Went to Costco Montclair on July 6th. I arrived early and noticed it was open at 9am for seniors and first responders also for guest with medical conditions. As I am standing right next to the entrance without being noticed ,waiting and listening I see the greeter allow a family of three that is no where near 60 years (as posted for seniors) and the greeter allowed them in no questions asked. She didn't take the time to explain or mention why they are open at 9am. I decided to get up and go inside. I was immediately stoped and ask if I was a 1st responder or have a medical condition I said no and was not allowed in. I asked why did you let the other party in and not ask them the same questions. She had no answer I requested to speak to the manager and he stated this policy was going to end soon anyway and also said she probably knew them as regular customers. My response to course correct was. It is very important as leaders that we maintain perception so other guest notice we are performing our responsibilities 100% at all times and not making exceptions to the rules while other guest are waiting to get in. It's truly amazing how a Big Box organization like Costco can have a Manager with such a poor response to incidents like this. I'm all in for policies and procedures all I'm saying is if you are going to be flexible,BE FLEXIBLE don't deliver poor responses to other guest asking why and shrug your shoulders with little care. Manager seems like a nice guy this post is simply a wake up call to course correct this behavior and be aware of your surroundings to avoid further bad reviews. We live in a time where surveys and reviews are very important and impact our shopping experience. For this reason today Costco gets only 1 star. Maybe more tomorrow who knows? Just have to wait and see if it gets better. read more

Best prices around AND the most secure. I know for a fact that the pumps are checked 3 times a day for skimmers and any other devices that could steal info such as pin numbers. These are the most reliable pumps in the industry. Also the pump filters are changed very often so slow fueling is never an issue like getting gas at the average Arco station. I have filled my tank (18 gallons) in under 4 minutes. Well lit at night, clean and secure. What more could you ask for. Don't say the hours of operation because they are open from 6am-10pm M-F, 6am-8pm Sat and 7am-8pm Sun. read more

There's usually a long line because Costco gas is awesome but it goes by pretty quickly. The layout is pretty much like any other Costco gas center. The people who work at the gas center are so awesome. I don't think I'll ever stop coming here. read more

What I love about Costco Gasoline: The prices. I seriously think they can't be beat. What I hate about Costco Gasoline: The long, long, loooooong lines to get the gas. Fortunately, this Costco is situated in such a way that you can easily maneuver your ridiculously large SUV around to find an open pump or get in the shortest line to pump gas. Also, the pumps are spaced far enough apart between the aisles that if the person in pump #1 of your aisle finishes before the person in pump #2 in your aisle, you can easily drive your car past pump #2 and into the pump #1 spot, saving everyone time and loss of sanity. Pro tip: If you're planning on gassing up and eating a cheap dinner for the night, you can drop your wife/brother/mom/etc. off at the food court, head over to get gas, and when you're done pumping, pick them back up (cuz' the food court line and the gas line tend to flow at the same pace). Come back and thank me for that tip once it's worked for you a few times. read more

Always cheapest gas in the area. Attendant seems very attentive and helpful. Well-lit, clean, seems safe, and I've only seen one pump out of order. Also, it's probably the fastest Costco gas location that I go to. I go during the week and as long as I'm not there at peak hours (during lunch, immediately after work), I've never had to wait for more than a car or two to get to the front of the line. Getting in to the gas station is fine, but it can be a pain to get out of the gas station. This is convenient when you are driving out of LA on your way to Vegas or Palm Springs. Sure, it's located in an undesirable area but it's great when you want some discount gas on the go. read more

The Costco gas station is consistently 9-12 cents cheaper than local competition. For reference, today's (6/21) price was $2.89/gal, and most other stations I saw around was 2.99. It's convenient for me, but you have to be a Costco member (of course), and only Amex, debit, and Costco Cash Cards are accepted. No wait for me this morning either. read more

Every time I visit this gas station, I'm in line about 15min or more I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you have time to spare or if you want to save a little money because Costco does have cheaper gas than most gasoline stations. For an extra buck or two more back in your pocket some times it's just not worth the wait. read more

PRO: Price, price, price...can't be beat. Among the best prices in the area. Since it's just East of LA County where gas taxes are higher, it's worth the effort to come across the "boarder" for lower prices. It is just off I-10, and if you plan things right, you can pick up a pizza right after filling up (pre-order via phone). CONS: This is one crowded location. Lines can reach out into the street, and since it's near the fwy exit, this can be an issue. Not a big deal, but only debit cards, AMEX (until they switch to MC), and Costco Cash Cards are usable. HINTS: They're open until 9pm, and the closer to closing that you come, the less crowded. Also, most people seem to line up at the closest pumps rather than look for shorter lines further away from the entrance. read more

Always $0.20 cheap than other competitors, and even a few cents cheaper when compared to other Costcos in the area. The lot is a little small, and it gets really crowded during peak time around lunch time and after 5pm when everyone gets off work. But never a line in the morning. If you want to get good prices especially on gasoline, you will usually wait. Costco gas is so much cheaper than other gas stations that it does get crowded with long waits. I have been a member of Costco for years, but had never tried one of their gas stations until this past weekend. I came across here when I was in the area and decided to give it a try. The setup was fairly simple since all of the traffic was in one direction. There was a bit of a line, but not too bad. The machines were 'self service', and they also asked for a Costco membership card. It was very user friendly. The best thing was that the gas was super cheap. I can't remember the last time I paid that little for gas in California. I had a great experience here, and will be back for sure the next time I am in this area and need to fill up my tank. read more

Not much to say about a Costco Gas Station besides this one is the busiest no matter what time of the day it is. Plus the entrance is a bit awkward to get into, especially when it's packed! You can only pay with a debit card, Costco gas card, or the Costco American Express card. The attendants are all nice and the prices are worth the membership. Update regarding Costco gas station attendant unprofessional behavior. Spoke to AGM Maria Alvarez of Costco Monteclair and deflected my complaint. Her reasoning was horrible regarding how the safety of the attendant due to cars trying to rush in even though I was the first inline and everyone was behind me (the video tape will show it if it could be view in public). Then she questions whether I was there first and I advise her to backup the tape further to show I was the only person there ahead of anyone for at least 5 minutes. She did not show any concern for my complaint rather to give excuses for the gas station attendant. I guess customers are not number one at Costco Monteclair. read more
