Whenever I'm in Killeen Texas for business I always stay here. It's a nice hotel. It has a little restaurant and a bar and the rooms are very nice and clean. The AC works just fine which I love and the people here are very nice clean may not be the best area lol to be around but this hotel is nice. It's right next to the mall and it has a bunch of restaurants and a walking distance, not too far from the airport and not too far from the military base. read more

Front desk staff was amazing. Clean lobby, fast elevators. I didn't appreciate the coffee maker being homed in the restroom (GROSS)! We were in room 224 and it faced the highway. It made for a very long night for me, I'm a light sleeper. I also kept hearing little feet pidder padder on the level above. The bed was comfortable so I guess that should be included. Breakfast is expensive there... no free breakfast! $72 for a couple of plates of food and cup of fruit. Also, pool is being replastered so no swimming for a while. read more

ONE washer and ONE dryer = ONE star. Tried to do laundry during my two week stay. Some lazy POS left his clothes in the washer, forcing me to remove his clothes and stack them on the SINGLE dryer. He also waited to start drying his clothes in the SINGLE dryer about a minute before I came down to use the dryer, forcing me to wait another 45 minutes to do my clothes. Then right as the dryer timer ended, at 1:30 in the morning, he decided that his precious little blue jeans weren't dry enough. So he says "Sorry Boss. I got to dry them one more time." He's lucky that I've changed my ways in my old age, otherwise he would've had some vitamin P added to his clothes to freshen them up. I ended up having to spread my clothes around the room and letting them air dry like a homeless dude. What kind of hotel has a single washer and dryer to serve over 300 rooms? read more

I've stayed at this hotel before but never did a review. This is nicer than most Courtyard hotels with a very large lobby, bar and restaurant area. I was immediately greeted and taken care of my James. He is a great representative for the hotel and I hope he is commended for his excellent customer service. I was surprised that the rooms were so expensive but I guess with the military base nearby there are a lot of military families who stay here so the hotel was quite full. Each room does have a fridge, microwave and coffee marker. Beds are comfy, large desk area and a good amount of electrical and usb outlets for all your gadgets. read more

Will start with, front desk staff is polite. No negative thoughts there... moving on... booked online so when we pulled up we were immediately worried. Outside is old and shabby (positive is there is a Panera right next to it), and parking lot is small amd sketchy. The lobby at least looks like it's been renovated so was nice and didn't match the exterior. The elevators are small, old, and dirty with no ventilation. Hallways with poor lighting amd in need of new carpet. Our room was decent. That's it. No MAJOR issues but room amd bathroom definitely need some deep cleaning. Feels very "barely clean." Thankfull I travel with all my own disinfectant products otherwise wouldn't have stayed. Walls are thin so can hear everything going on every where. Our room window faced and inside wall that had mold on it so quite the view lol. Thankfully, we like our room dark in the mornings but the flip side is the room was dark all day. There is a decent 24 hour fitness center and an overpriced hotel bar on the 1st level. Overall, I give the place an eh. I wouldn't voluntarily stay here again. Definitely wouldn't pay more than 130.00/night. And that's pushing it considering they don't even have breakfast included. read more

The lobby looked, smelled great but our room was not great. It felt humid and sticky the whole stay. Our room stunk like old nasty nursing home. Our socks were black from the dirty carpet. The phone didn't work. The toilet stopped working had to call from cel phone to front dest to request maintenance. Mold in the shower. The room just felt nasty and gross. My hanging clothes were damp the next morning from the humidity in the room, yuck!! We traveled far through bad storms, we had no other choice but to stick it out. The thing about Courtyard Marriotts is that they are not all the same. I've stayed in some very nice Courtyards, and I've also suffered through a few dumpy Courtyards in my travels. This one in Killeen, Texas is above average in my opinion, and thus I'll bump it up to a 4-star stay. When I first entered my room I noticed that new carpet smell (you can still detect the seaming glue as if it were laid just recently)--updated carpet is always a welcome hotel room feature. The room is spacious and lends itself nicely to getting some computer work done, though the internet was struggling to keep up with my email sending and receiving. The bed was a bit more firm than I prefer, but still it was better than your average hotel mega-chain bed. Finally, I am always grateful to see the Marriott chain's individually wrapped Paul Mitchell toiletries--I am definitely NOT a fan of the wall mounted body-wash/shampoo/conditioner dispensers that many of the large mid-level hotel chains are going to these days. One oddity to report--when the tenant in the room above mine was showering at 4:30 this morning, apparently because of how the drain lines are connected, it sounded like someone was getting clean in MY shower as the water gurgling down the drain was loud and clear. Don't worry, I got up to make sure I was still alone in my guest room. Whew! All in all, on my next trip to Killeen I will certainly give this Courtyard another stay. read more

Service is polite but seemed inexperienced. Asked for extra luggage rack and they didn't know what it was. Don't stay in room facing the freeway. Traffic noise will keep you up! We had no choice as all rooms with 2 queen beds face the freeway. Elevators are rundown and smelly. Worst part is dispute I have being charged for extra room I didn't use. Front desk informed manager of my billing question and I never heard from her. Maria Karsky is the manager and she never even responded to the 2 follow-up emails I sent. Really poor customer service. I've stayed in this hotel over 30 times and have had very good stays. This stay was disappointing. Found a roach in the room and informed the front desk to have the room vacuumed and cleaned. When I returned in the evening, found the cockroach in the room. Had to get rid of it myself. Disgusting!!! Not what I expected from this hotel. The only reason that charge for parking is to get more money (fraudulently) without having to advertise a higher price. There's no reason for this. Choosing a hotel to stay at to see my first grand baby born and my son who serve in the Army at Ft. Hood. The Marriott has a respectable name in the industry as far as class and standards. This does not go for the one in Killeen, TX. Reset any expectations you may have for this flag when you choose(I strongly suggest you don't) this one. The accommodations are standard but the people and service do not even reach passable. Immediately upon check in to my room (428) there was a foul musty smell and my son came in behind me (whom I came here to see that is in the Army and accustomed to things we are not) without promt nor question said there's a something wrong w this room. Front desk response was "I can see if I can have housekeeping come up there". Well excuse me for asking to move Mt. Everest on this persons watch! I asked for a air cleaner and to no avail- they loaned the last one out... Then I had to extend by a day and that was the challenge of a lifetime. I have been through 13 countries and have dealt with challenging scenarios but none like dealing with the front desk here... As I was trying to arrange this feat I had to deal with a lady that made me feel like I was watching the tryouts to a part in a Kung Fu movie or episode of Kung Fu Theatre with all her hand gestures as she explained to me it's because of Expedia that she couldn't help me! So I called Expedia and they said the hotel would not do it when they called them. So someone is lying... so I paid for a complete different reservation at $180 instead of $111 a night. Well can I get a better room? NO we are busy and other rooms are not clean yet. Well speaking of cleaning. I woke up this morning with the feeling I wasn't alone and trying to shake the remnants of a dream that there was someone breathing on back my neck and playing footsies with me -turns out I wasn't far from wrong.. there was a king size cockroach laying next to my bed!! Heck I got up and fixed the dang thing coffee so I could keep it busy as I call front desk then the A-Team to come up with a plan of rescue! Front desk response "It'll be okay. We will deal w it WHEN YOU CHECK OUT" This dang thing owes half my rate! Another year here in Killeen for another major exercise. We love the Marriott Courtyard and couldn't be happier. My last review, last year, I gave 5 Stars however, I have to drop it down one star this year to just 4 Stars. I arrived early and luckily my room was ready. I asked the front desk if this was a quiet room as she put me on the first floor and I will be working Nights and having to sleep during the day. She reassured me it was in the quiet section of the hotel. OK... well it may be away from traffic however, the Service elevator is across the hall, the backup generator is outside my window and the room must be above an exit in the basement were the staff slams the door every time they come in and out of it. Needless to say, this is one of the loudest rooms I have ever been in and I travel 200+ days a year. STAY AWAY FROM THE FIRST FLOOR ESPECIALLY ROOM 130-110 (Rm30). The Bistro staff are very friendly but VERY SLOW and they also mixed up my Breakfast 3 days in a row. REALLY!!! You give me a number for my order... the number is on the receipt, LOOK AT THE RECEIPT before you bring out the order!!! I'm still a fan of the Marriott Courtyard but the little complaints will add up over time. read more

In town on business. This establishment is very clean and the mood When you walk in the door is very calm.The rooms are very nice, although I think the water is set to one temp. When turned so the way to hot the water is just warm. Your room is cleaned everyday unless you request green clean. There are multiple choices if you want to eat. If you want to get your food, you should pre-order, or come downstairs early. They offer starbucks products. This is a nice place and the staff is very receptive and understanding. Made a reservation. They couldn't give us the room we reserved in advance with 2 beds because they didn't clean the room! Got a pull out couch that was springs, paper mattress, see thru blanket. THEN they charged us $30 more than the original rate AND PARKING! What kind of highway hotel charges for parking?? Oh, and the elevator was broken too. We are on the 5th floor. WiFi is free because it's slooooow and unsafe according to all antivirus programs. And you don't get the free breakfast they advertise either. Will find another hotel for tomorrow night. I bet they double charged my credit card too. Final note - masks are REQUIRED in Texas and yet they aren't requiring guests to wear them. STAY AWAY! read more

Over the past two and a half years I have stayed at this Courtyard at least 40 nights. I have never had any issues. The rooms I have stayed in have always been clean, the staff has aways displayed great customer service and when open I have never had any issues at the Bistro. Recently I stayed here for two weeks for a business trip. The front desk staff is always amazing and helpful. They do what they can to help you and answer your questions. Every time you leave and come back they will always bid you farewell and welcome you back. If you have specific preferences to which room you want they'll do their best to accommodate your wants and needs. However, some of the other staff are not as amazing. Every morning the lady that works at the bistro for breakfast is constantly grumpy and gives you a bit of attitude. She even blatantly bullies her younger coworker, which might I add is very sweet and polite. There is a way to teach and give feedback to your peers, but the way she does it is just bullying and talking down to her. She's not even the worse of it. The associate that works for dinner at the bistro is 1000 times worse! She rolls her eyes at you, sucks get teeth at you gives you nasty attitude, no manners at all, when you go up to the bar and wait for her attention she rolls her eyes and says "whatchu want?". Her body language is very negative as well. She talks down to you, very unprofessional and generally you just get the vibe that she doesn't want to be there or help anyone. Why would you work in hospitality if you don't want to provide customer service. She needs to be fired before she even got the job. I didn't try the lunch and dinner meals but I was able to have their breakfast. Overall, it was okay. The ciabatta bread was impossible to bite into. The frittata wasn't to my liking. Salsa in the morning was too weird for me and the avocado was not ripe at all. The only decent item was their morning starter sandwich. But even then it got old and the turkey was too salty. Apparently during the end of Nov beginning of Dec the lady bugs like to sneak into the hotel room through the window. Needless to say I had to switch rooms because of the horde of lady bugs that snuck in for the warmth. Giving 3 stars strictly for the front desk ladies. read more

Most terrible experience ever on my reservations for high school reunion last weekend. I made reservations 6 weeks ago for a room with double beds as I was sharing room, when I got there they said they had to make changes without contacting me or consulting me. They refused to offer monetary compensation for their problem as hotel overbooked last weekend. I had to sleep on sofa and when I asked to speak to manager on duty at 4pm Friday when I was checking in for our 2 day event held there I was told Mgr. Diana Garcia had already left and would not be back until Monday next week. What hotel holds a 2 night reunion event and makes a mess if it included the many screwed up room changes without consulting or compensation along with wedding held there with no on duty manager etc. I suggest Best Western over Marriott and I'm a reward member. Hotel has extreme cancellation policy, even though reservation was cancelled the day prior, and was unwilling to bend or compromise. I travel a lot, principally with Hilton but have been staying at Marriott properties more frequently this year. This experience definitely leads me to question that decision but regardless I will never stay at this hotel at any point in the future. Courtyard Marriott lost any potential future business and revenue from someone who is on the road 130-150 nights per year. Front desk guy was nice and polite but decision was not his. read more

UPDATE: Spoke too soon. I am sad to say Charminique Ray, Front Desk Manager screwed up and, instead of reimbursing my account $28.31, she fraudulently charged my account $28.31. The total fraudulent charges amount to $56.62 now. Do not! Do not trust the Management Team at this Courtyard. I have complained to Marriott Corporation about the situation. As I am deployed, I am unable to personally visit Ms Ray. UPDATE: I wrote to the Marriott Corporation and they interviened on my behalf. I am happy to say I was reimbursed the amount I was incorrectly charged. However, I shouldn't have had to write the Marriott Corporation, the Management at this location should have taken care of it themselves. As a result I will adjust the stars to three. However, I caution you to beware of what the Management staff at this particular location promise to do. My wife had come to Ft Hood to see me before I left for deployment. We spent the evening of April 22nd at the Courtyard by Marriott in Killeen Texas. I went down to the bar during happy hour to get a couple of glasses of wine. I put the drinks on my debit card and headed back to our room. When I got back to the room I realized I had been charged the regular price for the wine. I went back down to the bar to get the charge recitfird. The bartender recharged my card with the correct price and told me the other charge would "fall off". I asked him if I could speak to a manager. He brought a gentleman over who explained that the charge would fall off. The bartender reiterated he would make sure the restaurant/bar manager was made aware of what happened. The charge did not fall off. I called the first time April 30th and several times thereafter and spoke to Janna at the front desk. I explained the situation in full a couple of times to her. By the third call she knew who I was and what my call was about. I asked to speak to a manager but most of the time the manager was in a meeting. I finally was able to connect with the manager, Charminique Ray. Charminique gave me her work email address and asked me to mail her proof that the charge went through. I sent her the two receipts and a screen shot of my checking account showing both charges on May 9th. She did not get back with me. I made a follow-up call the following week but Charminique was in a meeting. The issue is still unresolved. My advice is to check out the Holiday Inn Express when in Kileen. I would avoid the poor customer service (and over priced drinks) at the Courtyard! read more

I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here--- this is a decent hotel. For 80 bucks a night, it can't get any better. And for room rate (88 bucks) + $5 can get you a breakfast with a starbucks coffee which includes frappes and lattes. And the breakfast is not continental, it is made to order from the menu and it was pretty good actually. I ordered the egg whites, turkey, cheese & spinach on english muffin with fresh OJ and later ordered caramel frap. As all the hotels, they have free wi-fi and their pantry is stocked pretty good. The hotel was very clean and it has that new hotel feeling to it. The staff was very warm, welcoming and helpful -- they made some awesome restaurant recommendation while I stayed here. They had some construction going on in the front parking lot but they have plenty of parking in rear as well. What impressed me the most was lobby of this hotel--it was very spacious, modern with a particle design. They also have restaurant in this hotel which has outside seating which is also right next to the hotel bar so you get best of both worlds. If I am back in this area (only would return for work), I would stay here again. read more

Absolutely atrocious employees. From the minute we walked in, people were not friendly and had a bad attitude. Then, after a mix up and being lied to by the manager, and things getting resolved, her attitude was horrid. While I was disrespected and treated poorly, others were asked about points and stuff, etc. It was pathetic. To the point, had it not got resolved we had decided to drive 2 hours to Dallas, just to get away from this area and the people. No one walking around has been friendly and everyone working here looks pissed. Absolutely do not recommend. And I like Marriotts. Not this one tho. read more

The only con which I can't fairly complain here bc I was too lazy to call the front desk and request a room change - but if you stay on the first floor make sure your room isn't on the other side of the lobby! our room was quiet, but there was no natural light. our window awkwardly looked out into the back wall of the lobby. So at all hours the lack of natural light or view to the outdoors was totally disorienting! I should've taken a photo to better prove my point, but if you end up with a room like ours you'll totally understand! Overall though it's the nicest hotel in Killeen and I would absolutely stay here again! just request a different room ;) read more

Worst experience first. The "bistro" clerk/waitress clearly does not want to work here. Just about every word that came out of her mouth was said with frustration, and her overall attitude was crap. Sucking her teeth and acting as if it were almost painful to have to take our order. Never mind the attitude she gave when asking her to bring out the food we actually ordered as opposed to what she brought out. Just hands down horrible customer service and not what I expected from this hotel chain. Eat elsewhere. The front desk lady was great upon checking and the room was fine. Arrived at night after long driving & was never told what time breakfast was & thinking it ended at 10am we went at 9:35 and was told it ended at 9:30. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They put this rating to a four star. The room was clean and comfortable. The bath plumbing was superb, with instant hot water at sink and shower. Shower design was ergonomic and roomy. Restaurant facilities were basic and adequate, but the staff again was friendly and willing to go out of their way to be helpful. read more
