We stayed here last night. It's very clear what you are getting into here; a somewhat outdated budget offering. I have elected to rate this at five stars because it was excellent at it's targeted purpose; easy checkin, clean, functional, secure, cheap. Without any pretensions to any higher quality than mere temporary lodging, The small size of the room and lack of amenities was hardly surprising. The only complaint that I could have is that the baseboard heater seemed a bit single-minded in it's determination to heat the room, resulting in me awoken at 2:00 A.M. feeling half-broiled. read more

I am writing this review IN the room. This is a 4 stars on Yelp for sure, but in the grand scheme of things, I would rate this as a 2-3 star out of 5 if I were reviewing for Hotels.com The check in process was super easy, and the woman at the front desk was really friendly! I read some of the user comments on google and on priceline, so when I walked into my room the thing I noted the fastest was that my room smelled freshly cleaned. The room itself is definitely dated. There are marks all up the walls, and even with the non-smoking designation of my room I can still tell from the smell of the curtains that the rule is not enforced. The bathroom is definitely in need of a remodel... It's yellow. Literally, mustard yellow. The bed is comfortable, though I can tell that it will need a new mattress soon as well. With all of the negatives listed, why oh why would I be giving this place a 4 star rating? My room doesn't have bedbugs, it's $44 after tax, and I have free wi-fi, HBO, and supposedly a breakfast tomorrow morning. I could have paid $75 down the street, but is it really worth the $30+ for a room that I am only going to use for sleeping?? I am very pleased with the value, as well as the service here. My husband and I stayed here for four nights. We were in town for a wedding, and traveling on a budget, so I could hardly pass up the price. This is your standard cheap motel; the sink was that 70s yellow color, the room had that motel smell (not smoke--they having smoking and non-smoking rooms), but everything was clean, A/C worked, and the old TV even had an HDMI conversion port. The website said each room came with a mini fridge, and some had a microwave; we lucked out and got both. That mini fridge was super cold, too--perfect for our energy drinks. You do meet all kinds of people at these sorts of places--we had a very interesting conversation with our neighbor the first night that we were too polite to back out of--but most guests kept to themselves. They have had a semi recent change of management (I think the guy said they'd been there for a few months now), but they were lovely. This isn't a Hilton Doubletree, but it was clean, everything worked, and the rooms were secure. If you're on a budget, or you like to meet random people on your journey, I recommend stopping by. read more

OK. Lets be real. This is at best a 2 or 3 star place. We needed a quick stop over and this is what we picked based on reviews. It was basically a clean place and cheap. That's where the good ends. We had no soap, no ice bucket, no wi-if, a dirty towel and group of people that had beer party outside until 2 am that would wake you up. I just tried to call this motel to book a room for tomorrow. Apparently they have been receiving prank calls. When they answered the phone they were cursing at me and threatening to have me arrested. I assured them I had not been calling them and they rudely told me to find another room and hung up on me! Horrible customer service! I travel for business, I've probably slept in over 100 hotel rooms this year and this was by far not only the worst experience but the most bizarre experience. I've never met more rude people in my life. They first tried to tell me I didn't have a reservation from Hotwire when I literally saw it sitting in their fAx machine behind them. The old check in woman reluctantly FINALLY grabbed the paper to see that it was in fact my reservation. Then she went on while checking me in about how I need to sit down and be patient because "she isn't a fairy and can't check me in any faster" snapping at me, rolling her eyes, and taking FOREVER to check me in (it was 3am, I had been driving all night and all I wanted to do was check in and sleep) she was being quite loud, a man emerged from the back room in his pajamas and asked what all the yelling was (mind you, I was just sitting there in awe of this woman, and I hadn't raised my voice once, I asked to me checked in please because I was very tired, I said it politely) the old woman replied saying "she says I'm not going fast enough and I'm being rude) so he immediately says (as he throws my ID and credit card at me) that i can "just take my things and get the hell out) it escalated so quickly. I was in shock. They seemed to be maybe on drugs? Or maybe with a mental disorder of some kind. Here's the kicker: when you walk in, no one is actually at the desk, there's a phone with a sign that says "call to check in" so I did. The same lady who eventually would be the old woman that checks me in, answered with a huge sigh of inconvenience saying "yes?" I replied "I have a reservation for tonight" and she let out a HUGE inconvenienced sigh saying "okaaaay" and hung up. I immediately knew this was going to be interesting, so I told my boyfriend to get his phone out and now I have th entire interaction on camera and have sent it to Hotwire to let them know NOT to recommend this hotel to Anyone in the future. Ok. This place is worth the price if you're not picky. It's clean. No bugs. Friendly staff. Park outside room. HBO. Wi-fi. Pets allowed ($10 flat fee, no cats, big fee if you don't tell them about your pet). Outdated yes, but who cares. Mustard yellow bathroom. No toilet lid. Microwave, albeit antique. Mini-fridge. A/c took a bit but finally cooled down the room. Soap and shampoo provided. For $44 total, hell yeah. I thought about staying another night just for the hell of it. read more

My younger brother is traveling across the country, in the storm of the century! Needless to say he was in a pretty bad accident near by, so while his truck was getting fixed he stayed here. The first night was no problem, and everyone was so incredibly helpful in the town itself from the tow truck driver to the mechanics, and at first even the owners wife was lovely (my brother has Autism so this level of help is priceless for us as a family). However things took an incredibly sour turn, over something as simple as a credit card that was input incorrectly (which was never admitted to me, only to my brother after the fact) See, my brother has very limited funds and when this accident happened, I took on the financial support to make sure he got his truck fixed and made it to Bismark safely (after his accident we were all incredibly rattled) as well as covering his hotels. So, I had called in, asked if it was okay for me to pay for his hotel another night and the wife was such a huge help-said it was "no problem" and the card went through just fine. We then went on to talk about the weather for the next day or two, they will know more than me on what is considered safe for someone like my brother with such limited winter weather driving experience on what he should do or not (wait it out or head out basically!) This is when things went south, I called back about 30 mins later to ask if it was possible to charge the first night he was there on my card as well (I travel a lot for work and more often than not, the card is charged AFTER the stay to add in any fees that may have been charged to the room) if not, no big deal but I just wanted to see if it was possible, the wife then states (with sass!) my card had been declined, and that my younger brother paid for it already. I was admittedly frustrated with the situation, why did no one call me? She knows the situation and has been so helpful before,as my brother has EXTREMELY limited funds and needs cash for emergencies, so I asked if she could refund his card and run mine...this was the owners response: "I have personal sh** I am dealing with, I do not have time for these games, I do not have time for this or you two and your brother was more than capable of paying for his room. When a card is declined, it is declined we don't mess around with that. Its not my problem." I tried to keep my composure as this was unbelievably unprofessional and unbelievably rude. She then goes on to talk over me, interrupt me and say she cant/wont refund the card "it costs them money", I would have to deal with her husband because she wont deal with us anymore. All the while, I was blindsided by her extreme aggressiveness and point bank rudeness...couldn't get out more than 5 words!! I called my credit card company, to figure out what the problem was as I had already unlocked it to make sure it wouldn't be declined (calling in the payments had already alerted them lol) but come to find out, SHE entered it in wrong! I understand personal problems, I am a part time care giver for my grandfather/my mother is homeless, my autistic brother is driving across the country and almost died last night via a black ice attack-so I totally and completely understand personal problems but to allow them to spill over into your work and AT your client over something that in all actuality, was her fault is horrible business practices. When I called back, to say, "Hey-so my card was not declined you accidentally entered it in wrong, can we please do something about this. My brother needs his cash-" She cuts me off and goes off, gives the phone to her husband who proceeds to tell me: "We don't kiss a** here, we do not do the yes ma'am or no ma'am and the customer is not always right. I have 100 customers to deal with, and we don't have the time to deal with this. I do not believe my wife said that-you were being rude and just kept going off and your card was declined-we don't mess with that. Your card was declined its not our problem. " Every time I even TRIED to speak, he would put the phone down, and start talking with his wife over how I "wouldn't shut up" over my card... This was, HANDS down the WORST experience I have ever had in a motel/hotel, or with any hospitality staff-to have owners doing this to customers is honestly, disgusting. To treat people like YOU are doing THEM a favor by allowing you stay there is disgusting. To cause so much unnecessary stress to an entire family, who is trying to GIVE YOU MONEY to insure the safety of a family member like its nu-sense to you because you "have a lot of personal sh**" to deal with that day??And it was YOUR MISTAKE to begin with?? Absolutely floored, and disgusted. I can put up with a lot, as I myself manage a multi million dollar company who deals with (personally!) tens thousands of some of the most demanding people across the globe, and these two managed to burn my biscuits black. read more

I am very satisfied with my stay here. My dad and I are driving across country and upon encountering nasty weather on I-90 we decided to stop in as this was one of the few places with a decent review and inexpensive price in the area. Turns out it was good we stayed as they just closed one of the local roads. The innkeeper knew this but still kept her rate at $44 (it is the off season) even though others were jacking prices up, way to be awesome! We got a clean room, reasonably decorated, twin beds, TV, and fridge.
