While most teachers have been wonderful, there have been a couple who were less supportive or less communicative, which created some challenges. It didn't define the entire experience, but it's worth noting since it affected our child's year at times. Communication from administration is generally clear and responsive, and the school offers a solid range of electives and extracurriculars. Guess what - good lesson for the kid. It's doesn't really matter what your intention was, only how the comment was received. As far as the front office staff is concerned, I've had to pull my 8th grader out every other month for orthodontist appointments since 6th grade and I've never had a problem. Sounds like the logistics and some of the personal problems of some of these parents might be causing issues for the school so a little push back is taken as rudeness. I'm reality, they're doing their best to make sure the kids are safe and secure. This is my son's final year at Bella Vista (6th grade was full COVID, distance learning) and he's excelled academically. He went in with straight A's from elementary school, started in advanced classes, and has maintained his excellent grades. The teachers are reasonable and firm with expectations based in realism - face it, they're working with freakin' pre-teens and young teens - terrible job in my opinion but glad they are there doing their best for my son everyday. My daughter will gladly go to Bella Vista after another year of elementary school because big brother has had such a positive experience.

We expected a safe and supportive environment for learning, but instead found ourselves constantly worried about our child's well-being. When we brought up concerns to administration, the response felt dismissive and reactive rather than proactive. This school desperately needs stronger leadership when it comes to campus safety, clear policies around bullying, and more supervision during breaks and passing periods.
