The day before graduation, an hour before we were going to leave home to head to LaCrosse so we could be here in time for the early ceremony Saturday, U-Haul called to tell me they didn't have a truck in LaCrosse for me. We would have to drive 60 miles to the U-Haul in MINNESOTA. So a three-hour round trip for us on graduation day. What made it even worse is that we had family who was ready to help us move out in the early afternoon, but who couldn't stay long enough to wait that extra three hours. The woman who called me had absolutely ZERO empathy - she told me I should have read the fine print, that they say they will call the day before to confirm and let you know if they have a truck available. How is that a reservation then? If I RESERVED a truck a month ago and all of a sudden you no longer have it? The only compensation they offered was extra mileage, but no compensation for the gas money it cost in both my car and the U-Haul to make that trip. Much less any compensation for the time and disruption on such a special day for my son. I find it hard to believe that they didn't know until the day before that they didn't have a truck. And I call BS - we stayed at the hotel right next to the U-Haul in LaCrosse and they had a TON of trucks on their lot. I have pictures to prove it. I will no longer be using U-Haul for any of my moving needs, nor will my family. Worst customer service ever!

The drive is all gravel, otherwise the buildings are raised and have an inner raised edge as well. This helps to avoid flooding or snow melt entering the unit. The units are clean and new. The rates are quite reasonable and they will buy your lock back when you are finished with them. Last note is that they are easy to find and access right off of Superior/12 across from Goodwill.
