I need to fill our big rental Suburban with gas and I knew there was a Costco here in Carson City. I was told the prices here are way less than in Reno, like 50 cents or more difference! I already get 5% back cause I have the City Costco credit card that doubles as my membership card at the store. I like that the card scanners work super well at the Costco gas station. No multiple swipes or taps, just wave it on front of the scanner once and it's done, get to pumping! I was surprised there weren't huge lines here, like most of the Costco gas stations. I think this is one of the least crowded Costcos, the store included, well, compared to any big city Costco. All gassed up and then the pump asks by default, is no receipt OK? If you want one, then it will print one, but just go online to your Costco account page and see all your purchases, including the gas! I like this Costco Gas station! read more

Unlike all the other Costco Gasoline stations I frequent! Open 7 days a week from 6am to 7:30pm, 8:30pm or 10pm. Yelp hours differ slightly. Plenty of parking when visiting the warehouse. We have our "set" parking space/area where there is even less traffic and almost a guaranteed parking spot for us. Service - Self service. Price - Least expensive Costco gas that I frequent. It's always cheapest here (other close options being Reno and Sparks) Fun story, about 12 years ago i had a roommate who would drive to Carson from Reno for cheaper gas and I thought she was crazy. Now, I've driven to Carson Costco for cheaper gas on a handful occasions ( a few actually having Carson on my route so I'd pass through anyway). Like any other Costco gas location, it's a one way entrance and exit, the pumps have the stretchy hoses so you can pull up to any pump no matter which side your gas tank is on. This location has always had the cheapest gas prices. Always lower than Reno's, Sparks, Folsom, Modesto, etc. That $120 membership fee has been returned just for the gas. Right now it is at $2.99. For someone like me who lives in South Lake Tahoe, the drive is definitely worth it with this gas price alone. This costco also has some of the best plants. read more

When it comes to gas prices nowadays, finding the least expensive gas is important. Carson City has much cheaper gas than Reno. Costco Carson is the best price by far. About $.40 a gallon less than Reno. If you have a chance to fill up in Carson, do it. If you have a large truck with a 50 gallon gas tank, this Actualizes as a $20 savings. I don't mind driving to the Carson Costco gas station, it's so much cheaper than the Reno one. However, I have noticed that inside the Carson Costco, items are pricier than the Reno store so I guess it balances out. I usually only get gas here if I'm on my way to the great South Lake. Gayle and I drive up to Genoa every couple months to visit her Mom. The return drive goes better with a full tank of gas, so I either fill up at Costco sometime Saturday or the Maverik in Minden on days we go home via Route 88. They also have great snacks for the long journey. I'll rate this Costco 4-Stars because yes I'm a fan of cheaper than California gasoline. Is this a 5-Star "As Good As It Gets" experience? No and for that I'll take Iowa where thanks to ethanol subsidies, I've occasionally paid about $2 a gallon less while visiting the Hawkeye state. One practical recommendation is to enter and leave the station through the back. The closer you get to the main Costco store, the crazier the multiple traffic patterns. read more

Have your membership card ready then your debit/credit card. Great price on gas. Great location on 395 south of 50. Fuel up and off to the lake! Pay attention and learn the unwritten rules. The hose will reach across your trunk. Watch for folks driving around you if you do this. It does let you pick the shortest line. I've never tried it but I see it all the time. Be patient with mean impatient folks. I've been yelled at because I've waited about 30 seconds for the guy in front of me (as I see him wrapping up) hence tying up the rear pump. I guess you let 'em cry. I'm getting inexpensive gas and being safe about it. So I'm in no hurry. Sure the lines are long, but waiting 30 seconds won't kill ya. read more

Like most Costco gas stations, this one is located away from the entrance of the Costco. It makes it easier getting in and out of the parkling lot. I came here twice on my stay. Once in the morning and once in the late afternoon. At no time did I have more than one car in front of me. I believe there were eight rows with the usual two positions. This is a great place to get gas, even better now that Costco opened another fueling island with more pumps. There hardly ever a wait and the gas is top tier and the cheapest in Carson City. The pumps all work well and are clean and I don't have to worry about some credit card cloning scam here, like at some of the more sketchy stations. You do have to be a member, but then you can use and VISA card you want, or even a gift card I hear. Using the Costco Citi Visa, you'll get back 4% of all gas purchases .... that a lot compared to any other cards. I like that the pumps normally open at 6am, as I'm up early and there's NO line at that time! People do seem civilized here about waiting in line and pulling forward ... not like some big city Costco gas place. read more

I went here and Saturday, March 23, 2019, and have been here many times in the past years. This is my regular go-to station for gas. It is Top Tier Gas (https://www.toptiergas.com/), which is better for your car, as it has more detergents. (Note: gas from Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale Club, Walmart, or grocery stores such as Safeway, are not Top Tier!) This Costco also consistently has the lowest gas prices of all Costcos in northern Nevada and all of California. A few of the ones in Las Vegas are lower in price, and the Costcos in Roseville and Elk Grove, California are occasionally lower, but this is rare. This gas station is always lower by $0.25 or more than the nearby Costcos in Reno and Sparks. Nevada does not have the same strict gas requirements and high taxes as California, so gas is cheaper here and you get more mileage from it. I love coming here. The views from here are spectacular, as you can see the mountains. I also have always found the attendants to be courteous and helpful whenever I have had to deal with them. The only thing I don't like is the long lines for gas. Now, the lines aren't usually as long as the Costcos in California, but they can get almost as long in the summers. This is because of all the tourists here from the Lake Tahoe area. 50% to 80% of the cars here have California license plates--I have done surveys! I appreciate the business that tourism brings, and I am sure Costco appreciates it too, but still, it can be annoying for a local, as these people overwhelm our store and gas station. In the past, in the winter, you could just drive up and have your choice of pumps. But now in the winter there are often long lines. I think it is because we have had record snowfall each of the two past winters, and this draws in the skiers and snowboarders. A quick warning: this Costco gas station is undergoing renovation March 1 to April 10, 2019, approximately, so it will be totally closed (the warehouse will still be open though). The parking lot to the north of the gas station is already roped off. This is a bummer for me, as I usually get gas only at Costco, so I may have to get it now in Sparks or Reno. I hate the Costco in Reno, as it is kind of hard to get to off of the interstate. Oh, what are all the California tourists going to do? Californians love Costco, but will have to go elsewhere. My wish is for them to build a Costco in South Lake Tahoe, but since gas in that area is like $1 more per gallon, they would still probably come to this Costco. read more

I stopped in today to fill some gas cans and was met by the gas attendant Hank. He informed me that I had a limit on the number of tanks I could fill and I expressed my concern that I felt bad bringing this many . He promptly helped me remove them and showed me a trick as to fill them quickly. He was back and forth helping me and other customers. I really appreciated his help. At the end, i thanked him and tried to give him a tip. He refused and suggested I make a donation to Children's Miracle Network. Solid guy, and a asset to Costco! read more

4 stars for prices on fuel, 2 stars for the long wait to get to a pump. Its self service and they don't offer a windshield scrubber or any air or water. They want you in and out. Its for Costco members only and they only accept debit, but at least they don't charge you extra for using a debit card. If it was not for Costco Gasoline, we cannot afford to drive places like we are right now. The price is rock bottom and the gasoline is high grade. By high grade, I don't mean high octane - I meant it is good gas and not the cheaper gas you may find at other pumps. The price here is always anywhere from 15 cents to as much as 35 cents cheaper than elsewhere. read more
