I met with Marc in the fall…read moreof 2017 to make sure I understood what sort of records he would need from me, since my property is an apartment building and also my primary residence. Then I provided all of my records and tax documentation to Copper Canyon at the beginning of March 2018 - admittedly later than I intended. I was told it would take about 2 weeks for my taxes to be prepared. I didn't hear anything so I called back a few times and was told they hadn't been able to get to my file yet. I called back again on April 10, and only at that point was I told I needed to complete an "organizer" which was many pages long. I filled it out right away and sent it back, didn't hear anything, called again and was told I would have to file an extension. Ultimately my taxes weren't filed until the end of May. I wouldn't even care about that if Copper Canyon's communication had been better throughout the process. I paid $535 for their services and I didn't feel like I mattered to them as a client, so I'm not sure I want to go back. I have no complaints about my actual tax filings - as far as I can tell Marc did a great job sifting through my expenses and preparing my return.

An'D set an appointment for me to see Dan later that afternoon. Dan was super helpful, immediately pointing out the error, putting my mind at ease. He gave me verbal instructions on what I needed to do, but I had asked for his help to see this through to avoid any chance of penalties. Dan told me that he would have to charge me for service. I was under the impression I would already be charged for the advice, but he said that was free. I was more than happy to have Dan write a letter to the state, explaining the error. He provided a self-addressed envelope and copies of all of my paperwork for my records with clear instructions on how to proceed. I have not had a tax preparer for well over 20 years, always relying on TurboTax. No more. I have ultimate trust that Dan and An'D will take care of me, all for a very attractive price. Searching on-line I was impressed with Jennifer's website as well as the structured way she approaches returns. After a delightful phone conversation we were ready to try her service. For those that are adverse to working on-line this may not be for you but her website allows you to quickly enter or download all the information needed for your return. Since we were new we also needed to complete a short questionnaire and download our prior years return along with our 1099s. Being new was made easy and the investment of 15 mins was well worth the outcome. Jennifer confirmed information received and all communications within 24 hours (normally a couple of hours). Bottom line...a new client, complicated return, multiple states, several communications and we had our return within 4 days. Jennifer is a wizard of efficiency as is her site.
