It is always a dilemma for me, when it comes to going to Costco. Should I pay and absorb the large count of each item, or should I go somewhere else, for a smaller quantity of the item? The truth is, if you go to another store the same item is much higher in price and buying it at Costco, for a slightly higher price is worth it, because you get more on the count. Also, Costco generally has high quality products, that includes, their in house Kirkland brand. What is still unnerving is the human traffic of large carts and people at the store. They line up outside before opening as if tomorrow will be the big SFV earthquake. Once they are inside, they speed with their carts, as if there is an upcoming tsunami, and must get out soon, so that they can get into their cars, before the water takes them away. But there is a workable solution to this, at least for now. If you have an Executive Membership, you get access to the store at 9 am (during weekdays), instead of 10 am for regular card members. Then stay focused, have your list and do not mind playing some musical products (they move their stuff around every day, to confuse you), so you buy more, while looking for your product. And you will. However, this Executive Membership maybe your salvation. Where I am concerned, it is totally worth its value. Yes, I may have conquered the crowds, the stress and the blood pressure spikes. Like you, I will still be going back to Costco. read more

An employee walks around and scans customers items before they hit the register, but they pick and choose who they want to help. *Self check out is only card payments *Seeing dogs in the store. *Ordering a Large pizza and always getting asked if I placed an order over the phone. Costco is currently selling giant, soft plushie dolls for less than $50 - they have golden retriever, red panda, chupacabra, and raccoon. It's bigger than an adult. Great to buy as a gift for people of all ages and take up a bunch of space in their home to cuddle with or to lay on. read more

Chicken Tenders at Costco are New! I had to try them. Think McNugget Sweet and Sour Sauce but a little more elevated. Priced at $6.99 without tax the pieces of chicken were nice. Wish they had BBQ. It was decent, it wasn't amazing. It definitely was baked so the texture was not crispy and sitting under the Heat lamp. read more

Costco is our go to place for parties, pantry supply run and office stuff. They also have great gas prices and their food court is da bomb for pizza, ice cream, cookies and that $1.50 hotdog with soda. We also buy their forever $4.99 rotisserie chicken for emergency lunches and whatever samples on sale. We always do the self service checkout as it is faster and shorter line. Membership is $65 but they offered me a $45 gift card so I only paid $20 this year abd that rebate check pays for the membership anyways read more

My husband and I took his service dog with us to this location. A male manager grilled him for 3 minutes straight, asking very uncomfortable questions about his medical condition and why he needed a service animal. He concluded by saying "I'll allow the animal in the store but if it pees inside, you won't be welcome back." As a manager of Costco, you're representing the entire company. Please make the customer feel welcome and at home. Those with medical needs should also be extended that courtesy. read more

This is pretty much the only Costco that I do go to. It's very convenient and the closest one to my house. It is always packed no matter what time you do go and they do have a lot of parking, but usually for some reason it can't take you a while to find your parking if you want to park close. They have really good service here at all times and people are always in a good mood and they do go out their way to help you. That's what I do like at this location. They always have a huge selection and fully stocked at all times. Very good deals and they do have the best rotisserie chicken for only about $5.00. I come here to get certain things that I always need ! They always have what you want here! The self checkout goes by fast too! This review is for the poke I purchased at the Northridge Costco, which is in no way over-hyped. After a slightly disappointing poke bowl purchase earlier in the week at a local Japanese grocery store, I had to try out Costco's poke. It's frequently sold out, so this was my first opportunity to try it. They had 3 kinds available - sriracha salmon, spicy ahi tuna, and wasabi ahi tuna. I purchased all 3 to bring home and share with my husband and mother in law. It will definitely serve us for a meal or 3 each. I made my own rice and seasoned it with rice vinegar and furikake, and topped it with butter lettuce that I added some yuzu ponzu to, and cut up some seaweed to top the poke. The poke definitely hit the spot, and made up for the disappointing poke earlier in the week! This will be a regular in my meal rotation! read more

My wife and I were visiting in laws in the valley over the weekend. I know, Costco on a Sunday is an idiotic idea, but Costco in the Sacramento area is still doable. This Northridge location though. 8/20/2025- I ordered two Rabbit Sphere Clear Ice Tray × 2 from Costco online but found out it does not work. Searching online found out a low rating. This morning, when I returned the item, the entire team (or four staffers) spent 35 minutes but just could not find out the item in the Costco system. I was advised to go home to bring the original invoice or the order number so that the internal Costco system can quickly find it. I had no choice but went home to find my original invoice. This afternoon, when I brought my original invoice to the Costco store, they still could not find the item. I was advised not to shop under the "Costco NEXT" in the future. Thank Mario for a 2-minute help by using my email address found on the invoice - Bingo! I personally told Mario's boss to give Mario a thumbs up or praise Mario's technique and share Mario's technique with her team so that any future Costco customers would not spend hours to return this low-rating product. I have had good shopping experiences at the Northridge Costco Warehouse overall. Their product selection and prices are the main reason to come to this store. I enjoy the layout of the products as there are always plenty of options to look at. The customer service is great and the employees are generally very efficient. There are some inconveniences that are worth mentioning, but they do not warrant the reduction of a star. The main one being waiting in line. I do not like waiting in line, and while they are generally pretty quick and streamlined, due to the sheer volume of shoppers, you still have to wait in it. Its unavoidable, but part of the process. Also it can be difficult to get a good parking spot. I personally do not mind parking farther, as I enjoy walking, but if you do not prefer this I would suggest to avoid shopping during peak hours. Overall these issues are common with large warehouse-style retailers, so I do not mind dealing with them. I think that the overall shopping experience is satisfactory, and the food court is a good bonus if you are looking for a bite to eat. The food is basic, but it is consistent and if you are hungry it definitely hits the spot after walking around the store. read more

Lines extending to the back of the store with minimal registers open, no line buffers or anyone directing the lines while FIVE managers are all standing to the side laughing and having a grand old time while our groceries are thawing out in line. Costco has so many amazing plants, I definitely recommend the plants they have there. Last year I bought several rose bushes, and they are so healthy and look so beautiful in my yard. The roses from Costco have grown taller and more vibrant than any of the "fast growing trees" roses I purchased at around the same time. In addition, the Costco pharmacy has been really helpful in helping save money with my and my dog's prescriptions. Getting prescriptions straight from the vet is pricey, then tried to call Walmart pharmacy and a few other places, and all of them were more expensive. You can always pick up your prescriptions without a Costco card, but you do have to have a costco card in order to get the best discount with the Costco Pharmacy. read more

I used to enjoy coming to this Costco, but unfortunately we had a really disappointing experience today. I understand Sundays are busy, and I know the staff is aware of that. I was trying to purchase a large TV, so I politely asked an employee in the electronics area where I could find a flat cart. He told me to look outside and mentioned it was busy, and to just look around for one but the way he said it came across as very rude. I went outside and couldn't find a cart. When I came back in, I saw one that wasn't being used, so my sister and I started loading the heavy TV onto it ourselves. The same employee walked by and didn't offer any assistance, which was frustrating but we continued anyway. After we finally got the TV onto the cart, he came back, took the cart from us, and told us he needed it for another customer. At that point, the interaction felt extremely disrespectful and rude because of his tone. I was so overwhelmed and annoyed that I decided not to continue with the purchase at all. I didn't get his name, but he was an older, tall white man working in electronics. Customer service should always include basic courtesy and respect. If someone can't provide that, they probably shouldn't be working in a customer-facing role. read more

The parking lot and entrance to Costco is a little odd. Can't describe why but it just doesn't make sense to me. Regardless, I think the selection is great. There are a few more options here than I would at the Simi Valley one and much prefer this one than Topanga! My husband and I come here once a month and spend $200-$300 for mostly proteins and produce. All other niches things we buy elsewhere. We find that we get a good bang for our buck. You have opinions in the store so why not just go there and chop some up? I know this sounds dumb but I don't like hot dogs without onions so it was a waste of calories for me. Second visit was me needing to go the pharmacy. I am not an executive member and had to go to the pharmacy. I was 15 minutes early when only executives could go. The woman scanning memberships was real YOU CANT GO IN HERE!!!! when I explained I was going to the pharmacy. She had me wait by her to call a coworker to stand with me on the pharmacy line the whole time. It was extremely intrusive and made me feel like I was with a police officer or something being chaperoned. I was one person and didn't even have a shopping cart with me. WTF? Overall pleasant experiences. I come by 1-2 times a month for years. POKE is my personal favorite and must buy each visit. Sometimes I come just for the fresh POKE. The new station is great, and now doesn't have a long line(based on my last few times between 5pm-6:30pm during the week!). Like first time ever ! Two free air stations near the tire store. Easy to use and fast. Generally less congestion than Woodland Hills location . Though usually Woodland Hills location has more Asian food items. The food court kind of sucks, but that's all Costco now that they have set up with kiosk only. I really dislike it, one of the dumbest moves by Costco. I usually stay away during the whole month of December, but we had to go last night weds 12-18-24 around 6:30pm and I was shocked it was crazy packed. Maybe inflation prices has slowed down purchases? (I can notice big increases at most items ). And if you must, rest rooms are consistently clean. read more

Very disappointing experience at Costco Northridge. I've been a Costco Executive Member for 15+ years and have always had positive experiences--until now. After checkout, the cashier (Carman R) ask another cashier ​change another box of tomato due to "weight," implying I had tampered with it which I already paid for that Another employee checked and come with another box of tomato confirmed both boxes were identical in weight and amounts, proving there was no issue. Being treated like I was trying to cheat the system--without any evidence--is disrespectful and unacceptable. This kind of behavior shows a lack of professionalism and proper training. As a loyal customer who spent over million for over 15 years. I expect better treatment. Management should address this and ensure staff do not make baseless assumptions about customers. Fantastic Costco location. Easy in and out with a co located gas station. THis particular Costco is set up like most and follows the typical layouts you will find in a clockwise direction. We found the deal of the decade here. Merrel Moab 3 Mids for $45.00 instead of the usual 160 I pay. Aside from that as always we have rules we follow The RULES! 1) NEVER EVER go in hungry. That 25 gallons of dill pickle chips is much easier to resist on a full stomach.... true story there. 2) Avoid the free samples. People seem to lose their minds with this stuff. They abandon carts with crying babies, block isles, etc all to get that tiny portion of hummus. I have been shoved aside by someone desperate to get a free piece of cheese. Honestly I have seen more dignity from actual starving people in a disaster zone but I digress. 3) Avoid the weekends like the plague. 4) See #1 5) Go often. Costco uses alot of psychology and the fear of missing out is one of them. Odd items you must have pop up then go never to return. I CAN'T MISS OUT AGGGGGGG 6) Know your codes: At costco any price ending in 0.97 means it has been marked down. Any price that is not a 0.99 or .97 such as say 0.49 means it has a manufacturers discount. and price with an * aka "The Death Star" on it means its done and will not be reordered so stock up. If it ends in a .00 or a 0.88 a manager has reduced the price at that location to clear it out. 7) When in an unfamiliar city head to the Costco. They always stock local items you can't find at yours (like two pounds of single origin Kona coffee for 30.00 at the Kilaua / Kona store etc.) and have cheap gas. (Same on Kauai) read more

It's a great location with plenty of parking space. I must say that almost everyone at Costco seems to want to park inside the store, if possible. Some people will wait in their cars for 10 minutes just to get a closer parking spot. This store, I love and hate at the same time. I love because they have everything I need and want, but hate it because I mostly always end up buying more stuff that wasn't on my list to begin with. Omg! I had the best experience in the optical department as well as the greeter who was there in the afternoon. Wish I had taken her name bc she answered my questions about the different types of Costco Membership on July11th around 5pm. I had been there earlier in the optical department to get fitted for a new pair of glasses and new prescription. Rosemarie went above and beyond! She even cleaned my glasses and the two friends who accompanied me. They too have bought their glasses here and they were so pleased with RoseMarie's cheerful and friendly attitude. She was very accommodating and gave us excellent customer service! Honestly, this has been by far my best experience at Northridge Costco. It made me want to come back again and again. I am so happy that there are kind souls even though we have been going through a lot in LA. I appreciate that others still show kindness and they have a smile on their faces. I am most definitely recommending this Costco Optical to my friends and I will ask them to ask for RoseMarie and her manager who was also very friendly and courteous! read more

We like this Costco staff is friendly and helpful. It gets really busy on the weekends so try Mondays. Came after work and got what we needed and left. The returns was fast and easy; it's usually a long line, but it goes fast. Restroom is always clean. Very disappointed with the automotive battery experience at Costco Wholesale. In my opinion, the current Interstate battery program is not consumer-friendly compared to Costco's previous warranty policy. The batteries I purchased did not last close to the expected lifespan, and I was frustrated to learn that the old full replacement warranty policy had changed. What used to be one of the best reasons to buy a battery from Costco no longer feels like a good value. Customers should carefully review the current warranty terms before purchasing. Based on my experience, these batteries are not lasting as long as expected, and the prorated warranty process leaves customers paying again much sooner than they anticipated. I hope Costco reconsiders its battery policy or offers a different brand with better long-term reliability and customer support. Until then, I personally would not recommend buying automotive batteries here. read more

And not to mention the affordable food and the free food tasting experience. By the time, you finish shopping and reach the register, your belly is happy and not grumpy. What can I say, I love Costco. Not sure why every Costco does not have 5 stars all the way around. Any Costco I have visited from the mainland to Hawaii, I always have an excellent experience. Costco has amazing deals and great quality. Their Kirkland brand rivals any out there, better in many cases and a lot less than the name brand. This particular Costco has their food court inside, which is nice to sit and eat in the AC vs some locations where the food court is outside. But most days in So. Cal. Are so nice that sitting outside is also nice. The Hot Dog and Soda is still a $1.50 after many, many years. I do miss the Polish sausage though and the Sauerkraut, please bring them back. Nice they have onions again, but you have to ask for them. Weather you are in the mood for snacks, need to go on a grocery run, looking for tires, furniture or just cruising the aisles getting free samples, etc. Costco has you covered. They also have an amazing return policy and the stores are clean and welcoming. You do have to have a membership to shop there, but you will end up getting more cash back than your membership cost is with basic shopping. Gas alone is worth it, that will save you a good amount of cash over the course of a year. Don't forget to take advantage of all their other services beyond the big box, Travel, Insurance, eye exams and glasses, car purchases, AC, solar, kitchen remodel, etc. so many great ways to save.
