I have found the social experiencing pretty bad at this Costco. As a patron of colour I've been finding just a lot of hate , waving fingers, and really non colour patrons taking their anger at select population through ramming carts of people. I'm not sure if this is the boom in population in the region of Waterloo from the increased foreign worker population brought on by the temporary labour shortage. In the last year, I've had non colour people constantly ramming carts up my backside, even when I go in during the low traffic time. If this is now a thing to rage against coloured population at the Costco- I would ask the patrons to stop and talk to your local MP if you're feeling like a minority. Frankly speaking, targeting people of colour is wrong;as an essential service worker in the region of Waterloo for over a decade and schooling in the region, this is unfair to punish and target by race. My photo shows the self checkout and a prominent coloured person hater who take great joy in ramming coloured patrons. Hate has to stop. I hope Costco employees can better manage and even step in to these matters. read more

Overall good experience in the store, as always a lot of items in the warehouse. The disappointing part - food court. Ordered poutine and left home without opening it. When I arrived and sit down to eat it, I was surprised with the amount of it - the box was only half full. Never happened to me at any other location. So check if you have the full portions of the food you order there. read more

Stopped here at the Kitchener location just off of Hwy 8 to buy new marine batteries for my boat. I brought back to old ones from 5 years ago for a $10 refund each. They've served me well for the price point. Like all Costco Wholesale stores, they have a great prorated warranty policy on pretty well any device so find out before a purchase. Since I'm here, I'll also get some hot food ($1.50 hot dog & drink) before heading home. Many great store deals for Costco members but I've already spent $492 on 3 deep cycle batteries. This is our local Costco store. There are larger Costco stores out there, but it is a good size for our area. We have found that the store has great selection for the size of the store. You need a membership to shop at this store, and it costs $55 a year for the membership, plus HST. My wife and I have the executive membership, which is more expensive, but gives a 2% cash back. We have found that this works well for us, as the reward is greater than the amount that we pay extra for the executive membership, which is $100, plus HST. The staff is friendly and helpful, and have always been attentive and answered all my questions. There are times when the store is very busy and there is a long line up for the cashier to check out. There is a tire centre at this location and they also refill propane at the tire centre, which is competitively priced. There is also a pharmacy at this store as well. There is also a deli and we have purchased excellent catering platters from this location. Finally there is a fast food restaurant in the store, and you can get a hot dog and a drink for only $1.99 plus HST. What I like most about Costco is that they stand behind their products, and have always answered any questions I had with my purchases. You can returns items that you have purchased, no questions asked. This even extends to their memberships, which you can get refunded at any time. read more

Went to Costco this morning and got several items. I came home and put everything away. Then my husband came home and I was looking at my receipt to tell him what all I had purchased, only to discover that I was double charged on two separate items. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS CAREFULLY before you leave the store. After calling the store, I now have to go back to get a refund of $27.78. With most of us not working, that is quite a bit money that I would have lost. When getting to the store, there were two female staff out directing people, and they were the rudest employees ever, both to me and to another person. The other person said something back to her, and she threatened to not let him in the store - wow! read more

Costco Wholesale Kitchener Close to Tim Horton, you will find most of the stuff you need, after 3p.m. all cashiers are super busy and always line up. Cashiers are always friendly and efficient. The staff are so nice and the cashier are so profesional. Today brilliant work of cashier, tall beautiful girl and packing stuff at afternoon on June 4th, one of the reasons I allways use this Costco. This Costco is by far the best one to go to. The only downfall is there is not a gas bar but it's a great place to shop. The staff there are always willing to go the extra mile especially the staff member whose name is Darien. He is always going above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied. I bought a laptop and he was very knowledgeable on the product. He deserves a raise! The lines can get long but they will make sure they open more lanes as necessary. Compared to the Costco I use to visit in Burlington this one is a sigh of relief when it comes to not having to fight for a parking spot or just dealing with the mass of shoppers who flock to their closest Costco location. For whatever reason me and my partner never seem to have trouble in finding a parking spot (weekdays or weekends) or getting in/out of the parking lot. I also appreciate the cleanliness of this location and overall am always satisfied when leaving. Everything always seems to be in stock and the staff are helpful when needed. Definitely my go to location. read more

I love Costco but I hated the overall layout of this one. Usually they are layed out so you have an easy time getting in and out and I found this one almost seemed backwards and convoluted. The parking lot is a nightmare even compared to normal standards of Costco. The food court area is in an area too small with not enough seating. Still love Costco overall though. Wish they accepted all major credit cards though. read more

This is for the Pharmacy in the Kitchener ON, location. Worst service ever, I got a call from them about the HEP A scare (from those frozen berries) I called my family doctor to get them to send a Vaccine to the Costco pharmacy so I would just get the vaccine after I was done with my shopping, and I called the costco pharmacy to let me know once they received it. The pharmacy never called me back. Then I called costco to find out was going on, just for them to hang up on me. After I called again they told me they received the vaccine but the nurse was not in that day and suggested I should call another day to make sure the nurse was in before I went there. I did call again a few days later just for them to tell me the didn't have a nurse anymore and that they couldn't send the vaccine back to my doctor, that I had to go and pick it up. This review is solely for the Optometrist office of Costco... Not to be confused with the Optical department. I will preface by saying that the Optical department is actually quite awesome! They are fast and friendly, and quite knowledgeable. No issues there! HOWEVER I made an appointment with the Optometrist department to have a check-up. I happened to arrive really early, so I poked my head in to see if there was a possibility that they could take me sooner than my appointment, in hopes of saving their and my time. Unfortunately I was huffed at by the oh-so-pleasant receptionist (I will discuss her in a moment), and told to come back at my scheduled time. Fine, no problem to me, I'll just do some walking around inside Costco to kill time. So I return to the Optometrist office - on time, mind you - and have the pre-test completed by the receptionist. I'm not sure why they let her do it since she can't, or doesn't know how to do it right because she told me she'd have to get the Optometrist to do it for her. Now the good part. I'm inside the room getting my check-up, and the Optometrist puts some drops in my eyes at the end, and instructs me to wait five minutes in the waiting room and she'll bring me back in to finish up. She brings me back in after five minutes, finishes up, and I'm good to go. I get two steps outside the door when my husband, whom was accompanying me, told me that while I was being examined by the Optometrist, the receptionist was LISTENING TO OUR CONVERSATION WITH HER EAR PRESSED TO THE DOOR. My husband was extremely uncomfortable with that, and he suggested to her to not listen to our conversation, and she blatantly replied, "I am privileged to listen to their conversation". I turned right around and went back into the office and confronted the receptionist with this information, who admitted to having listened with her ear to the door. WOW. I'd like to mention that her actions were likely due to the fact that she wanted to be done early as clearly displayed by her ear to the door (perhaps to see if we would be done soon?), lunch bag and purse neatly packed up sitting on top of the desk, tapping her nails, and my husband said the driver of her ride (waiting outside) had come in and checked to see if she would be done soon. I was shopping with my family at this Costco store in Kitchener and I decided to write this review as I cannot believe the level of bad customer service on the cashier that scanned my merchandise. The name of the lady is Melissa. After over $300 dollars worth of merchandise was scanned , i have asked if I can pay with my debit card since both my father and I both have a card. It's worth mentioning that my father had already upgraded his card to executive and we scanned his card since we are getting more points. We are on the same account with two family members. After I had explained the situation, this lady , Melissa , said i cant pay cause i don't have a costco membership card. I pulled out my card to show that I am a member as well and she continued to insist that I can't pay. The lady helping her figured out what was going on and she told me to pay that i'm ok to pay for the purchase. The next action of the cashier floored me and pushed me to write this review. Melissa addressed me and she said :" You need to learn how to speak". I can't believe that someone in customer service can make this statement and continue to be an employee with benefits and definitely better salary than Walmart or other stores. While I have an accent , I have lived in Canada for over 13 years and I graduated a university here. I am seriously debating renewing my membership thanks to the ignorant experience I had last time I was there. I was passing by and decided to stop in real quick to grab a few things. I had forgotten my wallet but had a bit of cash on me that I could make due. I did not realize it was time for my renewal until it was my turn to pay. The cashier told me I needed to renew, I thought she was reminding me, so I thought okay next time I arrive I will renew. My bill of $30.00 came to over $100. I questioned the price and she said she added the renewal. I asked if I could renew next time I was there as I didn't bring my bank card and didn't know my renewal was due. The cashier was very rude, and yelled (literally yelled) for her Supervisor. The Supervisor came over, the cashier explained the situation with a very annoyed tone to the Supervisor. The Supervisor was rude, talked down to me and said very loudly so everyone could here "If you don't renew your membership YOU CAN'T BUY ANYTHING!" I explained my situation and she refused to let me make my purchase. Not only was it embarrassing, both the cashier and the Supervisor made me feel horrible. I just left everything and walked away. The treatment I received was horrible and not worth the membership. read more
