He walked away and said, "well, she didn't have any manners!" I left immediately. I was shopping for furniture not insults. Everywhere we went, things looked the same or it was over priced. We stopped in to Hartlex, thinking it would probably be just furniture but we were desperate. This has now become our official shopping place for gifts. It's not just antique furniture (which were all STUNNING by the way), but decanters, beautiful wall art, jewelry, bed and bath items, lighting, crystal...SO MUCH. We were there for hours and enjoyed every minute of it. We ended up leaving with some things for ourselves too. The owners are hilarious and very personable which made the experience even better. 10/10 would recommend.

A wonderful new addition to the Shelbyville square!…read more I was in town for Father's Day down from Nashville and was able to check out the new antique store in the old library. While I was there, I was able to meet one of the owners and their children who run the place. They were very nice and I told them how great it was to see the library repurposed in such a manner. We discussed the new shop and how they plan to get involved in the community, which I think is fantastic. They also introduced me to their pets. They have a big German Shepard, a Sulcata Tortoise, and an iguana. It's like a small zoo and antique store, two of my favorite things! Ha. The selection here is too notch. Everything is interesting, reasonably priced, and clean. I was able to find a small bag full of items and I could have found more if I wasn't rushed to get home. I plan on coming back when I am back in town visiting family and I really hope they do well. This town owes the new business owners for saving the old library and bringing a wonderful new shop to our little community.

We saw some signs about Davy Crockett, etc., so we stopped. We ended up in the Historic Square District of this small town. At the square, there was some antique stores to check out. We went into "The Carriage House Antiques" located in an old store front in the square. Here Noel and I browsed around. I took some photos of some of my favorite pieces and gave myself some idea of the cost. I also texted some to my mommy, in case she wanted a few pieces for her store in Ripley. We had a great time in the store enjoying all the great pieces. Noel and I really liked the hour spent there, while Tony hung outside enjoying the sunshine and the different sites around the square. We are definitely coming here again. There is a ton of antiques in this one building and you could easily spend a few hours browsing in great detail. Noel ended up spending about $20 here and she got some lovely peacock feathers for one of her Special Makeup photo shoots
