Not a bad hotel. Typical Courtyard. Plus is that there are plenty of restaurants just walking distance. Negative is noise. Right next to freeway. No bathtubs either. Stayed this past week since lowest rate. Decent parking but next to Hudson River. Was worried my Jeep would get swept away with all flooding this past week, but was safe. Walking distance to RPI which is a plus if attending University function there. read more

Awesome hotel with plenty of parking on the backside and really cool, modern, decor. Super easy to check in, forgot to do it on my app otherwise it would've been even easier. I stayed here only one night but it's the perfect place to stay at near downtown Troy. Highly recommend the Venezuelan spot right nearby "Oh Corn!" and Jacob Alejandro for some delicious coffee. The room was very clean, cozy and cold. The perfect way you want it! The blackout curtains kept all the light out and during the day it had some amazing natural light coming in. The lobby area is perfectly equipped with lots of TVs, booths, seating areas for business meetings or just getting some work done and hanging out. Overall, great place to stay at if you're in the area. There's so much to do in Troy and so many fun local businesses to visit! read more

Nice clean modern hotel, but noisy. We stayed a night at Courtyard by Marriott of Troy for 1 night in Feb 2025 while visiting RPI. The hotel is super clean and looks and feels like recently built. Mattress was comfortable, the curtains provided full darkness, the climate unit worked smoothly, and the bathroom was excellent and clean. Location is very convenient, close to highway exit. That would be a perfect stay, but unfortunately there was a serious problem with noise coming from the highway and Hudson bridge next to the hotel. Buses, trucks, motorcycles, crazy road racers, etc. - we heard all of them, especially as the morning was approaching. The noise was heard even with earplugs, though this way it was tolerable. Hotel in such location must have sound proof windows. We've been to many hotels next to highways but never had a problem with noise. Had to read other people's reviews. We can recommend this hotel for those for whom heavy road noise is not an issue. read more

I've stayed in several Marriotts, and this was one of the nicer ones! Great location - not far from the highway, right on the river, and close to many great eateries downtown. (Including being right next to River Street Market- which I was in town to do an event at, so super convenient!) Gorgeous view of the waterfront from the lobby. Check-in was very quick. The room was spacious and very nice. Modern and nothing looked worn. WiFi was a little slow in the room at times, which was a bummer. (The reason I deducted a star - pretty important when traveling on business, however everything else was pretty great.) Luckily, the lobby was pretty deserted so I was able to work from there. I'd stay again if I was in the area! read more

The Experience here was very pleasant , the rooms are extremely clean and big . The front desk was amazing and Britney was very helpful at check in and also helped with some menus in case we wanted to order something . At check out we needed to extend another hour and they were very accommodating as well . The only disappointing thing is that they don't have any kind of complementary breakfast, you actually have to pay for breakfast and the menu is extremely limited . If I'm gonna pay for something than at least have a better menu and not only 5 items . Aside from that it is a very nice place with plenty of room at the lobby if you wanna just hangout and kill time by the river . read more

Wow! Let me say, I wish that I was able to get a waterfront side room. I had requested it, but it was unavailable before I checked in. This hotel is decent with friendly staff that seems to understand how Bonvoy welcome gifts work, you would(n't) be surprised at how few Courtyard properties understand how their own programs function! I was beyond thrilled with their EV charging station at the property. Though I do wish that they required registration of the car at the front desk at check-in so that only guests can charge without getting towed. It can be hit or miss when people want to get some free miles. I'll be certain to stay here in the future when I visit Troy! Though I do wish that they provided a welcome gift for my stay with points like some properties do, it's always nice when they go the extra mile. read more

This was a lovely hotel stay. We picked Troy as we normally stay in Massachusetts and always want to go further west in New York but run out of time. Researched and this looked like a good location near food that would be a good base for traveling west, and I was not wrong. To be honest, the hotel exceeded my expectations and I'm going to look for the Marriott brand whenever traveling going forward! Check-in was a breeze. The man who checked us in was very friendly and informative. Things have changed due to Covid measures like no room cleaning and the on-site restaurant is now closed but that was understood before I checked in. There is plenty of parking - the lot is huge. The room was so nice. I loved how comfortable the bed was. No back issues either night. The light block curtain worked so well that we found it hard to get out of bed. I never heard other guests, it was very quiet. I heard a rumble or two from the road but nothing too bad. We didn't get a river view but you could see it from the hall. The tv was fantastic, although I wished it had more sports channels. The couch was comfortable and there were plenty of sockets. The bathroom was awesome. I loved the shower set up! You have the controls far from the shower head so you can adjust temperature without worrying. And the room also had a microwave and fridge. No issues with cleanliness at all either. One thing that happened while we were there and I thought the staff handled really well was part of the siding of the hotel facing the river fell off due to high winds. The staff were outside and directed us to a better parking area and called to check in and let us know what was happening. Very thorough and great customer service. read more

Rooms are nice and the establishment has mostly pleasant staff, this said, the tv line up has removed certain ch's, clearly reflecting it's own political views on to its paying customers. I do not believe hotels or any business should edit there tv line, it's freedom of speech and people have the right to hear all sides, when big business try's to shut the voices of anyone down, I am opposed. read more

Not a a family friendly location. Neighborhood is a little sketchy. Surprised there was not security in the building or parking lot. Also, very noisy. Could hear very cat that drove by all night into the early morning. I would avoid this Marriott. Only stayed one night but will not stay here again. read more

Me and my family came for a hockey tournament for my son. Although we did have some room issues regarding time of stay it was a very nice place to relax and have fun. No pool but so many other activities to do making you forget pools exist. Would recommend but make sure to take a picture of your confirmation code! Overall very nice hotel. read more

We stayed one night. The hotel is very nice in the lobby. The service from the staff was great, they were very attentive and available. We sat on the spacious porch overlooking the Potomac River while we sipped some wine, it was enjoyable. There are a number of gas heaters out there to extend the season. The rooms were typical Marriott style, with lots of easily cleaned surfaces and a big shower and bathroom. On the not so great side the planters on the porch are huge and would be a great asset if they were not totally neglected, there were only weeds in grasses in there in late June. The other issue was in the lack of detail the maid service used to clean the rooms. We found hair on the toilet and throughout the bathroom, not ours , the seat was grimy, and after lifting it we could see a brown / reddish liquid color coming out from under the hinge area. We needed to clean in order to use the bathroom. There was also a big yellow stain on the bedspread. In all fairness, we should have asked the very helpful maî·tre d to send cleaners to the room but did not want the wait or hassle at the time. read more

I and my family stayed at this hotel and found that there was several people of color staying in this hotel. That were all PUT on the first floor!! The mananger was very disrespectful as was another female employee. The rooms were horrible and the service wasn't what I hoped for being that this was a very new hotel. The staff just use those keys without knocking and getting a response from the occupants of the room to come in. read more

We regularly stay at Marriott properties and this was a real standout. Check-in is on upper level while parking is behind the hotel on the lower level. If you need a luggage trolley, temporarily park at check-in level to unload vehicle. Otherwise, feel free to park out back and walk in with luggage. Lobby space is used for check-in, seating, tables, TVs, bar, appetizers, and Starbucks. You must use your room key in the elevator to access any floor above the lobby. Make sure you each have a key since one of you may get stuck at Starbucks waiting for the other to come get them. Food and beverages ordered can be charged to your room. Also, I was informed to use the key card to enter the hotel if we were out late (I think after 10 pm). Room 304 was spacious and included an oversized seating area with ottoman. The ice and vending machine was near the elevator; it was a quiet area. Narrow closet for hanging clothes and included iron and ironing board. Plenty of flat surface space (see desk area). Great fluffy absorbent towels. Hairdryer in bathroom along with magnified makeup mirror and terrific lighting. Shower was spacious but I wasn't familiar with only half a glass wall with no door (I understand it's like Europe.) We found it was fine but could see how someone could easily soak the floor. The toiletries included shampoo, conditions, soaps, and lotion (enough for one night.) The bed was spotless, soft linens, with a variety of pillows for firmness. Nightstands on both sides with great side lighting and over headboard lighting. On nightstands, lots of plug outlets and USB ports (many throughout the room.) Housekeeping did a fabulous job cleaning our room as if we had just arrived. They refreshed the toiletries but overlooked the paper cups and tea I had used. We had time to relax in the lobby and brought our own beers and snacks while chatting with others and the game on TV. We were there on a snowy night and the plow was regularly in the parking lot and we came out the next morning to find our car was bushed off (wow!) Practically didn't say goodbye and we were checked out. I didn't have much interaction with staff but I saw they were available if I needed them. I had no issues and can only gush over the enjoyment of my stay. read more
