The Fisch frame and the Man-O-War frame are the two best fitting sunglasses for my large head (7.5 inch hat size) in the Costa line and most other companies sunglasses. I am very disappointed they discontinued the Man-O-War style. Costa is noted for having among the best lenses in the industry and the polarized blue mirror and green mirror are especially noted for use in fishing with the blue for deep water fishing and the green for inshore fishing. I tend to wear the Fisch Blue Mirror polarized more on land or blue water fishing while I use my green mirror polarized Man-O-Wars for inshore fishing and when just lounging at the beach or a pool I rotate through both. Costa's "Large" size is too small for head and I also have a pair of the Brine model that I really like the look of but they are just too darn small for my head and they dig in under my eyes too much so I wish they would make a version of this style in extra large too and let me trade the Brine in for a larger model. The only trouble I have ever had with my Fisch is the Costa neoprene strap will sometimes slip off of it as with the glass lenses this frame gets a bit heavy but this strap has kept my Fish afloat when strong waves have knocked them off my head so I wish they would make a neoprene version of the Costa Gripper and add the attachment slits to all their frames to use that option. Costa has been famous for their lifetime warranty that really made their sunglasses a good value but sadly they have changed their program to only being a two year limited warranty and now you can also purchase insurance for your sunglasses from them. So far I've had had to use my lifetime warranty twice for my Fisch frames due to having the black rubber parts on the frame just degrade and start disintegrating. For some reason they have also stopped making tortoise colored frames matched with their blue glass lenses. For my most recent warranty claim they didn't have an exact match replacement for my Fisch sunglasses so they gave me a generous number of choices to replace my sunglasses with so it seems I still fall under the lifetime warranty due to when I had purchased my sunglasses. Among the options I was given was the new Diego frame which has strap ready retainer holes in the temple tips. The Diego frame also has no rubber parts to degrade which also impacted my decision. So far I have liked my Diego sunglasses although I choose the "wetlands" frame color which looks similar to the tortoise color in the online pictures but in person it really just looks mostly grey. I still prefer the fit and look of the Fish frames and I hope they make an improved version with less weak rubber components so I can get another pair in the future. I'm not sure if my new warranty claim replacement sunglasses will still fall under the lifetime warranty or if I will be switched to the new 2 year warranty so I guess that remains to be seen and would certainly impact the value proposition of how I view Costa de Mar. So far I have been VERY happy with my experiences with Costa's warranty program and I hope that experience continues. read more

Costa refused to send me a replacement or my money back because they no longer made that design anymore. recommend buying sunglasses from anyone but Costa. I live in South Florida and have worn Costa's for many years after moving from Revo. I found the rimless glasses to be extremely functional and great in the Florida sun. Costa's are also well regarded in the boating industry. I currently have four pairs in new condition as well as another pair of Ballast that I am wearing and keep in the car. I prefer the 580 lenses in polarized blue but have the 400's and had grey and green lenses also. Each function differently in unique environments. I have had to use the warranty in the past and just finished a pair. The damage is covered if it's due to Costa and the sunglasses design or function. They obviously do not cover personal negligence and damage like lenses being scratched. They will replace lenses for a charge however. They offer a reasonable shipping and handling charge. I suggest considering a set or two. You can find them online and at Bass Pro locally. read more

I purchased a pair of Costa Fantails for $279.00 at Academy in Cedar Park, TX. Both lenses broke within the first two years of purchase from simply falling off of my head. Costa's customer service response that i they were sorry and directed me to purchase a new pair of lenses. I will go back to Oakleys that i have used for years. I only bought the sunglasses 2 months ago and while at the zoo today they fell off of my lap while I was sitting. It couldn't have been more than 2 1/2' drop and one of the lenses has a nick in it. Recently moved to Florida and was told about Costa sunglasses as having the BEST quality, with a LIFETIME repair warranty. I treated my first pair of Costa´s like I´ve never treated any other sunglasses before: very careful, always in their case, polish the lens, etc. One day, they just fell out of my head, to instantly get a NASTY SCRATCH in the right lens. I am an optical technician for an optometrist. Ever since Luxottica bought out Costa though, we have had nothing but constant issues. Every single order that we place takes over a month to get back to us, and we have had to send every single one back because there are always defects. We have had lenses come back different colors, wrong prescriptions put into lenses, scratches, lenses cut too big or small for frames. And Luxottica customer service is the absolute worst. They are no help at all, they are rude, and it takes them forever to fix any of our issues. One job in particular has been sent back to Luxottica over 3 times because they keep making different errors. Customer care through Costa has always been fair, but now our office is in a position where we are steering people AWAY from purchasing Costa prescription glasses, which is a shame because we live in a fishing community. read more

Bought a pair of prescription glasses about a year ago. Best sun glasses I own. That said they have delaminated twice in 12 months and had to be sent back. Paid the processing fee, and got my glasses repaired..no problems. However their customer service is really lacking. 1- $800 glasses should not fail twice in 12 months..I baby these so it is likely a manufacturing problem. 2- I sent them an email a month ago expressing my concerns that these glasses will be out of warranty in 6 months and if the problem repeats itself I will be the proud owner of expensive useless glasses...except for a form email acknowledging my email...I've received no response. read more

Don't be fooled by Costa's "lifetime warranty" on their products! I understand that certain things are beyond control by companies, but when I purchased a pair of Pawley's glasses online, and they were crooked right out of the box, I sent them in for warranty, as the issue was most definitely a manufacturing issue- an issue that any business in good stead should stand behind and repair/replace. They gave me the generous offer of a replacement pair for 49 bucks to replace my BRAND NEW Costa glasses! That is not only BAD BUSINESS, but it is INSULTING! When it arrived the lens were scratched. What I don't get is that most of these reviews are complaining about the customer damaging the glasses then wanting them to be fixed or replaced on Costa's dime. It's a warranty against workmanship and materials not your negligence. I have had warranty work done on 5 pairs of glasses and never had them give me trouble with any one of them. The frame broke in an absolute perfect line all the way through the bottom of the frame when I was putting them on. Now I have to pay to have them fix/replace the defective lens? I have been wearing Costa Sunglasses for almost 20 years. They are the best glasses I have ever had. I recently sent my 3 year old pair of Fantail glasses to have the nosepiece replaced after it broke. Costa quickly assessed and repaired them under warranty. The service was quick and outstanding! For having a lifetime warranty the sunglasses don't last more than a year with regular use without screws coming out and rubber peeling off the arms. I've owned 6 pairs of Jose sunglasses. Another great experience with Costa Del Mar service center. I had a pair of Blackfins that were a year + old that the nose protector split down the middle. The lenses were still in good shape with only one dot scratch from a drop. I figured they would repair the frame or if I got luck they would just replace it with a new frame and install my old lenses. They had it in the shop for 10 days and returned to me a brand new pair of Blackfins. I couldn't be happier with their service A+ read more
