At the very least you need a blanket to cover the hay bale. The music will blow you away. Accordion music from all over the world - Hungarian, Cajun, classical, French - all here, all wonderful. I enjoyed everything. Go early for decent parking. There are tons of vendors. No outside food allowed and only one water bottle per person. They will search your bag. Lots of food vendors - we bought containers of food from Brothers (hummus, garlic spread, olives, pitas, baklava,etc) and the kettle corn was delicious. Also bought lots of merchandise - festival had past years tee shirts and the bands had clothing and CDs. There's a great play area for the kids, and lots of bathrooms - a mix of conventional and porta potties. The people who put this on are epically nice volunteers and they do a magnificent job. I enjoyed every second and I'll be back next year! (We stay in Windsor and go to both days of the festival.)

I had the meatloaf dinner and my girlfriend had the fish & chips. Both were a large portion. Possibly the best meatloaf I've ever had? So good especially the sauce on the meatloaf. The fish & chips with 3 large pieces of fish and plenty of french fries with coleslaw slaw on the side. When we first sat down and greeted by Sieana we had our waters filled and drink orders taken. I believe one of the managers brought us out a small dish of house potato chips and a homemade ranch dip...LOL...My girlfriend loves her chips! Overall a really excellent Sunday afternoon meal out with my girlfriend. We then hit the casino floor for some fun. She won a few hundred and I lost same. All in all a day out having fun. The pool was a perfect temp. Mango margaritas and other beverages hit the spot. The food menu poolside could be a little larger given what is available at the food court but overall, a really good time. Also, as a person with Cerebral Palsy, on crutches, I found the area around the pool to be exceptionally walkable, not slippery at all. Bathroom was spacious and generally the entire area is easily accessible. We'll be back

It is wise to step outside your environment and, in the case of this current venture, go visit an Alpaca farm. The Menagerie Hill ranch has beautiful animals. The host was awesome and knowledgeable. We increased our knowledge of the animals and of the farm but also got to feed them. We also had the opportunities to get close and personal with them for pictures. They were all friendly and fluffy. I recommend this unique experience for all because if you do not just break your usual pattern to stop and smell the roses or to pet and feed an Alpaca, life will pass by before you know it. Put your life on pause just for a few hours and go see the Alpacas. They would like to share peace with you. You can find them at the Menagerie Hill Ranch

This was a memorable trip. We were originally slated to visit in late June before my birthday but…read moreboth Deb and Kirk were recovering from surgery. We stayed in touch over the next several weeks before settling on an August date. We braved the high temps and winding roads to arrive at the ranch. It's a beautiful space on a hillside and you can see the herd and their guardian llama as you pull into the parking lot. We learned a lot about the alpaca life cycle, fed the boys, and my daughter got to hold and carry a cria. We bought two cute alpaca shaped soaps. I didn't experience any of the negativity others have complained about. It is a working ranch so it's not a petting zoo or a tourist attraction. Go with the flow and you'll have a great experience.

Live music is playing, children are having fun at the water fountain, and the people are just chilling. The stalls and local shops are of great variety! There are some jewelry, crafts, Some cute keychains that my daughter was drawn into, pastry stalls, fruits and veggies and more! The high spirited 20 piece brass band plays New Orleans style tunes as well as other diverse musical genres. I found them totally by chance at the Fillmore Jazz Festival. Seems like they were having as much fun performing for the crowd as the crowd was enjoying listening to their music. Can't wait to hear them again! BTW. I read that one of the co-founders has a PhD in ethnomusicology at the University of California, Berkeley. Just goes to show you that sometimes great music isn't entirely accidental.

A beautiful day and perfect hours for the event that featured the Press Democrat Top 100 wines of Sonoma County and a delightful & diverse mixture of local restaurants food offerings. Fortunately we were able to taste the Top rated Taft Street Rose, which limited production has since sold out, but was truly amazing for a lighter red. Handline, a new comer restaurant served a wonderfully fresh, simply prepared halibut. So many, too many to mention both food & wine tastings, it can be a little overwhelming but it's also a treat to have them all in one tidy, eco friendly Sonoma State Campus hosted event.
