It was Memorial Day so we search to see which Costco is open. This place showed up on Google as opened so we went ahead and drove there to get some gas before heading back to San Francisco. When we got there after driving 2 miles, all the pumps were blocked off with orange cones and no workers to be found. We had to search for another gas station. read more

Costco gas is usually a great deal and this location definitely has good prices. However, whoever decided how the lines would be organized with the nearby streets did not plan for the amount of people who would want gas. We purposely avoid this particular Costco gas station because of the lines that file out into the street. I imagine it makes it harder for people to visit the businesses in the plaza behind the station and I know it slows down traffic passing through from experience. If you catch them at a time where the lines aren't into the streets, take advantage of it. read more

Prices are good, however this is the worst costco gas station logistically speaking. It is probably the busiest gas station in the area, yet less pumps than other costcos. It is always backed up on the street. I went on Friday and waited about 20 min. There were cars everywhere trying to get to the surrounding businesses having to do multiple turns to get in because of the backup of the gas station. Also, I usually like to get a carwash at quickquack, then gas and I couldn't get through since all the cars were blocking to even get to the car wash. My digital card for some reason doesn't work at this location and I have to scan my membership card. Overall, I wish the design of this was easier. It unfortunately is the closest Costco has to me though so I try to come on off days closer to closing to avoid the congestion. read more

The price of gas at Costco cannot be beat. The problem is everyone knows it and the waits can be excruciating if you are in a hurry. I have had to bail on several occasions. I wish they were open longer hours - you have to have your membership card in order to fuel up and everything is automated. I don't see why it can't be open unattended, guess we can't have it all. The gas if for your car and not from you! LOL. Just had to say that because years ago when dinosaurs walked the earth then died off the remains created oil. Soy they say. This oil gets refined and made into gasoline and other products. Costco has now opened gasoline stations that members can use to purchase at a cost usually better than other places. The nice thing is the fuel hose can reach either side of your car. But it might not depending on the gas filler on your vehicle. Such as a pickup truck with a camper and the fill tank is closer to the door. If that's the location I would recommend pulling into a lane where the hose can reach without any problems. The gas lines look long at times but it really does move fast and efficient. You do need to use your Costco card. I don't know if it will work with the digital Costco app. I would imagine. But anyway the attendant on site could probably help with that. read more

Kind of out of the way nowadays, it's convenient if shopping at the warehouse which isn't as attractive now that they've done away with sampling. This fuel station is an afterthought and it shows. The "traffic" hasn't been thought out well both before and after pumping fuel. Pump hoses are long enough to reach the opposite side of your vehicle which is nice, but the pumps are two deep, which isn't so nice. I absolutely love Costco. It's one stop shopping, that always yield's some great goodies. The Costco gas station has become a necessary evil. Don't get me wrong, it's the best place in town, to get the least expensive gasoline. And with the way that the California price tag for gasoline fluctuates so frequently, it keeps the lines at Costco gasoline around the block at times. This is absolutely one of the most difficult gas stations to get into. I appreciate the fact that they have multiple pumps, and on the rare occasion that one or two pumps may not be working, cars can pull up on either side of these pumps. I don't know what it is about the station, but people get crazy here. People will drive in all crazy different directions just to get in and out of the station. But I still love the station. One of the things that I really like is that if you are handicapped, they do have a station attendant who will come over and graciously pump gas for you. I doubt seriously that you will find that at any other gas station. I personally think it's worth the effort to wait in line just for the cost savings alone. The station has been known to be sometimes $.20-$.30 less expensive or more than other local stations. The best times to stop here for gasoline or either early in the morning, or towards the end of the evening right before they close. read more

The attendant was making sure if anyone needed help and helped guiding the lines which made the lines faster. Trashes when I come to this location aren't pouring out and for the most part kept cleaner than most gas stations. Everyone knows Costco gas is at a good price And when going to any Costco gas station there will usually have long lines. This one is conveniently near a Starbucks so if you wanted to stop there and then get in line for gas it helps. Also a quick quack car wash is in the same parking lot so you can get fuel for you, then fuel for your car, and then get your car washed and cleaned all in one parking lot read more

The price is right! Gas pumps are pumping fast. This is the good thing about this Costco gas station. But this gas station is the worst gas station owned by Costco in the Sacramento area. I'm not complaining about the long lines. It is normal now with all the Costco gas stations. Who doesn't want to save money when the rest of the gas stations are selling their gas for around $6 or more per gallon. But this gas station at CalExpo is the smallest Costco gas station in the Sacramento area. The lines are out on the street all the time. Some of the drivers blocked the other drivers right at the entrance. They can't even get into the right side of the pumps a little deeper inside the gas station. The gas pumps on the left side close to the street are farther away from the entrance. The gas pumps in the middle are a little closer, and those at the right are even closely with much shorter lines. Unfortunately, many drivers are decided to wait for the most extended lines next to the entrance and block access. The entrance area is a mess all the time at this gas station. I think Costco should have workers direct the drivers before their replacement new gas station is finished. read more

Worth it for us to pop over here for gas, it feels about as quick as it does to get here from the covell side of davis to the more reasonable priced gas stations in Davis! So why not? Maybe I get here at good times but I've never waited exceptionally long to get gas, the pumps work well and will actually stay filling by themselves there's ample space to pull around if there's space at the first pump so you don't have to wait for both cars to finish and pull out. This was a short stop down the road from our hotel and we needed gas. Seems like a match made in heaven right? Welp, it basically was. I felt like the flow of this gas station is EXACTLY the same as any other one, but the clientele was challenged to use it effectively. People would wait in one line and then dash into another one right when I pump opened, cutting off others in line. The employee walked over and pointed out the error the person made in jumping lines but allowed them to continue to get gas. Weird. A pain to get to. One of the busiest Costcos in the Sacramento area. No joke. Gas station too. Odd to have the gas station across from the store by a road. The lines can get excessively long. I have seen 50+ waiting before. I only come here when the prices are way cheaper than the 2nd cheapest in my area and when I have to pay by credit card. Ok the good is def the gas prices tend to be the most competitive to the cheapest price. The gas is of good quality too I read before. The bad is that there are no tools to clean your windows (I guess they want the lines to keep moving). The attendants are better than Safeway by far and try to direct people to move say when the front car leaves and you cannot see around the car in front of you. Lines are baaaaddd. Cheaper than the gas stations around. The amount of membership per year very well pays for itself in two full ups. It's located adjacent to the Costco warehouse and surrounded by other small shops like Starbucks. It's also next to a car wash. Get your car washed or grab your coffee first whichever, then get your gas. It's located next to I-80 and HWY 160. The only issue I have is that they only accept VISA and nothing else. Other than that it's great. The lines move fairly quickly unless it is super busy. read more

Worst Costco ever. Terrible parking and snarling traffic jams, with people laying on their horns when people are blocking traffic to have a parking spot anywhere near the front of the store. No napkins, and the food dispensary is outside not in, with maybe like four tables. The gas line is so bad that people were abandoning it before committing to turning into the holding pen. I'm sure people have run out of gas waiting in that line. The entrance and exit doors are inverted from how most Costco's do it, bringing the traffic jam into the store as well, but of the human kind. read more

They have the lowest prices for gas in town! I try to go when the lines are not LONG. However, due to the lower prices, they are very popular. Drivers who are waiting to pump their gas need to pay better attention to what is going on in front of them. Being on your smartphone can wait, use both sides of the pump (they have long extendable hoses) and you can pull up to the front pump if the back pump is occupied. Also, some folks don't seem to follow signs. Coming in from the car wash is prohibited...there is a sign which says it is NOT an entrance. Get a CLUE people. I think COSTCO should look at ways to improve the traffic control for their station. There is property coming from the other direction...maybe they should inquire about purchasing that land and use the current entrance as Exits. Okay off my soapbox...LOVE COSTCO! read more

Absolutely the best prices in Sacramento to purchase gas. The only question is if you have a Costco membership and have the extra time to wait in line to get the gas. I know time is money, but if you are already shopping at Costco it's a no brainer, but if you have to drive over town to get here you have to juggle whether it's worth the time and aggravation of waiting when you get here .
