We started with the asparagus app. I thought the breading was too thick but my wife liked it. I had a fish stew. It was tomato based and included mussels, shrimp, and fish. The fish were all well cooked and the dish was tasty. My wife had the salmon and béarnaise. The salmon had been hammered and was dry and tough and the béarnaise was thick and separated. Cote did notice that my wife ate almost nothing of her main and comped dessert. Dessert was a strawberry-rhubarb mess. This was very tasty, I took the photo after we were done.

I didn't realize before my trip how connected Edinburgh is with France. As it turns out, there are a number of amazing French restaurants in Edinburgh. Cote's dinner selection was amazing with a perfect mix of higher end meals and comfort food. The desserts were tasty without being too rich. The service was fantastic and I can't wait to come back and try Cote again!

Eggs Benedict Florentine & Fully cooked breakfast special!

We came for breakfast today and it was perfect! I had the eggs Benedict Florentine and my husband had the fully cooked breakfast special that includes a juice and a hot drink for about 10.95gbp. Both meals were delicious! My eggs Benedict were soft and delicate and the sautéed spinach added the most excellent savory flavor! We also had a mocha and a cafe creme. The mocha was far superior to the cafe creme. Very friendly staff and cozy interior. Great location...perfect way to start a day of sightseeing!

Absolutely fabulous lunch. Place is cute on the outside but doesn't look particularly special. Ate in the back room and loved loved it! Sausages with lentils were outstanding. Pam fried chicken also outstanding. Will definitely come back the next trip to Edinburgh!

Even though this is considered a "chain" it was an amazing meal. We got there before 7om and had there 3 courses for 14 pounds . My appetizer was langoustines popcorn style with a delicious sauce. My friend had the artichoke hearts to die for. For the entrees I had the most delicious sea bass with mash and fennel salad . My friend had a really tasty steak frites . Then the deserts ! Chocolate mousse and chocolate pot - wonderful . To top it all of, delicious full bodied red for 22 pounds. Service was terrific !

Lovely bistro in the centre of town. Good quality, tasty French fare. Faultless service. Could easily become a firm favourite in town.

Food was amazing, staff were super friendly and helpful. Plenty of options and a really nice friendly place for breakfast!! Would 10/10 recommend

    Crepe Complete. Delicious.

The seating was comfy, and the restaurant was clean and bright, with several excellent options. The restaurant is a higher end, but they have a lovely lunch/bar menu they allowed us to order from even though it was dinner time. My husband opted for a burger, and I got the Caesar salad. It was beautiful indeed and the service was good. At first glance at the menu I was a little disappointed because I was in the mood for brunch type of food, but settled on the sourdough bread with crab. The crab was smothered in butter, but tasted so good...and Edinburgh had some of the best sourdough bread I've experienced! The menu was a bit sophisticated for our teens, but there was a kids menu for them to order from. They enjoyed an order of fish sticks and french fries. If I were to come back I'd probably go for dinner over lunch since I think their menu is better suited for that, but overall was a lovely meal.

So, armed with a great desire to eat the best, and without any reservation (but later in the evening), we marched down the Royal Mile to the restaurant and looked as hopeful as possible when we walked in. Our hopes were answered with a quick delivery of my wife and me to a nice table for two and the dessert menu. We shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was the first one we had in Scotland and the one that became the litmus test for all the others. It was REALLY GOOD. The sauce it was coated with was rich and premium...the cake was perfect with the perfect amount of spices in it to make it all feel very indulgent and perfect. Honestly, every Sticky Toffee Pudding we had after this one was a little bit of a disappointment. Thanks, Wedgewood The Restaurant, for giving us a space late one June night, and for the best Sticky Toffee Pudding we've ever had.

I ordered the cheese course(yum!) and sticky toffee was my husbands choice. Empty plates all around. I don't drink alcohol but they had a lovely NA Sauvignon from South Africa. Perfect. This is a must visit restaurant. We only wish we went back there today!!!

I got the fiery ginger drink and it was indeed tasty. I could stand for more ginger heat, but this is better than most. We really wanted to try their Cullen Skink. We were advised that it was really rich so we might want to get a small for a light lunch. We were so glad we did. The soup was off the charts delicious. It was really rich, but also had nice smoked haddock flavor. The potatoes were sliced thin and were melting soft. It was a really good soup. It was a good think we did not order a big bowl of it. We shared a rhubarb meringue. The rhubarb was delicious, but it would be easier to eat if the pieces were shorter. The custard and meringue were lovely. This is cozy a local community place. I ordered the Cullen Skink as my starter, and it was 1 of the best bites of my 2 week trip; the fish was flaky and wel/-cooked, as were all the other ingredients, with a lovely background of smoky, meatiness. My main was the Mac and Cheese, which was solid as well (I may or may not have burned the roof of my mouth, but that's on me!). The staff/service was excellent - no complaints. The sign outside amused me as well; I'd be happy to return.

I went for afternoon brunch in the form of eggs florentine and a clean and green juice. I loved the juice; it was fresh and zesty, and a great pick me up. - So good that I'd slurped up every sip before the arrival of food. Oops! The eggs florentine was a decent eggs on bread offering. Although I have to say I like my eggs runnier, and the Hollandaise could have been a little thicker. Still, that's a matter of preference and, with fresh smoked salmon on the side, this made for an adequate brunch. I've no real complaints in terms of service but our waiter had gone to get dessert menus for us and had forgotten and by that point, we'd had the chance to change our minds and resist the lure of the fruit scone. Also, it would have been nice to have been offered table water. Forth Floor was a-okay for brunch but I don't think it's got anything on the plethora of independent spots available in the city. For that reason, I think I'd opt for one of those next time.
