It is a typical Provigo with ample free parking right next to it. The good thing about this grocery store is that the grocery carts are not locked in place where you need to insert a coin/deposit to remove the grocery cart and then return the grocery cart in the same area to get your coin/deposit back. I really hate it when grocery stores do this since I generally pay by credit card and sometimes when I visit grocery stores, I don't have a loonie/toonie to insert into the locking mechanism to remove a grocery cart. This Provigo has a few self check-out terminals where you can scan/pack/pay via the automated terminal which is great since I use these self check-out terminals at establishments that have them. I generally find them a lot faster or more convenient than standing in line and waiting for the cashier to ring up your items. Regardless of whether you are driving westward on St-Jacques Ouest or eastward on St-Jacques Ouest, you don't have to make any illegal turns or cross any yellow lines to go into the parking lot. It is a typical Provigo grocery store. I don't have any complaints about my recent visit there.

Yes, it's grungy in there, and smells weird, and is full of salty people, but I was able to get bags of groceries that fed me for an entire week for about $10. Admittedly that was a while ago, and I was a vegetarian back then, and I weighed less than 100 lbs, but hey I lived to tell this story. I was back at Segal's this past week, for a stroll down memory lane, and with the exception of some new security cameras and TV screens, it's exactly how I remembered it. It's still poorly lit. The refrigerated sections still have those yellowing plastic curtains. The floors are still dirty and it still smelled weird. Prices are a bit higher, but I would say keeping with inflation. They stock a few more organic items now. The bulk items used to just be in open tubs (like at Bulk Barn, minus the coverings), but are now in plastic garbage/recycling bins, with lids, lol. The "scoops" are plastic water jugs that are tied to the bins. Most are cracked or broken. I found this amusing. This place has apparently been around since 1927. Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking, but I have a soft spot in my heart for its "this is who I am, warts and all, take it or leave it" attitude.

They were always friendly and helpful and chatted with all the customers ...always a pleasant community experience. So it takes some getting used to at this LaSalle M&Ms 'cuz service is not at all the same vibes. It was in fact a bit disappointing for us the first time we came here when we moved here...so for the next year we would actually drive back to Chats if we wanted some M&Ms lol! But we figure we should get used to buying locally so we suck it up and come here now. It's not that service is bad...it's not. It's actually good: they say hello and serve u as quick as possible ...it's just not the same service we're used to. It's hired employees (not the store owners) so there's more of a franchise vibe to this one than the mom n pop vibe we're used to. And as silly as it sounds the location affects the atmosphere too as it's in the middle of a small strip mall so only the store front is window which makes the long alley store feel a bit more claustrophobic than we're used to also. I remembered today a trick we used to use which is to go online to their website before visiting the store, look at all the menu items and make a list, that way when u show up u can just say ur list and pay and go. The store is not set up really for people to peruse the items at any comfortable length of time so it's better to show up prepared than to be in the way or feeling pressured to just choose ur items n get out. So yah we come here but it pales in comparison to the Chats branch, by at least a little.

'dynamic pricing', like ticketmaster, airlines?...). As for the aforementioned 'other groceries', 'they' were all more expensive than Walmart, Maxi or even Amazon, therefore i refrained. In conclusion, not worth it; i'll simply carry-on buying locally, in my hood, in smaller quantities, i.e. 10lbs, as opposed to 10kg.

Alot of good deals on fresh organic produce. Very comfortable to shop there. They have a few sales areas, and conventionally grown produce. Believe it or not, if you only have a few bucks but you want to stay healthy you can feed yourself quite well. They have a small vitamin/supplement area, very cramped, and someone sits there to help, but they are friendly. The store is cramped and there is always someone in the way of someone else. The atmosphere of that store is so great, it can be forgiven. It is not perfect, but you can tell they try. That makes all the difference. Returning items is not easy. Bulk organic coffee is the best price. The bulk organic olive oil is always going empty also a good deal. Bulk organic nuts and seeds. Sometimes I try shopping at other stores to see if I can get a better deal without suffering and the answer is no.

They are really respecting COVID regulations which I appreciate. However, they make everyone take a basket (the big bulky ones that you push) and the aisles aren't wide enough so it was hard to move through the store. it would have been better if they just counted the number of people or gave us the option to take a hand held basket. All in all, staff were helpful and the selection is what will bring me back to this location.

I took the bus 24 to get there from downtown during my lunch. The prices are regulated so whatever they sell in this store, if they have it at a different SAQ store will be the exact same price. The staff were relatively polite (although the person manning the cash register only spoke to me in French even after I replied to him in English that I would be paying by credit card) and the store was very clean and well organised.
