If you've stayed at other Courtyard properties before, you pretty much know what you're getting here--and that's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, you'll feel right at home. It's your familiar Courtyard experience, just with a lot more chocolate nearby. The location is very convenient to the various Hershey attractions, making it a good home base if you're in town for Hersheypark or just looking to explore the area. The property has the usual Courtyard amenities, including an indoor pool, fitness center, and their Bistro, where you can grab Starbucks coffee and other al-a-carte items, although a bit on the pricey side. Our room was a good size and had a mini fridge and in-room safe, which are always nice to have. The bathroom had a large walk-in glass shower, although there was no actual shower door. The property also has one EV charger, which is a nice bonus if you need to charge your vehicle. There are two elevators, but unfortunately one was out of order during our stay. With only one elevator doing all the heavy lifting, elevator service was definitely on the slow side. The biggest downside was the price. At north of $500 for one night, this definitely isn't what I'd call a bargain. At that price, some complimentary Hershey chocolate in our room would have been nice! That said, the hotel was clean, well maintained, and overall a comfortable place to stay. Nothing particularly fancy or unique, but it delivers the consistent Courtyard experience you'd expect and has a very convenient location for visiting Hershey. read more

We stayed here because the prices were reasonable. - They had karaoke on Friday until 11pm. If you sang, you got a raffle ticket for 150 Bonvoy points. - The prices for the Starbucks in the lobby are outraeous. $17 for a breakfast sandwich. No we did not eat there. - They have a water jug for "free water" that was always out of water. - They have an indoor pool which is the size of a hot tub. TINY. And there are no chairs. So expect to stand. - We had to call twice then actually walk to the front desk because the room phone was not working and the front desk lady couldn't hear me. I needed bath wash because ours was empty (not sure why housekeeping doesn't check this). - No safe in the room but there is a fridge and microwave. Makes zero sense to me. Next time, we will be staying at the lodge. read more

The patrons staying at the hotel last night were pretty much split between large family groups with young children and singles/couples/friend groups like myself. We were all going to two very different concerts in the area that night. Upon returning to the hotel after the concerts and planning on a snack and drink at the bar, we found that the giant TV in the lobby/bar area was tuned to the UFC event. The huge and rambunctious family crowd was gathered around to watch what the others of us felt was inappropriate, especially since it had been mentioned that there would be a karaoke night. When we asked if the show could be changed, we were told that the other guests had requested to watch, and it would stay tuned to the UFC event. I feel like a hotel should respect the values and requests of all guests in their common areas, not just one group's. read more

I don't know why I keep having bad luck with Courtyard hotels but this is getting irritating. Was in Hershey for a conference. Night 1, my tv kept having issues - it kept freezing, rebooting, and sometimes just wouldn't even turn on. The remote was working, and I unplugged/replugged the tv several times. Finally called the front desk and asked if there was an issue with the service and they said no. I asked for them to send someone to take a look and they said the tech was gone for the day but they could switch my room if I wanted. I was already unpacked and getting ready for bed, so didn't want to repack everything after the last time I had to do this at another Courtyard - they said they would send someone in the morning. The morning came and I was working from the hotel room for a few hours as the conference didn't start till lunch time. No one came to fix the tv. When I was leaving for the conference, I stopped at the front desk and they said they'd said someone right away. Night 2 I come back and the tv still isn't working. I call the front desk again. They have no idea if anyone came to try to fix it, but again said the tech had left for the day and they could switch my room. I'm really getting irritated at this point, and I said no again please just send someone in the morning. They never sent someone. The tv was never fixed my whole stay. They mentioned giving me a discount on the room but I had prepaid through a third party website so they couldn't. Did offer me free breakfast and stuff from the market though. In addition, housekeeping came to my room every day but it seems all they did was make the bed and empty the trash. They didn't replenish any of the coffee supplies so I had to go to the front desk to get more. Took some dirty towels left on the floor for pickup but not all of them. Also, there was no lotion in the bathroom? Used the gym one morning and the water bubbler in the gym room was completely empty so had to get water from the lobby. Overall a very frustrating hotel experience. read more

This hotel isn't far from Hershey Chocolate Factory, Hershey Park, Troeg Brewery, and outlets. Super convenient. The receptionist was very friendly and attentive. After we entered our room, she called to make sure everything was fine. The room is spacious with a sofa facing a nice size television. The microwave and refrigerator are nicely stored in a cabinet. Next to it there's a single serve coffeemaker with the pods. The bathroom is also spacious with ample amount of towels. The lobby area has three cushioned lounge chairs facing the television, very relaxing. It also has several chairs and tables for a small group meeting. There's a bistro if you want some breakfast, snacks, and drinks. Breakfast isn't complimentary. The gym is next to the pool near the elevator. It has elliptical machines, treadmills, yoga mats, dumbbells, and weight machine. They provide towels, sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizers, and water. You can also watch television while working out. Next to the gym is laundry room for the guests. There's a washing machine and a dryer. It's a very nice amenity. Staff was very nice and friendly, I felt very welcomed here. My wife and I were taking a cross country driving vacation and booked the Courtyard Hershey for one night. This was by far the most expensive hotel on our trip but it was one of our worst experiences. The carpet was ripped. The shower had no shampoo. A soaking wet towel was left in the bathroom. There was only enough coffee in the room for one of us. The worst part though was when we got up early to shower, the shower didn't work. We told the morning clerk as we were checking out and she said the manager would call us that day to make things right. He didn't call. I ended up calling him two days later but I had to leave him a detailed message and a request to call me. He hasn't. It's one thing to get a bad room but to have the general manager totally ignore the situation is very, very disappointing. Just based on that, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Very nice and clean. Staff is very good. But be warned there is no complimentary breakfast like most hotels these days. And that fine. They'll sell you over priced (and slow) breakfast. But I draw the line with their decision not to even put out coffee in the morning. Everything about this place feels like you're being "nickeled and dimed." I draw the line with that. BOOK YOUR WEEKEND RESERVATIONS SEPARATELY. We just ran into a situation where we had booked 2 nights in a row several months ago. No mention of a two night minimum. We tried to modify the reservation over a week in advance and the manager said that there is a two night minimum during summer post Memorial Day weekend. However, when we checked the Bonvoy website, this is actually not true, and reservations can be booked in one night increments throughout June and July on Saturdays. We are loyal Bonvoy members and found this to be incredibly disappointing. read more

I'm old enough to remember when you'd be driving past motels and their neon sign would try to lure you in with FREE HBO! - and maybe a Jacuzzi. Now you're able to turn on that flat screen in your room and plug in your Netflix and/or HBO Go password to get something playing. That's progress, people! The deets that actually matter: Clean room. Friendly staff (most of them). Just a 3-4 minute drive to Hershey Park. Nice (enough) view - a country club/golf course seemed to be in every direction of us. Biggest issue: their pool was a big goose egg. Ridiculously (over)chlorinated. It was cold, not just a bit cool but chilled. And it was tiny. (And the pool towels were just a smidge bigger than your average Wet-Nap.) Would we stay here again? I think so. read more

This Marriott is fairly new, everything is clean, and the staff are helpful and courteous. My requests for extra towels/pillows and late checkout were fulfilled with ease by the front desk. All the gym equipment was in working condition and clean. The furniture in the room and lobby all looked well kept. The office machines were also working and were used to print tickets to the nearby attraction. Would definitely return when I can. read more

I am reaching out to you to let you know you have a huge issue with your courtyard hotel in Hershey PA , 515 E Chocolate Ave. Manager Elias Thompson did absolutely nothing about the astounding amount of complaints of children running up and down the hallways. When Anna, night person, called him he duly threatened to kick the familie(s) out. This is unacceptable. This woman is place in a dangerous situation . Not only this but the bathrooms are poorly cleaned and so is the pool area. This is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed and I will make sure every single media platform knows. The bathrooms are not cleaned ! The pool is not taken care of and the manager does nothing. This is a garbage place to stay and I'm still here waiting on a response from the hotel. I have been ready to go since yesterday and I checked in YESTERDAY. Even after the fact the same kids kept running up and down banging on our door. Your staff should not be doing YOUR JOB! The very good, the bad and the ugly. We recently stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Hershey. Our room was huge, the beds were really comfortable and the room was nicely appointed. They offered cable along with streaming options. The bathroom was large . For the bad, the bathroom was freezing as the heating/AC unit was only in the room, and the heat didn't quite make it into the bathroom. Now the UGLY......we learned that Hershey has a lot of freight trains which pass behind the hotel. It seemed like it was all night long. And I guess there was a nearby Rail Crossing so the horn/whistle was blowing every time. Not sure if sound deadening windows would eliminate the noise but it couldn't hurt. read more

Came to Hersheypark today and we are staying at the brand new Courtyard Hershey Chocolate Avenue. This Marriott is fabulous. Tonight is the second night of their opening. Giving them 1 star is a gift, they deserve zero. Hotel staff checked my family into a room with no air conditioning in late June. Made multiple inquiries about when it would be fixed and was assured it would be by the end of the day. Notified around 10pm that night the air would not be fixed and we were told we could find another hotel if we liked. That late in the day no other hotels were available, so we were stuck sleeping in a extremely warm, uncomfortable room. Hotel staff was rude and not helpful at all. Have tried contacting hotel management and have yet to hear back from them after multiple attempts. read more

We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. We booked 3 rooms for a family trip. First, we were not given the correct sized rooms we booked and were told there were no rooms left and no roll away cots. The rooms were not cleaned (mold and grime under the shower bench, wrappers and trash behind the beds, etc.), the shower toiletries were not filled or empty upon arrival and after 3 days, our rooms were never once attended to by housekeeping. The bedding was very thin and the pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The handicap shower was not handicap friendly at all. Food service was non existent and a couple staff members were extremely rude. If you are planning a family trip to Hershey, I would highly suggest you stay somewhere else. read more

The hotel was great, but The Bistro pricing is outrageous. And the fact that the buffet is the only option is ridiculous. For six people to have a mediocre breakfast buffet costing close to $100 is insane. So now instead of enjoying a nice morning eating in our room, we have to go out and find someplace that has food for normal, reasonable pricing. We purposely stay at Marriott for their reputation for accommodations and amenities. This is going to have us reconsider other options in the future. The front desk is no picnic either. My kids got tiny little snacks when we arrived, and four snacks was $15. Very disappointing. read more

Was just okay. Stayed here overnight on October 18, 2018 before the Hershey Half Marathon. Per-night rate was exorbitantly high based on that weekend ($250 per night), not because the hotel is particularly luxurious, but because they know people are willing to pay more to be guaranteed a place to stay. When we arrived in our room, we noticed it was recently updated and remodeled, something I can certainly appreciate. However, the bathroom floor had what looked like a sticky residue on the floor (along with a few hairs of questionable origin). We called the front desk to report it, who sent up a cleaning staff member. She scrubbed the floor but mentioned, "most rooms have this same issue. Sorry." Other than a sketchy-looking bathroom floor and the incredibly high price, it was a fine place to stay overnight. I don't think the experience warranted the price we paid, but again, that's not a reflection of the quality of the lodging--just a way to capitalize on the demand for that particular night. I only wish for what I paid it would have been a better experience. read more

Very clean and up to date hotel. Friendly, helpful staff.. Only minor complaint is the inconsistent temperature, hallways and room were cold.. had to crank up the thermostat in our room. We have been a member of Marriott for years, although I understand that isn't an impressive opening. Our son plays college baseball and we usually go to Marriott or Holiday Inn depending where the team is staying from NJ, PA FL to CA. Because of the rain this weekend we had a last minute rainout and tried to cancel the room or at least give us credit to use the room later this year. We couldn't have been treated ruder. After numerous calls we were out of luck for our $207.00. I understand you have a policy, but you should have a human touch in your policies and give us credit for another night. One of the nicest Courtyards I have stayed at by far! Less than 10 minutes from Hersheypark, it is ideal for families and even business travelers. Guestrooms are clean and modern with mini fridge, flat screen tv and plenty of USB ports. The spacious bathroom with glass walk-in shower is a great touch. I wish I was able to stay longer to enjoy the indoor pool and other amenities! I definitely plan on staying here the next time I am in the area. read more

Great, modern hotel. It is in a good location in town not far from anything. There are modern amenities like USB ports, flatscreen TVs and really sleek rooms. The staff is very friendly. And they have a bistro if you need to have a beer or wine. I whole heartedly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area. While I was here for business travel I would imagine that it is kid friendly as well since Hersheypark is less than a mile away. read more

Great hotel, but check your bill. The hotel facility is brand new and very nice. The billing situation was completely screwed up. Near as I can tell, Marriott has been playing with roughly $853 of my money for a one night stay in a regular room. I did the "pre-pay option" to obtain a lower rate of $202. Upon arrival, the desk clerk told me my rate would be $325 and the $202 was "only a deposit". When I checked out the next morning, it took over 15 minutes to process and then my card was changed AGAIN. I was going to be staying here for business, but now, my team will be staying at one of the Hilton properties. Sorry Marriott, I tried to give you my business. Just because this hotel is better than the general area doesn't make it good. read more

terrible customer service from beginning to end. At the end of a long and hot day at Hershey Park last weekend, we were checked in by Courtney with an attitude. We were visiting with another family and decided to do take out for dinner. We were rudely told by Courtney and 2 other staff members that no outside food permitted on premise of hotel. We were told we could eat it in our hotel room. That is hard to do when there is more than 1 family gathering together. Also, no signs in lobby (or anywhere) that advised of that policy. We ended up eating together outside. Luckily it was nice weather outside. rooms are clean. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and have been for years. I choose to stay only at Marriott hotels because I prefer top notch customer service while away from home. Unfortunately, this Courtyard, didn't rate compared to other Marriott locations especially for $300 plus a night! Ill stay at Hotel Hershey or Hershey Lodge next visit! read more

Love the Room set up as the bed faces the window (usually adjacent) but this gives a more spacious feel. The sofa bed is a cute single couch that opens up onto a twin bed so not ideal for an adult but perfect for a kid. There was no directory in the room so that makes it challenging to decide on what to order for room service. Free wifi (not for streaming - you'll have to pay if you want to hook up your fire stick) but they have plenty of free cable channels including hbo and have an option to sign in to your Netflix. Super short drive to Hershey Park and golf course across the street from the hotel parking lot if you'd like to play. I recommend eating breakfast outside the hotel for more options like at the Pantry down the block. Hotel should consider more variety on their menu. Man at the bistro wasn't too helpful. Overall good stay. Room was impeccably clean and bathroom is beautiful. The shower door only covers half of the shower area and a lot of water spills out on to the floor. You'll have to request more towels as we used 3 just to lay it on the floor and soak it up while we showered. There's a no pet policy and seems that way with all the PA hotels we looked into so keep the dog at home. read more

Families looking to book a "deal" at Courtyard Marriott Hershey, BEWARE!!! I booked a reservation for my daughter's seventh birthday (her birthday was mid-August and the reservation was booked three weeks prior) thinking it was just that -- a "deal." I had looked at a room rate and individual tickets at Hershey park and thought it best to book altogether through Marriott. What I didn't realize was that Marriott gets DISCOUNTED park rates and then JACKS UP THE ROOM RATE to compensate!!! I could have booked a $200 room (or less, in fact) and bought the tickets on Hershey's website. Instead, I ended up paying almost $400 for the room. I took this issue to corporate, who then passed it to the "executive team at the hotel." I received an email from Samantha Bergantine who tried to "provide some clarity" that my room was only $309 for the night! Even if this were the case, this rate is exponentially more than I would have paid by booking just a room (I originally considered this option and saw rooms for approximately $200) and buying tickets through Hershey Park. They chalked in up to a "teachable moment" and offered absolutely nothing else, even though I have spent over 15 nights in Courtyard Marriotts in the last four years. Be advised that this location GOUGES unsuspecting families and their corporate office has no recourse. The Marriott corporation has lost the business of me, my entire family, my friends, and hopefully all those who will read this review. There are plenty of other options in the area (and they have transportation to and from the park, which CM doesn't offer). Find an alternative and save your hard earned money. read more
