks and food are a bonus.
Given that criteria, Coasta has comfortable chairs and friendly staff. On the wifi side - it's pretty good, but only last for an hour, then you have to ask for more or buy something else. Just seems a little petty. Speaking of petty, the power outlets have a notice on them asking you not to use them.
My toasty was actually very good, so I give them kudos for food. Liked my soy chai latte as well.
Overall they have good product and treat you nice, but really don't want you to stay. read more
