I was panicked when a local florist I'd planned to…read moreuse to get my mom a bouquet for her upcoming milestone birthday informed me they couldn't help me because they are closed on Sundays and therefore don't deliver on Sundays...which of course is the day of the week her bday fell on this year. Luckily, I found Greenup's website online and thought the pictures of their products looked gorgeous, so I reached out to the number on the website to see if they could help me. They immediately replied to my text, confirming that they deliver on Sundays and would deliver to my Mother's address in Boring even through isn't in their typical delivery radius. According to my mom, a big beautiful bouquet was delivered to her the next day by a very sweet woman who wished her a wonderful birthday as she handed her the flowers. While driving down 12th Street, the lush green plants in the window caught my attention. The next day I had to come back and check it out. The owner and those working there are so friendly in that small town way that doesn't exist in many places. Well it's on full display here! When I explained that I was trying to replace two orange bromeliads, they offered to order some for me. Bromeliads or any plant I need that is not in the store. When I mentioned that my large aloe is covered in white, scale fungus or mites, they informed me that it is lacking light . I've Googled this a dozen times and that never came up! Shopping here is as much about getting educated on how to care for your plants to as it is about finding a specific plant. The goal is for the plant to thrive long term. While perusing the shop, I noticed some planters filled with three or four indoor houseplants that would be a stunning gift or an arrangement for your own home. Especially the ones that had a pop of color from the African Violets. I may have to go back for one! All the plants were healthy and thriving. There were anthurium with waxy, shiny, red heart shaped leaves; snake plants that are so easy to maintain; lots of pathos that are super easy to grow; an assortment of orchids in multiple colors; and a plethora of succulents and air plants. The shop is small but everything is styled so nicely that they fit in a lot of inventory while still keeping it spacious so customers can easily make their way around. Loved everything about this shop! So happy to find a plant and floral shop in the heights of Hood River.

When I arrived, the proprietor, a very charming woman, was "out back" doing some chores. But she heard my 1972 Super Beetle pull up and was on my heels before I got to the front door. The store is overflowing with flowers, vases, balloons, and the like, and the way to the counter isn't evident at first. But I did manage to find it and slapped my 75 simoleans on the counter and gave her the delivery info. This is a non-typical business, as they only accept cash or check. She showed up the next day (she wears all the hats, including delivery person) at the pre-arranged time with a beautiful arrangement. My wife loved it, which made both me and the flower lady very happy. A great experience. I'm a satisfied customer.
