Full of discount shops - what's not to love!…read more I've usually been pretty lucky here, being able to pick up a bargain if I feel like a bit of 'pick me up' shopping. My mum and sister are both much taller than me, with long limbs and have found it more difficult to find items they like in their size. With the more recent addition of NoniB though, mum is much happier! There are a good mix of shops as well as options to eat or grab a drink. My favourite is Cherry Blossom sushi for a quick energy hit. All that shopping can require some refuelling. There are gift vouchers available and although nearly all the shops partake in the Harbour Town gift voucher system, there are a few where they aren't valid. There is a list available at the office, which could be worth checking if buying a gift voucher for someone who loves one particular store. My favourite store, Art to Art is there, closely followed by Novo Shoes that has some awesome shoe bargains regularly. A kind of weird tip I'd like to share is about walking along near the playground in the middle. I've been walking along window shopping, to only nearly twist my ankle and fall over. The playground area spreads out into the walk area and is totally soft and spongey! High heels sink in and the ground becomes inconsistent and difficult to walk on. Probably fine if wearing flats, but a bit disconcerting if not dangerous, if not!

Harbour Town has over 120 outlets and 70 specialty stores, and boasts as having the biggest Woolworths store in South Australia. I've spent some time browsing throughout most of these stores, but very rarely find anything I like. However, It's great for the outdoor shopping experience, without those fucking annoying preachers.

The new Australian Red Cross Superstore recently opened up next door to my favourite St Vinnies…read moreop-shop, opposite the Findon Library and Shopping Centre. Needless to say, I got pretty excited. Sadly, while it is undoubtedly enormous, the excess of products doesn't improve the overall quality. The store conforms to the slightly higher prices of Red Cross shops, and there wasn't anything good enough to warrant paying more than I would next door. They have lot of new clothing, some of which is quite awful - dresses that have the sides cut out of them to be only a bikini top, strip over the belly and a skirt (reminiscent of that horrible fashion of bathers). The second-hand clothing is much more normal, and there is a LOT of it, in women's, men's and children, and for once the latter two sections are fully stocked. What I really like about this shop is that it colour codes its sections, thus, being a person who only likes certain colours, I can go straight to the green section and avoid all others. The men's section made me chuckle, because I can see guys being quite happy to beeline to their favourite chunk of colour; for making shopping easier, we thank you Red Cross. I also enjoy how the whole store is set out neatly and tidily. It has a calming feel about it, appealing to the small voice of OCD inside many of us. The book corner, while neat and attractive, sadly doesn't have much substance. Half the entire stock is "Adult Fiction" while the rest is just not-so-great fiction. I didn't spot any authors I'm keen on, except a battered Stephen King and a Simone de Beauvoir in the original French. However, I won't judge too harshly too soon. Op-shops often need time to develop and get in some good stock, so I'll be back in a month or two to check out its development.

Op shops work hard to put all our off-casts to good use, and this store is no exception. With a…read morehuge range of well organised stock, I personally have found many treasures over the years of visiting and the strong customer base is testament to this store being worth a visit. The previous reviewer does not seem to understand that op shopping is a commitment to patience and gratitude for the gems that are frequently found, but not by those expecting to find them served up on a silver platter, with a minimum of effort. With four other big op shops a step away, this Red Cross is an op shopper's delight!

Imagine looking amazingly sexy in casual wear. I don't know how this store does it but they have seriously got the merchandising right, I daresay that not many Adelaidians are rocking this classy, aftershave, crisp but relaxed man look because I would have noticed. So be one of the first!! The assistants are always more than happy to fit clothes or offer ensemble options. Adelaide could be a more beautiful place if all the guys shopped here.

Yd has such a classy set up and everything feels quite fancy. They stock a wide range of dress shirts, casual shirts, jeans, suits and shoes. This particular store has a lovely selection of staff members who are more helpful then you'd think. I've gone to yd to buy clothes for guys and the staff know exactly how to figure out their size and what would suit them best and they've never steered me wrong yet. If you're a guy I'd check it out. If you're a girl buying for a guy then I'd check it out.

These dresses would probably be double the price in boutique stores but they are similar - if not identical - designs!! I would say that the dresses are actually very difficult to sort through since the layout of the store is pretty hectic. There's just too many dresses to look at, so too many designs may be found on the same rack. As long as you have the patience and time, you will be able to find both casual and going out dresses in this store. They also sell faux brands purses and handbags, along with some male clothing. Sometimes the owner has discounts that aren't advertised well in and out of the store, so just ask or talk to him, and he should be able to give you a friendly detailed answer.

And where do they get their spandex glitzy dresses and strappless gowns at affordable prices for working women? Here is your answer. Before I digress I for one love spending money on odd and rare clothes finds, and having the stature and silhouette of a small gnome it's great finding places that have clothing suitable for little people. So as far as product go you get great and weird boutique finds at a fraction of the price. But here's the catch... 1. Don't leave valuables in the car 2. Don't wear nice clothes as there's a fair amount of dust in this place as crowds grab their garments, all while accompanied by a soft touch of body odour in the air. 3. Don't have OCD almost all the racks are at random which makes you appreciate a great find even more so 4. Don't expect a small wait on the change room as often it's populated by half a gymnastics team in search of synchronized sparkly things or half a class of girls wagging school looking for some blue light disco duds. Patience is a virtue. 5. Keep an eye out for fake tan stains on white clothing, I always come across a few. Give it a go it really is an experience without the pretentious price tag.
