As I walked in I was ushered to a table straight away and had a look at the menu which to my surprise there was a breakfast and lunch menu which all seemed overpriced but I thought I would give them the benefit if the doubt with the ingredient that have been used. So I ordered the mushroom and cheese crossaint with a vanilla ice cream milkshake which I was informed the ice cream was homemade and the vanilla seeds were visible. The food arrived first and looked delicious but tasted very bland with the side salad. When the milkshake arrived it was in a small glass and was mainly foam and no visible vanilla seeds to be seen. So when approaching the manager about this she was unapologetic and brought the icecream over to show there is no seeds in the icecream. So if you want to be over charged ie my bill came to £9, then come here!

The cafe decor is nice and clean. The staff are incompetent bordering on rude, they are not interested in you or for offering a service, leave a tip I don't think so. I have been on 2 occasions trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but not again, this boat has sailed.

Everyone loved the cake and anyone who could get a second helping did - it disappeared very quickly! Amir was very helpful and flexible when we ordered and advised on timings for pick-up etc., to ensure the cake was perfect when it came to serve it. Whenever we're in Surbiton / Tolworth we drop by and treat ourselves to cake and baklava, and we're never disappointed!

They will take orders for wedding and celebration cakes to be baked to order but if you fancy baking yourself, there is every accessory available for baking and decorating your cake here. They also run classes for baking, usually aimed at the more experienced baker, such as classes in sugar flowers. If you want to bake to impress, head to Corteil & Barratt for a helping hand.

We discovered Corteil & Barratt when looking for someone to make and deliver our wedding cake. After tasting their vanilla, chocolate and fruit cakes we were so impressed that we ordered a tier of each!! The cakes are moist, full of flavour and every one of our guests commented on how delicious they were (with many people sampling all three - the benefit of over-catering!!) Corteil & Barratt delivered the cakes to our ceremony venue (in Wales!!!) and when I saw the finished display I was thrilled - they looked absolutely stunning and were everything I'd hoped for. I had asked for lots of intricate icing and sprays of sugar flowers in white and the finished article was just beautiful. Since then we've had two children and Corteil & Barratt are always our first port of call for Christening and family Birthday cakes. Each time we're always hugely impressed with the standard of the beautiful icing and decoration, as well as the delicious cake itself. The menu also lists milkshakes and coffees as well as more fancy ice cream creations I opted for one scoop of banoffee in a cone to take with me on my underground journey. It was lovely - good banana flavour with a ribbon of caramel; runniong througn it. They have a loyalty scheme, offering free coffee or ice cream with every 6 purchases
