Its a really neat store. But it's really expensive. They do have a lot of candy which for the variety you can choose from is worth the price but everything else in the store is outrageously expensive. This place is seriously heaven on earth!!!!! It's like a candy palace! There are barrels and barrels loaded with candy. Big barrels too! We visited PA and knew we had to stop here because the pictures looked so awesome. The shop itself is super big and spacious. The prices were great too, not like a typical tourist trap kind of overpriced candy shop. They had tons of gifts and souvenirs to bring home too. Sometimes I get candy cravings and wish this place was local to me, I would be in serious trouble lol overall the service and experience was super great. Also look at that gum ball machine!!! My husband ran in to purchase coconut macaroons for my Christmas stocking, along with a couple of other items. He was told that they are no longer selling macaroons, but convinced him to buy "coconut clusters" instead. He was assured that they were "much better". He was charged $14 for 6 lumps of substandard chocolate with a bit of coconut sprinkled in, so hard that they can't be bitten or broken into pieces. This is the secret place of a one stop shop place however this place is know for the huge candy inventory and I am talking about old time candy like honey and sesame squares, red fishes and much more!!! They have an organized clean store it's huge with various inventory expensive crystals to home stuff and jewelry, handbags and much much more!!!! This is a very pleasant store to visit. It's in a colonial house, which already looks nice before you even step in it . As soon as you get inside, you're greeted by friendly workers. There, you find yourself in this gift shop which mostly reflects the wildlife of that area. There are a lot of small wooden-carved bears, and other cute bear decorations. They have actually have some decorations based on pop culture (some superheroes, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc, but mostly older pop cultures from around the 1950s. Then when you go behind that section, there's a huge room full of wooden barrels - each one is filled with different candy to choose from. Some have cookies, others chocolate pretzels, gummy worms, popcorn, jelly beans, and way more than I can possibly name here. The basement is equally as large as the candy room, but sells all vintage holiday decorations. I'd guess about 90% of these decorations are for Christmas, but there's a small Halloween section as well. I don't know exactly what year this store opened. But stepping in, you really feel like you're visiting a country store from the past. I just can't imagine how anyone could not enjoy visiting this place. read more

This is my go to candy shop when I visit the Poconos! I've been going here for years and it never gets old. Country kettle has the largest assortment of candy and snacks that I've ever seen, some of which are homemade. Every time I step inside, I feel like a kid again and my eyes light up with excitement. They have so many candies/chocolates/snacks to choose from and you can pick your own. It's currently $2.99 for a 1/2 lb bag which is extremely affordable! I stuff my bag full of goodies for less than $10. I love all their chocolate covered things and the flavored pretzels! They allow you to sample a lot of their homemade snacks which is awesome because they're all delicious!!They're so unique in flavor and they're less than $3 a bag. In addition to snacks, this place doubles as a gift shop with a lot of fun knick knacks to bring home as a souvenir. read more

Add Country Kettle to your must stop destinations in the poconos. At least 30 barrels of all types of candy from chocolate to sweets to gummy bears. Most of them has samples to taste first. They also have 2 gift shops on both sides of the store. Have everything from greeting cards, sports merchandise, bumper stickers, pet supplies and seasonal knick nacks. Dont forget about the christmas outlet downstairs too. I got a handful of chocolates, non-pereils, gummy bears and peanut butter candies to last me a few days and it was around $5. Great pricing. Had to take a star off since they were no restrooms available. Another customer and I were in need of the mens room and between the candy section and both sides of the gift shops we couldnt find one. They even have some candy you don't find in the store any more! Lots of hard candy, gummy candy, spicy candy, sweet candy, etc. They also have lots of flavored nuts as well. These barrels have samples of the nuts to try before you buy them. This is nice so you do not end up getting something that you will not end up liking. Such a lovely place!! Very colorful. Just as they say "thousand of products". But for real there's a big selection of candies, and many cute souvenirs. Cookies, popcorn, gummies, bubble gum and many other candies. The store is subdivided in the candy store and the fashion store. So as you can imagine there are many things you can find there. My favorite is the S'mores snack mix!! Yummy. If you ever go to Poconos I recommend you to stop there, it's a nice store. I went there with my boyfriend's family and enjoyed a lot!! This place is so cool! We stopped on our road trip to Bushkill falls. So many different types of candles and I have never seen so much candy in my life! They must have hundreds of different types. You can get candy by the 1/2 lb I think it was $2.99/ half pound. They have so many different types of flavors of gummy bears and unique and vintage candy. Tons of gifts for people of all ages. Only reviewing this place to say the flavored "twizzlers" have very little flavor to them. Also, their nonpareils taste like nothing I've ever tasted. I got the dark chocolate ones, and if I closed my eyes and ate them there's no way anyone could tell these are nonpareils! Awful, bland chocolate taste. Maybe they're old? Wow! What a fun place! You definitely need to make a few visits to this place because there's just so many things to look at, rummage through in the gift shop, and taste in the candy section. Also I can't imagine that your wallet could afford to buy everything you lay your eyes on. There are so many terrific areas that I want to share with you about here in this store. When you first walk in the front door on the right you will see some really cool and eclectic types of clothing. I found a pair of wool gloves but it was hard to decide. Then you make your way into the gift shop area and that's where the fun really begins. They have a section just for military, fire fighters, and police. I am a Navy/Marine veteran and my bestie's hubs is a NYFD Battalion Chief so we were both goes glued to that isle for a while. So let me just rattle off some of the things you can find in this novelty store and gift shop not including the candy & snack section. Christmas gifts and ornaments, stickers, keychains, household decorations, candles, jewelry, pillows, artwork, so many cool different things that you would not normally find in a place like this such as welcome mats that have interchangeable welcome signs. In the candy and snacks section they have their own brand called country kettle they bag items such as BBQ corn nuts, cheddar lovers snack mix, pecan roasted nuggets, mini cheese pretzels, Wasabi peanuts, and they give you samples from most items that you can take yourself. I'm not much of a candy person but they have just about every kind of candy you could desire. Barrels and barrels and barrels of the stuff. They have about 10 different kinds of licorice. And then to the left of the building where they keep the candy there's a section of fresh candy in the glass cabinet where an employee will help you. I did not get any of that candy but I did get four bags of different snacks. They run about $2.99 for a 6 oz bag so you're looking at about $9 a pound. Customer service was very good. Lot of hard-working American people at work. I would definitely come back here. I spent almost $100 so not anytime soon. My friend also spent over $100. Have fun! read more

We have frequented this store since it opened in 1986. I now take my children with their grandparents. Unfortunately, our last experience on February 16,2020 was horrendous. The manager, Pam, RUDELY spoke to my older child in front of other patrons regarding the samples (this was AFTER making a purchase this visit plus every other visit over the past 30 years). Her comment was uncalled for and disrespectful. I approached her calmly at first but when she started wagging her finger at me, laughing at me, and scolding me as his mother, I was beyond disgusted. She did this to no other family ...those of which whose children were putting their bare hands in the candy bins and whose parents were dumping the sample into their hands rather than using the provided spoons. What an awful representation of this business establishment and how sad that my children will now miss out on a family tradition but we will be taking our business to Grandpa Joes in Stroudsburg where you are treated respectfully and like PEOPLE rather than another "sale." When in the area I love stopping here with my family. The displays and candy bin layout are fantastic. I guess the issue I have with this store is simply the women who run the shop. Not the summer help or teen cashiers, but I assume the two older owners. Every time we go in, they literally watch everyone like a hawk(I guess worried about eating samples or something), and always seem very unfriendly.
