Costco Cancún was just like any other Costco here in the states. Great value selection and a few local options that bring its own flare to the locals. We enjoy stopping by Costco when traveling just to see what may be different. Some of the more notable items were 5 gallon paint, mini split AC units, local cheeses just to name a few. My luggage broke while on vacation so it was really convenient that there was a local Costco in town. The luggage selection was very limited but when it is an emergency anything will do; and they were reasonably priced as well so it was fine. I can't believe that this is my first review of this Costco! I have been coming to this Costco for like ever! Now when you try to quantify how long that is imagine for and ever and add some like and you will understand! I am not into politics and cannot comment on cartel activity, but I can tell you that Costco is cartel free! I walk in and there is no militia and there is no signs of drug sales or any drug activity taking place. I however did pass the cartel section of Costco where you could buy armaments and all kinds of gear; Kevlar vests, grenades, knives, helmets and of course bullet proof suits.... who am i kidding this is not a movie, none of that actually exists! If you know Costco from any part of the US, this feels like home. We always stay at a Condo and get our much needed fresh food here. They have a great selection of meats and fish. We even picked up lobster! TBH my favorite part of visiting this Costco is the chocoflan! It's kinda like going to Costco back home and always expecting to find a cheesecake. Here, they carry chocoflan and it always sells out! It is seriously to die for! On our last trip we made 2 trips to Costco because we ate it too fast! The food court is exactly like the one back home! So after some shopping, go to the food court and enjoy! Be aware that they do need your membership card to buy food from the court. Seriously, visit this Costco! The avocadoes are cheap and so is the Oaxaca cheese! What a great experience today. My wife lost her phone today somewhere in the store. Find my phone could not locate it but several of the stores employees did. After about an hour Gerardo and his associates found the phone to our great relief. Thanks so much. We have come to this store for years and love it and this is just one more reason to return. Walking around Cancun we were eager to find some fairly priced goods. There's a Walmart and Soriana nearby, but nothing else can match the quality of Costco! Upon entering, you immediately feel the cool AC that is sorely needed in the Yucatán. Enjoy! The goods are top notch, and they are definitely pricier very fairly. This is especially important if you are eager not to get ripped off like in the Zona Hotelera. Take my advice, book an Airbnb and stock up on food from Costco. Eat out at local places and don't feed the Sona Hotelera Cartel!! PS. The food is amazing! Try the Mango smoothie, it's so fresh! read more

Regarding Costco Travel - booked a trip to Xcaret. After arriving, was walking down the stairs to go to dinner, fell on a slippery step, cracked my head open, and spent the next 5 hours at the hospital getting stitches, etc. Xcaret not only wouldn't give me an incident report, they wouldn't claim any responsibility for my fall, although, the next day they had their repairmen out there sanding down the wall. Costco travel wouldn't intercede and help me out. So I was left with a $2,700. bill. I feel that the travel dept. at Costco should have been much more helpful - I wouldn't use them again. read more

This Costco was great! We drove into town and stopped in on our first night to stock up on food and water for our trip. Best decision ever! It was a bit pricier than we expected but still better than the regular stores in hotel zone. The stuff we didn't want in bulk we stopped at Walmart next door and picked up. We got pizza from the food area outside. That was wonderful! It lasted us 2-3 days lol and was true to Costco quality. The Costco has much higher prices than I expected and it makes me wonder how the locals shop here if they are not willing to splurge on all items. Plus pay to shop here with membership. You even have to pay for parking unless you get it validated inside. I wanted a few swim coverups that looked cute but at a price tag of $30 USD count me out!!! Overall, a very nice and clean Costco! Americans can feel right at home! All the Costco players are here- snack bar, rotisserie chicken, giant packs of toilet paper. Most items are comparable to U.S. prices so don't be going in thinking you'll be saving on your Costco faves. They accept your American Costco membership as well as Costco Visa card. They did have some things that are regional, such as Chocoflan and Guava Cheesecake. Overall, it was a great trip to get American staples for our family trip and we got a great deal on some boogie boards. If you are renting a car and will be in Cancun for more than a week with a family, it's worth the trip. Otherwise, stick with the Mega Soriana next door or Walmart down the street for smaller packages. read more

What a great way to support the local economy! Not! But we couldn't resist checking it out. On the way home, we dropped by Costco before going to the airport to get some food. Surprisingly in the deli, they sell the same hotdogs, pizzas and churros that you'd see at the other locations. I was hoping for something special like you see in Canada with poutine. We always enjoy shopping at Costco. Comparing the Mexico to USA Costco, there are some differences. Concessions are outside. You NEED YOUR MEMBERSHIP COSTCO CARD to buy from the Concession. A SNAKE-LIKE QUEUES WAIT LINE is outlined on the cement for ordering your food and drink/water/Soda. Bringing items into the store NO NEED TO CHECK PERSONAL ITEMS. The liquor is in the back of the store. Better prices on liquor than the duty free at the Cancun airport. Pharmacy prices, (prescription and over the counter), inexpensive. All Costco price items are lower than USA. If you use your Visa Costco Debit card there is no exchange rate charges. Getting to the Cancun Costco is easy. We took the Walmart bus. Costco is about 4 blocks away. There are only about 4 turns before you are in the Costco parking lot. There are sidewalks with a couple of busy intersections. The Maps - Navigation on your phone will guide you there. read more
