Somehow I accumulated a bunch of regular-fit shirts, including polos, that just didn't look good. And some uniforms that were also unprofessional looking. They tailored my polos, uniform shirts, uniform pants, jeans, and a dress shirt. All fit perfect now. They even matched the color of the stitching on my jeans, a small touch that I wasn't expecting. Prices are average, but the turn-around is usually within a day or two, and they did a great job. Will be bringing a few more clothes again soon. One thing - I don't think anyone here speaks English, so if you don't speak Portuguese you might want to bring a friend.

They are bricked homes, like any other home, but they are more bare bones, no windows, open windows all year round, no glass. The favelas are not usually well built and thus don't tend to last, mostly made from brick and cement. Most have running water as well as electricity. These poorly structured favelas can make it difficult to fit them with plumbing and electricity. Favelas grew as migration to Brazil increased and favelas make up for around 6% or so of the housing in Brazil.

I'd imagine this is a throwback to 100 years ago when you knew the man who cobbled your shoes. While inside, I met a family who had been buying shoes here for two generations. Petropolis is a quaint Brazilian town with European flare and it screamed for the longest for a good music venue with a more eclectic style. Well, this place fits all. I was so happy to first see the beautiful property that the venue is in place. Huge property with Recording Music studios, that also is rented out for band's rehearsals. The room where the live music takes place is beautifully decorated and it has a rustic home feel to it. there's a large balcony with a seating area with a beautiful view. It was a Monday night and i couldn't believe the good quality of the band playing...they interacted with the public and the Bossa Nova jazz/Folk Jazz/Pop Jazz that I was listening made me dance all night...and that's how that involved a jazz lover that is more of a jazz listener and not a jazz dancer. The food is simple but delicious! I had to compliment the chef on a Ground Beef Empanada (Pastel de carne) that was out of this world. The wine selection is limited, but nice. There are other drinks for non-wine lovers. I highly recommend this place. It is a comforting, relaxing, and multi sensorial experience.
