There's an ice skating ring in front of the building to get you into the seasons mood. The rooms are quaint, clean and cozy. Actually particularly the tiling in the bathroom and the size of the bathroom are amazing. We spent a lot of time at the bar area and the spa. The spa is equipped with a steam room and a sauna. The sauna was no more than 40 Celsius. The steam room was okay in terms of heat. The jacuzzi was lukewarm at best. The pool was well heated and you can swim nice long lapse. The fitness studio is equipped with techno gym equipment, lots of weight equipment, even TRX, a rowing machine and much more. It has a good size. You find towels and water there (not always a given). I very much enjoyed the changing area, which offered GHD blow dryers. The staff (including the facilities guy Dell and the front desk lady Ella) were soooo kind. Big thank you to them. We were a bit disappointed at breakfast. The service was super slow and the selection often limited (because the staff didn't have time to refill quickly). We waited about 20 mins on tea and coffee at breakfast. What also bothered me a bit was how cold it was in many parts of the main building. The insulation is rather sparse in these older buildings. The windows are single paneled. If you sit in the bar area, you're guaranteed to feel a cold shiver sitting by the window area.

They couldn't be more helpful or approachable. The hotel itself is an outstanding building (reached it's current incarnation during the Edwardian time I believe). Surrounded by 3,000 acres including a golf course. We went for a wedding, so didn't sample the golf course, or the Spa, or the conference facilities etc, but the formal gardens are well cared for and a great backdrop to the photos! And the food, a subject very close to my heart; was brilliant. My wife is on a non-lactose, non-gluten diet and of a 5 course meal on offer, she was able to have ... 5 courses. OK, we had to advise them in advance, but the adaptation was without fault. It's the first time my wife has been able to have a full meal at a restaurant/hotel for years! Oh, almost forgot the accommodation; we stayed in one of the mews cottages for the Saturday night; excellent! due largely as a result of the housekeeping, a lot of which goes on behind the scenes, but as I said the staff were all amazing. The only downside is that we live in Somerset and Eastwell Manor is, of course in Kent, so we won't be going there too often, but distance is the only barrier. Would totally recommend this venue.

But it was cheap good food and loads of it. Thus we were ever so pleased to find that this fine establishment had really transformed. The place was incredibly well managed, the wait for our food was only about 5 minutes to which a well co-ordinated team of young staff quickly and discretely laid all our food. Having been a waiter once myself I do detest when an establishment overbears a youngster with too many plates. Our Hostess Karina was brilliant. She truly made the evening wonderful. She obviously had the place under control and running like clockwork, its so nice to speak to staff who you can completely trust with your order within seconds of meeting them and Karina is certainly that. The food may I say was brilliant authentic British cuisine, everything an Englishmen wants when he enters a pub/ restaurant. They labelled the spicy stuff which thankfully was only a couple of options. Obviously I went for the fish and chips which was marvellous. The barman knew my cocktail order straight away and was as quick with my order. Good to see a young man shaven & not covered in tattoos and silly ear things. Parking is brilliant, plenty of space and you can sit right by the window and watch your pride and joy while chatting with the otherhalf. Toilets clean and luxurious. Standing up, initially, was difficult and that was without a drink. Which led us to going back down to the bar for a snifter. Here I discovered a new vodka to me, Mermaid Salt Vodka. Thought I'd try it and it was 'unusual' as it left a very slight salt water taste on the tongue after a while. Before dinner I decided to have another. The dining room was a sight to behold. Wonderful white linen and a beautiful plate as a setting. Obviously a pre-empt to a wonderful meal following. And it was. Starters of scorched local mackerel and cod brandade fishcakes. Thank goodness there wasn't a rush as they were delicious. Main meal of shared rack of blackface lamb, wonderfully pink and not over cooked. Couldn't finish the whole rack but we did give it a go. All helped down with a bottle of Lychgate Bacchus from the Bolney Estate. I finished with a selection of British cheeses and a port. Now ready for a good night sleep if the ghosts of this establishment allowed it. Yes, it is haunted. My partner was sure she saw someone while in the bar and heard footsteps during the night. Breakfast was, as dinner, superb. All local produce which, to me, is important. Service throughout our stay was second to none. A wonderful overnight stay and a thank you to all staff.
