The Experience here was very pleasant , the rooms are extremely clean and big . The front desk was amazing and Britney was very helpful at check in and also helped with some menus in case we wanted to order something . At check out we needed to extend another hour and they were very accommodating as well . The only disappointing thing is that they don't have any kind of complementary breakfast, you actually have to pay for breakfast and the menu is extremely limited . If I'm gonna pay for something than at least have a better menu and not only 5 items . Aside from that it is a very nice place with plenty of room at the lobby if you wanna just hangout and kill time by the river .

Pretty art on the wall above the bed

This was a lovely hotel stay. We picked Troy as we normally stay in Massachusetts and always want to go further west in New York but run out of time. Researched and this looked like a good location near food that would be a good base for traveling west, and I was not wrong. To be honest, the hotel exceeded my expectations and I'm going to look for the Marriott brand whenever traveling going forward! Check-in was a breeze. The man who checked us in was very friendly and informative. Things have changed due to Covid measures like no room cleaning and the on-site restaurant is now closed but that was understood before I checked in. There is plenty of parking - the lot is huge. The room was so nice. I loved how comfortable the bed was. No back issues either night. The light block curtain worked so well that we found it hard to get out of bed. I never heard other guests, it was very quiet. I heard a rumble or two from the road but nothing too bad. We didn't get a river view but you could see it from the hall. The tv was fantastic, although I wished it had more sports channels. The couch was comfortable and there were plenty of sockets. The bathroom was awesome. I loved the shower set up! You have the controls far from the shower head so you can adjust temperature without worrying. And the room also had a microwave and fridge. No issues with cleanliness at all either. One thing that happened while we were there and I thought the staff handled really well was part of the siding of the hotel facing the river fell off due to high winds. The staff were outside and directed us to a better parking area and called to check in and let us know what was happening. Very thorough and great customer service.

Check-in was very easy, everybody was friendly and helpful. The complementary water bottle was a nice little touch. The price of the hotel was very reasonable, and the place was spotless. The hotel does have a laundry room, and it is not expensive. The room was large, and also spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was well stocked and clean, and the TV had plenty of channels with a good picture. The Wi-Fi was easily fast enough to stream video. There was a fridge, but there was not a microwave in the room. I had dinner at dinosaur BBQ right across the street.(see separate review.) the food was amazing and the prices were very reasonable. The complementary full hot breakfast in the morning. Had lots of choices, and the food was also very good. I would stay here again when flying out of Albany with no question whatsoever. Thanks for a great night.

Checkout was quick and easy as well , they also have coffee available at the lobby all day . Will definitely go back the next time we are in the area , not to mention they are also very affordable.

The building itself is impressive, although maybe not quite as impressive as the castle-looking building next door. Our party of seven settled in at the bar as there otherwise did not seem to be a large enough table for all of us to gather around in either the main lounge area or a small room off to the side. The dark wood paneled walls, large fireplace, assortment of easy chairs, couches, and high desktop table gave off a feeling of warmth and welcoming. The friendly bartender introduced herself (sorry I've forgotten her name) and informed us that spirit-wise, the bar was capable of preparing the standard, traditional drinks like Manhattans, martinis, etc. All beers were poured from cans, and at my request, she recited the names of about six that were available. I don't believe anyone in our party inquired about the wines that were available. The building simply calls out for an explanation of its history. Upon our request, the bartender offered to provide either the "brief" or "full" option. We requested the full history. She was obviously well up to the task. You would be amazed at the variety of things you could learn here. Just to touch on a few key topics that were mentioned, consider Alexander Hamilton's wife, puffed rice, Bab-o cleanser (cue up the jingle), Bishop Gibbons, and an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know what the normal food arrangements are in the Lounge. I'm guessing that our out-of-town hosts requested some snacks for us as a few bowls appeared with mixed nuts, crackers and cheese, fresh grapes, humus, and warm pretzel/croissant rolls, and a plate of prosciutto wrapped cream cheese. Overall, the atmosphere here is simply friendly and inviting. I think it will become an occasional gathering place for our local friends when looking for a place that is quiet and relaxing.

When you get to the airport call the hotel and have the shuttle come pick you up. It is comfortable and free and runs from 7am to 11pm. Definitely this was a good perk. The hotel has a nice old wood paneled lobby that has some questionable updates. Is ok though and they have fruit water on tap. Elevators were quick. The room was nice, a reasonably good size with a comfy bed and a large bathroom. It was great. You can go and walk around the neighborhood and see the state Capitol, county and city buildings, and many restaurants and food trucks. The surrounding buildings are a mix of the best 1880s and 1960s architecture. When it is time to leave go to the lobby and take the shuttle back to the airport. I booked this hotel with Marriott points and I thought it was very reasonable for the quality. I don't know the cash value.

The climate controls in the room also worked exceptionally well, which made for a great night of sleep. Parking was quite easy too. The hotel garage is convenient, and I liked that you can basically "pay" for parking with your room key during checkout, then just drop the keys in the box at the garage exit on your way out. Very smooth process! The location is excellent as well -- just a couple blocks from the government buildings and right in the middle of downtown Albany. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient hotel experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

By the time this happened, all other hotels in the surrounding area were filled because it was graduation weekend. Luckily I was able to sleep on a couch with family nearby. I think they are trying to look professional through their website and booking system but the actual people working here aren't as professional as their website leads you to believe. Look elsewhere.

When I did get through they seemed busy and dismissed my concern that my arrival would be at 1am or later. I was told to call back the next day or just use the app. Our flight was cancelled so we were out on another flight not arriving until 3pm the next day. We paid in full for two nights and I had messaged the hotel to let them know and apparently they messaged back at some point asking if they could check me in. It was late so after waiting a while for a response and nothing I went to bed. Fast forward to morning, they canceled my reservation due to a "no show". I only found out because the app now showed no reservation. They definitely added to the awful travel day by telling me on the phone it was my fault I didn't check in and they had no rooms left. I called again and someone much more helpful said they would figure it out and get me in for a room which they did. Next, our stay. Checked in and were thrilled to see our room was on the 15th floor! Our room key didn't work but luckily a cleaning crew member let us in. We went to the desk and told them and were told maintenance would come and it's probably the battery. Maintenance never came. I messed with the door and if you are able to open the door in less than a second between the green turning red you can get in. Took a dozen try's. Called the front desk and the phone in the room was so muffled. Told them again about the issue and requested extra towels. Waited a few hours then gave up and went to dinner. Came back and didn't bother to ask again but stopped to buy a water and they gave it tow which was nice. I did the same trick to get back in the room. Success after a dozen try's. Later, I really wanted another drink and a cake slice or snack. The room service button did not work. Called the front desk and asked if they had room service and they said yes I'll transfer you. It went to a weird voicemail. So I gave up. They would make more money if the room service calls worked, they had it on the app or at minimum a menu and instructions. The room itself wasn't great but the view was nice. It was fairly clean so that was a plus but definitely very outdated and there was only one towel and two of us. The bed was very comfortable however! Overall I would not recommend staying here due ti lack of care and poor service. Seems really unorganized and nothing actually gets done. Had breakfast after check out and it was pretty good but was $25 and the same as the "free" breakfast we have gotten at other hotels. Parking was $22 a day. Oh and surprise our room key didn't work to let us out the garage either. Had to use the call assistant button and thankfully someone opened the gate. Also, was told we are out of luck for the night we didn't get but paid for which I already expected and honestly think the hotel needs the extra income so they can perhaps invest back into its operations. If you choose to stay here just don't expect much.
