We stopped at the Welcome Center but they weren't offering any wagon tours on the day we visited. So, we took a look around the shop instead. I bought a spiral wind spinner but nothing else appealed to me, mostly looked like donations. Some things were hand made but overall, it felt like it was more of a Goodwill than anything. It was cluttered and unorganized. My grandma and aunt wanted to use the restrooms on site but said they were extremely dirty and decided to use a local gas station's instead. The Amish are very nice people but there are rules. Don't take photos of them, some believe it takes their souls and others believe it expresses individualism. If you aren't Amish, be prepared to have people staring at you and the kids are not supposed to talk to anyone unless making a sale. Overall, everything was affordable and during our drive around, we purchased some peanut brittle, jams, and jarred veggies. Just bring cash, of course. It would be nice to come back and take a wagon tour but it also feels weird that our modern-day culture sees the Amish as some sort of entertainment. So, I'm very indifferent about this experience.

Not only is there a ton of beautiful home decor and gifts (think Joanna Gaines/Fixer Upper style stuff) but also some clothing as well. Compared to similar boutiques in Franklin and Nashville, I found the prices to be very reasonable too. I will definitely be stopping by this store every time I'm in Columbia, because it just makes me happy. You are way too smart for your own good guessing correctly on your first try. Well done you. The Barrel Shop in Lynchburg is adjacent to their main gift shop in the adorable little downtown (only area of town?) section. Inside you can find gorgeous items made from used Jack Daniels barrels. Just as a sampling they have - bar stools, mini bars, serving trays, pub tables, chests, wall bars, birdhouses, keychains, boxes, rocking chairs, coasters, and planters. I didn't find the prices to be all that bad either though a tad on the high side - $70 for a planter but keychains were just $5. Jack Daniels doesn't use their barrels twice so they have to do something with them! What better souvenir to get from the distillery?! Everything is very nicely crafted, I must say. If you spend $10 here (and at many of the other shops as well), you'll get a free Jack Daniels shot glass. Shot shot shot!

I enjoyed talking to the girl who was working this day who recently relocated with her husband from NY after hanging up her life there to settle nicely in TN. Definitely plan some time after stopping at the Jack Daniel's Distillery to come to this shopping center and grab some pizza next to the Harley store OR get some barbeque at the opposite end as you won't be disappointed and mill around all these Mom & Pop shops and don't forget the other Whiskey tasting room across the way in this center! Such fine Southern hospitality by all! Fun times and so glad we got to mill around this shopping center!
