She didn't assess the areas that need extra TLC due to hardened skin. The foot massage was about 30 seconds too. And my nails... She didn't use cream even once. I believe the mani service is supposed to come with lotion and "massage." I didn't get either. I got a clear coat on my nails, and some areas are missing application. My fingernails look awful, not only from the splotchy paint but since dried skin still peppers the area. I tipped Julie 20% because she was nice, and I genuinely think she doesn't realize how bad this service is. I am struggling to accept that I just paid $78 for this experience. I am so upset. I reached out to 854 to schedule an appointment with Brian who came highly recommended. He was booked as most quality stylists usually are. Alyssa, the receptionist, recommended Jordan who (according to the bio on their website) is "an expert in personalizing color formulation and specializes in cutting edge coloring techniques". Just look at my photos and see for yourself how that could be very misleading. After looking at their premium prices I figured I'd give Jordan a shot! This was a mistake. I knew as soon as I sat down in her chair. The foil placements and just her overall attitude let me know I will not be leaving the salon happy that day. I paid $196 for a sloppy job that left me in tears and with split ends because there was zero effort to even get the cutting done correctly. I reached out to them the next day trying to get it fixed. I will say they did get me in as soon as they could but would charge me an additional $94. There was not a single word of apology and Jordan instead did the absolute opposite and decided to just bleach my entire head. There was no conversation of how I wanted it done or that she would try her hardest to fix this. To make matters worse, the owner Mellisa, dried my hair to "make sure the color was good" had the audacity to tell me my "hair doesn't want to take color" knowing damn well it's her girl that did not pay attention and missed a bunch of spots the first and second round of coloring. You would think with all the competition in town, she would at least pretend to care about new clients that walk through her door. A simple apology goes a long way. This was hard for me write as I do my best to uplift women and support women owned businesses. But they did me dirty and made no effort to fix it, so I will never return or speak highly of this place. I've been getting my hair done for 16 years now and I have never felt so mistreated. $290 and I'm embarrassed to be seen in public. The only good thing that came from this experience is that I realized my regular girl (in Annapolis) is a rockstar and I should never ever take her for granted. I came from customer service from my past, if the hair stylist was running late even though they were physically there, you need to at least let the client know. Sam ran 15 minutes late because she was working on a social media video. I asked to speak to the owner and asked him to adjust my hair price that day (more the principle of it) and he said he could not do it and that it was his fault and patted my on the back. Then I was like okay, then he came back and said Sam did not want to do my hair because she thought I wasn't going to tip her or give her the full price of my hair appointment. And you know what, I went through got my hair appointment, tipped her full price and was respectful. But my honest opinion, I was disappointed, and felt that the owner (male husband) was a complete dick and if I could I would give zero stars. Maybe next time someone will think before they treat someone a certain way, especially if they do not know them. I do have to say, there are amazing people who are friendly and kind that work there.
