Thankfully the lines to fill up are not as bad as the ones in the States as there were more pumps per aisle. They were also self service as well. I did also visit the Costco Warehouse as well to get a few items I needed during my trip. This Costco overall wasn't too cumbersome to navigate. I was also able to use my Costco Visa from the states in Canada as well even though they only accept Mastercard. I was in and out with the stuff I purchased very quickly.

Since we're in Canada, we were excited to see poutine on the menu, and it didn't disappoint. It came with three simple ingredients: French fries (not the crispiest, but still good), cheese curds (or cheese grains, as Canadians say), and gravy. All that for $6.99 CAD. They also had a smoked meat sandwich, something I've never seen at Costco elsewhere, which was a nice surprise. Service was fast, though the food court itself was pretty chaotic with the sheer number of people after work. One fun difference from the U.S.--they serve soft-serve cones here. And not just any cones--these things looked massive. I swear some were 2 feet tall (okay, at least 1.5 feet) Very tempting, though we passed this time. In the US, there are aisle of protein powder, jerky snacks, etc. Not in Montreal as I find it more balanced. Check out Costco the next time you are overseas!

Montreal was the third international Costco I've visited, and while the layout and most items are very similar to U.S. stores, there were some fun differences. I noticed more international snacks and foods, plus slightly different pastries in the bakery section. I was also surprised to see in the freezer section the famous Montreal restaurant Schwartz's Smoked Meat -- you can actually buy their smoked meat packs right at Costco. One big difference: the famous rotisserie chicken is $8.99 CAD, compared to $4.99 USD back home. The food court was the main reason I came, and I wasn't disappointed. They had unique offerings like poutine ($6.99 CAD), and a smoked meat sandwich ($7.99 CAD), which you won't find in the States. I tried both items and thought they were good--especially the poutine, which was surprisingly delicious for coming from a Costco kitchen. Interestingly, the classic hot dog combo is still priced at $1.50 CAD, which actually makes it cheaper than in the U.S. after conversion. I've been a Costco member for years and always appreciate the savings--especially on gas--but this visit was extra fun for trying out some distinctly Canadian items. Each Costco you go to has local items so Canada of course had a lot more pastries and poutine. Yes, poutine in the food court and packs to make some at home. They also had mini chocolate croissants, nutella filled beignets....and I was surprised they still had the Kirkland hazelnut spread! Ugh, we've been wanting this forever since it disappeared in California. It's better than Nutella in our opinions. The layout was foreign of course, so we didn't explore a whole bunch but noticed that the wine/liquor area wasn't as large. The lines here weren't long and check out went fairly quickly. Overall it was a fairly calm Costco which is amazing and some regional specialties is always fun. Definitely check it out!

I know for a fact that the regular membership is $55. there is a second one that is in the hundreds but I don't know how exactly it is. I have to mention that Costco has an awesome return policy so if ever you are not satisfied with one of the product they are really flexible. I bought a dog food that my dog didn't like and it was easy for me to trade it. Now let's talk about the shopping so Costco has a little bit of everything from expensive jewelry's to electronics like laptops computers, cameras, tv. Honestly Costco has almost anything you could find. If there was a zombie a Apocalypse. This would be the place you would want to be. They offer a lot of services for example they have a garage, optometrist, photo center and also a pharmacy. Some of them even have gas station and the gas is always a few cents cheaper for some reason. Would definitely recommend the oil change They have a great price. Also if you need a passport picture. Great price! I often go to Costco for the fruits and vegetable. Not always the best price but definitely the freshest in the region. I would definitely recommend coming in with a friend and then splitting the food if you live alone. This is the perfect spot for all families.

They have plenty of your favorite items that have become staples and because this location is a little bit bigger they also stock some of the items you don't find at the other locations. The truth is the store is pretty much always busy but the lines tend to move well. The food court always has the items your looking for in stock and usually serve you pretty quickly too! Another added bonus is the gas station available to all Costco members that give you a pretty good savings!

The Long Version: I love Place Alexis Nihon because it has both a Winners AND a Marshalls, my favourite stores to shop at, lol. Well, my newest obsession is house plants, so on my on my most recent trip to Place Alexis Nihon, I had to check out this Canadian Tire to see their plant section. I was a bit surprised to see that they have a little temperature and humidity controlled greenhouse. I saw temperature and humidity gauges around and it felt warmer and more humid in there than regular indoor environments. All the other Canadian Tire stores I've been to, just have their plants in an area in their store, but not climate controlled to be different than the rest of the store. Anyway, it was fun poking around. Since I was on vacation and traveling by train, I was limited in what I could buy, so I didn't make any plant purchases, but they had really cute mini Swiss Cheese plants. I love plants with fenestrated leaves but they are mostly huge, but they had small ones here. As you all know, I'm an equal opportunity shopper, lol, I'll look at plants from big box stores as well as small plant boutiques. The store like all the others, do not have signs on the aisles to tell you what can be found on that particular night....I guess that is a corporate strategy for you to walk down all the aisles and buy stuff on impulse...LOL. The veggie are always fresh and they always have a lot of options available. I have remove a star because this costco seems to be the only one that don't carry the prana dattes. The store is always clean and I love that the staff is alway friendly. The cooked chicken is always a hit at home and is always warm and fresh.
