Customer service could greatly improve! I have been patronizing country boys for a long time today. I went there and bought flowers and I tried to buy flowers and I wanted a lot of the same color so I pulled out the ones I wanted. I've never been told I could not do that. There was no signage saying I couldn't do it. I was first of all rudely yelled at by one of the women in the back for trying to get a flower she yelled at me and said that's not for sale and didn't direct me to some plants that were for sale and should I ask her politely are there some for sale around the corner so I got Sylvia and they had wonky colors so I pulled out some white to mix with my red Sylvia she comes by did you do this? I said yes I did because I didn't want the wonky colors then here comes the big big 350 to 400 pound man which I think owns country boys he comes over there in mind you I've never had this kind of customer service. It was horrible incredible and he looks at me and I said you didn't have any signage out here and mind you I've been going there for what 20 years and I said there was no signage that said I couldn't do this. If you don't want someone doing this you must have signage. I have done this with my husband before and he said well I said can I buy these? Yes he said, but I have to take a look at what you did over here then he comes back and says to me no I'm not gonna sell you those those flowers you can just leave I said so you're telling me I can't buy the flowers I have in my buggy he said no just leave and I thought to myself. Wow he needs prayer. Where has customer service gone? Customer service is just not what it used to be but I can tell you what I will not be patronizing his establishment anymore I have bought very expensive Christmas tree from him. I have bought candles. I have bought Easter stuff from him. I have bought Christmas stuff from him, but no more his business is going down very quickly. That was awful awful customer service and I can tell you it's the one on Woodruff Rd not the one in Taylor's the one on Woodruff Rd so let me just tell you beware buyer. They have fired their head manager designer. Their designs have really gone down hill. No one will pay those stupidly high prices for the same thing people can buy other places that have great designers and a good attitude. The country boys on woodruff now SUCKS. I cautiously came here for seedling plants to begin my summer vegetable garden on April 1st. I say cautiously because my wife was also coming along with me and this store can be dangerous for home decor, yard ornaments and even Christmas trees and decorations, especially in season. They have an excellent selection of yard and in home decorations that you won't see anywhere else. Case in point, several sizes of cute rabbit statues in various cute poses for the garden. Except an 18 inch standing rabbit statue was $50. So, we did not get that today, my wife went back Monday by herself and it appeared in my garden. It is nice, but expensive. On another note, all of their seedling vegetable plants were healthy and standing 3-4 inches tall at only $1.99 each. Contrast this to Lowe's Hardware at $6.00 per seedling (Bonnie Plants) and it is quite the bargain. For $6.00 I also got a tomato plant already potted that was about a foot tall - getting ahead on the schedule. One way to look at it, since I purchased 18 plants then I "saved" $72 by not shopping at Lowe's and coming to Country Boys and even with the rabbit statue, saved $12. so it is kinda like I got the rabbit statue for free? Isn't it? This store is well stocked, clean, pleasant and lots of workers to help the shoppers. There is a lot of spring activity and it is deservedly busy on a beautiful spring Saturday. read more

The staff here is SO RUDE. I called to see if they had a particular plant and they said they did. But before all this they had to forward me to the nursery area. It took a while for someone to pick up and when they finally did someone answered and said "SHE'S AT LUNCH!' and hung up on me. I thought maybe it was for someone else so I called back. The same lady answered the phone and said the lady that is usually there was at lunch. I asked if she was the only one that knew if a plant was available and she said no. Not sure why it was so difficult. I finally go there and this is my first time being at this store ever. I go to the nursery and ask the lady at the counter for help. She doesn't even look up but is eating and said "third row" Ok but which third row but there are 6 rows of 3. I mentioned how it was my first time there and that I was able to find it on my own and she puts another piece of food in her mouth. GROSS. Never again. read more

We stopped in right before they were closing so we didn't have much time to browse around. The nursery is larger than it looks from the parking lot. They have a great variety of plants and flowers. They also have rows of tomato, bell pepper, and strawberry plants. Inside is full of garden accessories and decor. There's merchandise everywhere but it's pretty organized. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and asked if we needed assistance. read more

Lots of beautiful plants even in the winter! The place was bigger than it looks from the road with a nice variety of houseplants, succulents, and some outdoor. The pots and container sections was lovely and inspiring, it really gets the creative juices flowing when deciding how to build your new container of plants! The workers were helpful and great at answering our questions about the type of light we had available and which plants would do best. The inside contained lots of home decor accessories with wreaths, baskets, fairy garden things, and lots of other cute garden items. If you're a plant lover this is another great spot to hit up with healthy plants at a good price. read more

The greenhouse has nice succulents and houseplants, but service isn't exceptional; we were not shown what we needed and had to wander the store ourselves until we found it. I came in looking for potpourri. I bought two bags of their potpourri and two bottles scented oil. It was $93. To me, that's a premium price for what should be a premium bag of potpourri. I got home, opened both bags, put one upstairs and one downstairs and after a full day, all of the smell is gone. I just got back from church expecting a fresh smelling home and there wasn't even a hint. Big disappointment. read more

The customer service was terrible and lady at cash register was very rude. They are very expensive on most of their items.

Several years ago, I bought an artificial tree that was pre-wired with incandescent lights from Country Boy's. I was not sure about the pre-wiring because incandescent bulbs burn out fairly frequently. One of the main reasons I bought the tree was because the owner told me that I could bring the tree back each fall for as long as I owned it and they would replace any burned out or defective bulbs. Everything went well for two years as I brought in the tree for minor amounts of bulb replacement / repairs. The third year I brought it in and I was told that the owner's Dad was now running the business and he would no longer honor the service commitment. VERY disappointing flip flop. I will never buy another tree from Country Boy's. Since then I bought a very nice artificial tree pre-wired with LED bulbs from online retailer Balsam Hill. Better technology and way better service. read more

Horrible customer service! Would not recommend or ever go back! The last two times I have gone I have bought large bags of potting soil and there are many teenage boys that work there that stand out in the front doing nothing and watch you load the soil in your car without offering to help you. I also purchased 4 ivys and ended up only needing the one after arranging them in my window boxes. I went back the same day to exchange them out for different items that I felt would work better. While trying to balance the plants and get my toddler out of her car seat I dropped one of the ivys in the parking lot and dirt spilled out and the plant fell out of the pot. I put the plant back in the pot and tried to manage getting as much dirt back into the pot and took them in for an exchange trying to manage my crying daughter at the same time. The manager DAYNA who was working at the time was incredibly rude and not understanding at all of the situation that happened and refused to exchange it and said it was damaged even though all it needed was a little more potting soil. I have shopped at Country Boys and been loyal to them for years spending hundreds of dollars with them. Unfortunately because of this I will never recommend nor give them any of my business again. Being a business owner myself I am absolutely appalled and saddened by the lack of customer service. Shame on you Country Boys. read more

I went to purchase about 550.00 in ornaments and asked a lady who happened to be the manager if they were on sale. Her response was everything is 25 percent off. Then when at the register i asked the clerk if she took the 25 percent off and she said no and I said the blonde lady told me they were 25 percent off. She came over and told them they were and the clerk said no they are not. They wouldn't give me the 25 percent even though the manager told them they were! They lost a 550.00 Sale today with others saying that she also told them it was 25 percent off!! I spend a lot of money in that store yearly but will never step in there again. Absolutely rude cashiers!!! Most of all there manager can't keep her word and don't have any say when a cashier tells the manager what she can and can't do!! Absolutely bizarre. The cashier needs a lesson in respect and a class on how to talk to people! Rude. read more

Country Boy's is a wonderful store! My parents are in their 80's and they have been using them for many years to purchase all of the plants for their house and landscaping. The entire staff goes out of their way to help choose things that will be beautiful and easy to care for. There is so much to choose and the prices are very fair and beat the box stores by a COUNTRY MILE! They also have hard to find items and exotic gift ideas. I have searched all over Spartanburg and Greenville recently for a family member who needed a Bonsai Tree and Voila! Country Boys came through again with a price 10 dollars lower than on-line trees. We tried 3 other places but when we came here, we were presently surprised at the prices, and i was raining outside, so the cover was great! They looked a little weak when I purchased them but thought this establishment would not sell anything inferior - I was wrong. I really do love this store! The plant selection is great and there is so much pottery to choose from. The inside is just a decorators dream with so many practical, cute and decorative items to choose from! The staff was friendly but the only criticism is that many of the smaller plants were not labeled and they quite often could not be identified. However, the quality of the plants was very good and the prices were fair. It's just a fun place to go! read more
