CUSTOMER BEWARE! @MARRIOTT, HELP!! Hotel is undergoing renovations! We weren't told about renovations during booking, and the renovation information was not on the website!!!! *I called the front desk prior to arrival to secure the room I booked, but when I asked to speak with a manager about the renovations, none were available. *Upon arrival I checked into the room I secured earlier via phone call, but the room was occupied. Items from the room occupants were all over the room, and trash cans were overflowing with trash, and beds were nasty. *Front desk gave us a second room (not the room type I reserved), but the electrical outlets were inoperable, the shower leaked a lot of water all over the floor, the room was missing towels, and when I exited the shower I slipped and fell!!!!! *We didn't get any sleep even after calling the front desk with noise complaints, because of the dogs barking in neighboring rooms and parties in the hallway. *We had to exchange the stale muffin we purchased à la carte, for a fresh Breakfast item. *Front desk promised us hotel management would contact us about the issues, but nearly 2 weeks later and we haven't heard anything. Disappointing Stay - Not What You'd Expect from Marriott Spent the weekend here with my husband and had a terrible experience. As a Titanium Elite member, I expect better service and communication. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking--especially from the manager, Alex, who was dismissive and unprofessional. We were wrongly charged for items we didn't use, and the staff was accusatory instead of helpful. No recognition of our elite status, no follow-up from management, and no courtesy throughout our stay. I've stayed here a couple times in December and out of necessity again the week of Jan 5th 2026. The hotel is Very Run Down. Hallways and rooms are beat up. Bed mattresses are old and run to the center. Ants in my room this week. The front desk person had to step away to clean and prepare my room when I checked in on Monday. This property is more like a Red Roof Inn (bad) than a Marriott. Marriott doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. Don't stay here if you are expecting past Marriott standards. read more

Wow! Where to begin... This place is a hot mess. The portico at the entrance was falling down, perhaps instigated by a oversized vehicle. There was only one hostess working the counter (she was polite, though). Our room was next to a loud, drunken party. We asked for another room, only to get one with a busted up desk, cracked shower stall, missing refrigerator, and a missing smoke detecter. Plus, the ice maker wasn't working. Our third room option was passable, but I had to move the desk to plug in the TV. Really? The pool water-level was down a couple feet and had the creamy pallor of Mountain Dew, and there is only one, sad looking elevator for the whole building. My advise?... try elsewhere. read more

Found my way to Yelp! to write a review and surprised to see the low and poor reviews. Just spent 3 nights here around NYE 2023, and very pleased. Great experience, consultant Anna was very informative, pleasant and accommodating at the front desk when checking in...I appreciate being noticed as an Elite Marriott Bonvoy member and she did not disappoint. As far as the location, the front entrance and portico is not falling down, not damaged, and seemed to have fresh paint. The parking lot seems very safe. This hotel is close to interstate, off a main drag, across the street from Whole Foods Market but nestled behind a few buildings and tucked in a corner, the best word to describe the location is secluded. The inside of the hotel was very clean! Updated and in great shape. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Pool was closed but it was winter and very cold when I was there so it didn't seem strange...I did glance in the pool area, there was water in the pool, clean, and nothing seemed out of ordinary. While I was there, during the day between 0900 -1700, they were doing maintenance and deep cleaning throughout the hotel. Another nice addition at this location is the balconies off rooms on the second and third floors, and lanais on the first deck. I will stay here again when visiting the area, and not think twice about it. read more

In spite of renovation work, this hotel is not what it used to be. We stayed here 4 1/2 years ago when we were looking to buy in the area. It was comfortable even if it was a bit outdated. But this trip we have been greeted with locked doors, probably for safety reasons due to less staff is my guess. We learned both the bistro and pool are closed for renovation but no where is that information given prior to booking. The hallway to our room smelled like a wet dishrag. We entered our hotel room to a wee bit better smell though it was still musty smelling too. The TV is now so small that it can't really seen from the bed and it's secured down so tightly that it can't be moved much. The bed is much softer than most hotels we stay in these days. All in all, we are very disappointed. We used to consider this place home away from home but next trip, we will be looking for another place to stay. read more

Do not stay here. We only stayed here because it was blocked off for our sport tournament weekend. They shut the pool down because they didn't want all of the kids from the tournament swimming. They said if anyone is loud in the hotel after 10:00pm there would be a fine up to $1000. What?! Broken elevators, broken glass from a car window in the parking lot... read more

We asked for extra pillows, we were told that they would not be brought to us that we would have to come to the desk and get them ourselves. We could not utilize the pool because the pool phone was broken. Pool was fine. All around an unpleasant visit. Only giving one star because I have to. read more

don't waste your time or money. this place is terrible. The bistro is rarely open and doesn't have anything on their menu and is over priced. The rooms are clean. However, there are no microwaves. The phone doesn't work and there is not a do not disturb sign. Also without warning they've tested the fire alarm six times so far. overall horrible experience. read more

The location was good, close to a lot of great restaurants and things to do. They have a great bistro, good strong wifi and good amenities (gym, heated lap pool, tv channel selections) that probably was the only thing keeping this from being 2 stars. I was on the bottom floor and needed ice, which bottom floor's ice was broken. I went to 2nd floor and my ice had lots of black specks in it. Next time, went to 3rd floor, and it was less specks but still there. Please clean this up before you get someone sick. read more

This hotel touted itself as recently remodeled, but it was just barely remodeled. The lobby is great (typical), but that is as far as the remodel went, really. They updated the furniture in the rooms, but the bathrooms were VERY outdated. I had a balcony, which I thought would be nice. The door was extremely sticky, and I had to use so much force to open the door, I thought I would break something. Then I got out there and there were cigarette ashes all over the balcony. It also was right above the venting system and A/C units for the lobby area, so it was SO LOUD. I could not relax out there. The room was clean enough, but it was just so incredibly outdated. The walls, lighting, everything had this yellow, dingy feel to it. It honestly felt depressing. We checked out after about half an hour, without even sitting on the beds, and moved to the SpringHill Suites nearby. I am SO GLAD we did that. read more

You can see that the hotel is being remodeled BUT the rooms smell moldy. The hallways smells the same. When I questioned to be moved to an updated room. They said that they don't have any done but moved us to another room. We went to dinner and came back to notice they had come in and sprayed the room while we were gone. Amazing place to stay!!! The room was pretty incredible, and the services provided were great. The Bistro was the best part! They serve amazing food (that was prepared upon ordering) and they serve Starbucks coffee!! I personally was served by a sweet, personable female barista..who was fantastic! Nice looking place when you arrive, but terrible hospitality. My stay included a "complimentary breakfast" so I ordered the egg white frittata--trying to eat healthy. I was told I could only order a breakfast sandwich for the "complimentary breakfast", so I just asked for a discount on the frittata, to which he replied, NO! Not I'm sorry, not let me check. I stayed here for the first time in November 2011 while attending the Renaissance Festival in Huntersville. It was perfect for us. Our room was pretty basic, didn't even have a mini fridge, but it was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable, and if I remember correctly there was free wi-fi. I loved the lobby; it had a big sitting area that was sunny and inviting in the morning. We sat in a cozy booth that had its own little TV in the wall and sipped complimentary coffee while perusing the newspaper. They have a lunch counter that sells sandwiches, muffins, etc., but they charge hotel prices ($11 for a cheeseburger). Don't worry about dining options, though; the hotel is conveniently situated among several restaurants. On Saturday night we walked to the Kabuto Japanese restaurant next door, and on Sunday we walked to the Bob Evans for breakfast. We loved this hotel for a comfortable place to crash after attending a special event without having to drive a long way for meals. We plan on staying there again for the Rural Hill Scottish Festival in April, and yet again in the Fall for the Renaissance Festival. read more

Very clean hotel, great staff and they have a bar! Yay! The bed was comfy and food looked good, although I did have any :). The reason for my 5 stars is actually given for what they did AFTER I checked out. So, I typically check into a hotel and iron all of my stuff and hang it up so that I'm not frazzled in the morning (not a morning person) and I just want everything all set. (I travel for business.) On the morning that I checked out, I was really hustlin', as I had an early flight home (and was excited to go home!). In my rushing, I must have left clothes in the closet hanging up (such a rookie move). Anyway, that evening, I got an email from Taylor at the front desk asking if I was still in town or if I'd like them to fedex my clothes to me! I emailed back, asked her to call (didn't want to give cc info over email...you know how that can get weird). She called a few hours later and set up the shipping to my house in MA. I am so impressed with the attention to detail. Being on the road so often, you hear horror stories about people leaving stuff, calling the hotel, and it's "nowhere to be found". I am so happy they were proactive and reached out to me! Kudos to you guys, thank you! read more

A convenient hotel right off I-77 makes this a good place on location alone. However, the outdated rooms are badly in need of a refresh up to current Courtyard standards. The lobby is updated enough. That said, the rooms were clean and comfortable enough for a work week. With the Birkdale Commons just down the street the location is pretty ideal. 3 stars for the adequate stay and location. read more

As the few (two total) reviews say, this hotel is conveniently placed near major roads and shopping/dining area. Why would I place a 2 star on this you ask? To start, there is NO SIGN to say where to turn in. You have to turn into a BB&T parking lot to get there. The rooms are very outdated and though they look clean from the overall picture, our room was dusty and nothing that was a stand out. The "bistro" is a cool concept at first but when your day is starting early, they don't have it opened. From the looks of it, the pricing is high and not worth it. Sure, they offer "Starbucks" coffee and drinks but there is a REAL starbucks 2 minutes up the road. Hungry...take your pick...walk to Bob Evans, 1 minute drive to ihop, or 1 min 30 second to Bojangles. Management/service. When first checking in, I would not say service was a stand out. It was more like get you key and bye. When I asked about coffee in the AM, they have a simple answer on the time it was going to open...not "oh, were you needing a cup? Perhaps I could brew you some"...would have gladly paid. The real reason I am writing this review is because I formerly worked for a marriott for a high school part time job. It was a resort/spa setting not your typical hotel but, I know what the marriott values & beliefs are. If I was a Marriott DM (District Manager) I would seriously rethink the staffing or this set up in general. I have always viewed marriotts to be some of the best hotels to stay at for the money and service. After this stay, I will be rethinking this. If you are reading this, all I say is look into your options and just know that you may not get the best of service from what you can "see". read more
