First time at this location. Not too busy- just the way I was hoping it would be at 10:30am. I am convinced that all Costco locations are not the same. Costco locations will carry something a little different. I have been to four different locations in the last 3 weeks. Why? Because I am looking for the Crunch Bites. I had it one time at the Fremont location and I cannot find it since. I'm hoping they will carry it again. The wafers... a couple of locations have carried the vanilla and then the cocoa wafer bags. I went to this location and they carried the original green/red bags. There are a few other items that I've been on the hunt for. I really enjoyed the gas line. Not more 3 cars in front of me. Not busy at all. The longest I've waited for gas(Fremont location) 35mins. The price has been cheaper as well. read more

Tire center is straight AWFUL. Jeff who works there is a jerk over the phone. Falsely cites a policy that he stated was clear of "ALL Costcos" but when I go to the Stockton tire center they help my problem without lip. I used to love coming to this costco because the lines were short and the staff were nice... Well I do not know what has been going on lately but this Costco must be hiring employees from the gutter or something. I came in recently with my grandfather for to stock up on our usual rice and water among other things. We usually buy bulk as they live on a farm and I am unable to get them groceries weekly... Well I guess with this coronavirus scare these two employees named Kimmy and Sharon decide to give us dirty looks among other dirty remarks about our race. Just because there are other Asians buying bulk out of fear... Does not mean you should generalize and make assumptions. Please save those dirty stares for the mirror. This Costco doesn't have many Asian food items but it does have a variety of Hispanic food items. While exploring the Costco's around the area, we came to this one looking for unique items that are not sold in the east coast. It has a decent selection and the staff was friendly which is always a plus. Similar to other Costco's, this place got packed in the morning specially at the gas station. read more

The cashier LAURA has the worst customer service if you are a minority. This woman was rude to us as we where checking out and could have been a little more informative of new store policies if she care about doing her job right. Then she when and continue talking about us with the customer behind us ( yes a white lady).. Rude as can be.. sorry but learn to treat everyone with respect and have a better attitude. The lady at the door was busy talking and there was a line of people behind me to get in. So several people just walked by. Then she shouts at me several times tracking me down to see my membership card which I had out the whole time but she was too busy visiting with someone to notice. Worst service at this Costco. The staff is incredibly rude. The cashier Laura V is a complete B, no sense of customer service at all. She's rude beyond words and completely unacceptable in the way she speaks to customers.. I will never come to this Costco again. I'd rather drive to the next town than deal with employees like her again. Ask a simple question, she has a snooty response. I attempt to insert the card for my disabled family member and she says either "she has to do it" as (she gestures to The disabled person) or we have to pay cash.. like what type of sense does that make; she sitting right here watching me insert her card for her because she's unable to, yet Laura says no because she's clearly a dictator who gets off on being rude to disabled people and bullying customers who keep her employer by shopping at Costco..disgusting. Then icing on the cake- The front door lady checking the receipts as you leave on 5/16 around 330pm- also incredibly rude. I've been to a couple of Costco's across Northern California. They are all pretty much the same, so I will say I do particularly like this location because of the friendliness of the staff, how fast the lines go and the price of their gas. Many times I was always able to get help from someone here and with no problems, I have always received the help with a genuine smile. When I'm done shopping, I go to the lines which do seem intimidating, but the lines over here go really fast, and that's always soothing. No one wants to spend 20+ minutes in line just waiting to check out. The last thing I want to bring up is the gas prices. Manteca Costco always seems to have one of the best gas prices around the area, and I admire that. Depending on what time of day you go, the lines can be a little long, but for the price, it is worth the wait. Overall, this is a really decent Costco to shop at! read more

I'm usually always extremely satisfied with Costco. I was just a little disappointed when I visited on November 30 to purchase all of my gift wrapping supplies for Christmas. There was plenty of bows, tape, scissors and gift tags. But, absolutely NO gift wrapping paper at all. I was going to purchase all of the other things and decided that wasn't a good idea because I typically like to match up the bows and tags with the wrapping paper. So, just a little bummed because I wanted to get a head start for once! Lol read more

She told me the small cake didn't have enough room for her to "sculpt" the rim & net, but added she'd do it somehow. Mission accomplished! We got the cake my son wanted & the theme I asked for. I'm a Costco fan because they always have the best meat with comparable prices. Produce is sometimes a hit and miss but their return policy is extremely good. I live in Stockton but prefer shopping at the store in Manteca because it's less crowded and finding parking is easier in my opinion. They also seem to cater to shoppers preferences as my son pointed out while visiting me from the Los Angeles. I also heard that their employees are paid fairly which in itself encourages me to keep shopping there. read more

If I could give zero or negative stars I would. The tire center at the Manteca Costco is just horrible. I spoke with someone on the phone about specific sizes tires that I would need to order. He tells me we can order and install them and to come in to place the order. I go in at my lunch and try to place the order and all the guys there make it difficult and tell me the tires I was quoted cannot be installed by Costco and that they couldn't find any at the warehouse when I was told they were available. Complete waste of my time. I will never buy tires from Costco Manteca ever. read more

I bought mozzarella shredded cheese about 1 week ago at Costco. I come to open it up today and found mold. I have never had this happen to me before so I was shocked when I found this. Worst customer service I ever experienced at any Costco in my life for the past 20 years. I purchased some clothes at the Manteca location today for my mom. The cashier guy and gal (named Felicia) rudely threw them on the watery belt counter. When I specifically asked to be please respect these items, the guy lectured me that "you will wash them before wearing them anyway." Costco, we pay the membership $120 annually to shop in your store, it is not free at all like Walmart or Target. Thus, do something to improve your customer service. read more

Always has good clothing selection and home goods. No photo center at this location. They do an excellent job at making sure everyone wears their mask. People don't stay 6feet apart at the checkout lines but that's probably because the spots on the floor have been erased from all the foot traffic. They have sales on items if you are patient enough to wait two or three weeks! Lots of furniture and luggage on floor year round. read more

The only reason I come out this far to this particular Costco is for the organic Dave's Killer Bread! Seriously, it's the best item Dave created along with his other bread varieties. I am giving this Costco location only 2 stars, but I really want want to give it 1. I am sure there are a couple good workers here that have pride in a such a great company. Too bad, 2 stars! I've shopped here three times, and all those visits it's the same issue. The food sample people are rude as hell. I remember heading to the bathroom and these food cart ladies come out with their carts not in a single file line, blocking walk ways and rushing to their locations. One younger lady side swiped me with her cart, didnt even say "excuse me" or apologized, instead mugged me as if I'm in the way. The workers here doesn't know their way around the store, I would ask for certain items I usually buy at the Modesto location, and you know how every Costco is set up differently. This costco is awesome. Very clean and usually the line isn't too bad. I recommend coming to this location over certain other. Everything here is well organized and clean. Nothing is off set or needing attention. One thing to people that doesn't have the food court outside which is nice when it is really busy inside. The staff is way more friendly than the Modesto location. Also staff has a lot more urgency that a lot of other location. I recommend highly to check out this location definitely one of the better locations in my mind. read more

So far, I've had memberships with BJ's Wholesale (east coast only) and Sam's Club. BJ's Wholesale had the best food but Sam's Club is conveniently many places. My only real experience with Costco is where I worked in Florida. The company bought many things there, including the food for our "mini-social". Back then, they didn't seem to want new members, and I ended up at the other two stores. Now, far away from the east coast, I have choices--Costco or drive quite a while. I decided to take a trip to this store to see what they had, to see if I wanted to join. I waited and waited and waited and waited. The woman at the membership desk said that they don't allow non-members to see the store ahead of time any longer. Apparently, random people walking around the store would be a problem, somehow. I filled out the paperwork and waited and waited and waited. I paid the $55.00, and they got my mug shot and slapped it onto a card. For all the hype, I don't see how this is any different than the other two warehouse stores. I thought the prices were exceptionally high; perhaps because they have no competition. I guess I should have asked if they had a membership refund policy in place. Of course, going on the weekend is a bit crazy with all of the people who go just to sample. Around every corner they seem to be dishing out assorted crap that you'd never buy regularly. Well, maybe YOU would. I don't know YOU. A lot of the brands seemed odd (I believe Kirkland is their store brand), but maybe that's because they're from Washington. I'm still trying to find some really good reason to shop there. Fuel isn't one of them, I'm sure. When I asked about diesel, the woman asked "What's that?" The store seems full-featured with a large area for snack bar patrons to be seated. Most tables were full. People seemed to be happy enough spending their money there. read more

Just had the worst customer service ever. Was treated very poorly. Our family has been a member of Costco for years but today we were very disappointed especially because the bad service was given by a supervisor by the name of Tina w. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. Was actually pulled out of my pay line and spoken to rudely because she did not want to take my cash card. Said it was only for returns?? That was a first for me. I visited this Costco not long ago. Since this big "pandemic" started lol. And, they were yelling at customers disrespectfully as if they were drill sergeants, telling them where to line up etc. I left my cart right where it was, went to customer service desk, and got a full refund on the rest of my membership. Your employees need to learn how to properly interact with guests. Surprised none have lost any teeth yet, to be honest. However, you are losing a lot of money over it, I was not the only one getting a full refund that day alone. Very rude, very disrespectful. They don't know how to act, I don't know who they think they are, but they're only Costco employees lol. Maybe they should join the army, military, and actually make a difference. read more

I've shopped here twice in the last couple of weeks and had extremely RUDE cashiers both times. One reprimanded me for wanting to charge part of my purchase to my mom's card (I am her guardian and she lives with me) and told me she should have HER OWN card. The second one threw a fit because I wanted a subtotal....the items were clearly separated at the register and I informed her beforehand that I wanted a subtotal. She got irritated with me when I mentioned the separated orders as she continued to ring everything up together. To top it off, she overcharged me in the process of re-correcting her mistake...now I have to go back and deal with that mess. I will avoid shopping at this location from now on. I don't want to leave ANY store feeling frustrated that I spent my money there. If their employees are that unhappy, they need to find another job. read more
