Decided to book a night here to break up our trip down south because we got a good rate. It's right off the freeway but you don't hear any noise from it. Hannah checked us in and she was so sweet, personable and professional. She made us feel welcomed by asking and calling us our name. She had such a great and fun energy when we walked in. Always had very good experience with the Courtyard by Marriott brand but ironically you can pay less at the Fairfield Inn with same quality plus free breakfast. Not sure if I understand the logic behind the $15.00 daily parking fee because this hotel is pretty far from downtown. There's no on premise EV Charging but there's ample Tesla charging station about 2 miles away behind Target. The room, weas clean and everything in working order. The pull out sofa was comfy and aligned perfectly with the TV. The pillows were a bit flat and the bed was firm; just perfect for my back. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Parking is very limited on premise. They didn't charge for the $15 per day parking due to this but this is subject to change. The room my family and I stayed in was very cleaned and appeared to be one of those newly renovated. So we appreciate the cleanliness and the newly decor in the bathroom. The hotel staff was so friendly and professional. I had only 2 suggestions for the management. It was dark at the entrance. We arrived at night and wished if a light was added for safety. In the morning, there was an odor like an oriental market, which we couldn't tell from where. Other than that, Bistro Cafe was delicious. We had a great stay. Room was nice and very clean. Air conditioner unit was a bit loud so we slept with the window open. Breakfast downstairs was com d is t and delicious. Had the best experience and time at this Marriott location! I was in town for the weekend visiting a friend and had a unique request ( a framed picture of Alfonso Ribeiro doing The Carlton dance). Pros: Beautiful, quiet, spotless, lovely hotel with stunning pool & hot tub, gorgeous comfortable rooms, peaceful fire pit in the evening, and truly outstanding staff. Feels like it's out in the countryside but only minutes to all services & central SLO. (Only con: Wish Marriott didn't charge for daily parking. I canceled a reservation for this hotel a within ten minutes after making the reservation but was still charged for the room because the reservation was made the day before (hotel has a 48 hour cancellation policy). Another Marriott Hotel was booked in the area instead because more convenient. When I canceled the reservation online I did not receive a notification that I would be charged. I am a Platinum Elite Member so have done quite a bit of business with Marriott over the years. I contacted the Platinum customer service line to see if I could get the amount refunded but was told that the hotel declined to provide a refund. I understand they have the right to charge me, but this has me frustrated since I canceled the reservation so quickly after making it. I don't suspect they lost any business in the short time I canceled after making the reservation. Maybe Marriott customer service is changing and not for the better! read more

First time at this property. One of the nicer Courtyards that I have stayed at. Be aware they are presently doing renovations, so the parking lot is cluttered, but free parking. I had a newly renovated room. Very nice. Microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Workdesk and closet. Bathroom is modern, but would rather have walk in shower over the tub shower combo. No free breakfast. I ate at the bar/restaurant one night and it was good. Good location, 5 minutes from downtown SLO. read more

First off, anybody who wants to give less than 5 stars to this establishment, get a life and off your entitled horse. You are not entitled and are no better than anyone here and actually, not even as good or even close. This hotel has very nice rooms but the most important thing to me is the staff. I am bad with names so please forgive me. I had a conversation with Ailsa (Assistant General Manager) and my gosh what a wonderful individual. So kind, so gracious, and all about top notch customer service and meeting the customers needs. She goes above and beyond. The rest of the staff was also amazing. Not one bad experience throughout my stay. Every single person I met was top notch and beyond amazing and all of them go above and beyond. So for those of you who did give 5 stars, hats off to you because you are not entitled and recognize a wonderful place and staff which is virtually nonexistent these days just about everywhere. For those who rated below 5 stars what do you want, a red carpet with rose petals and strawberries upon entry? You don't ever give anyone 5 stars in hopes of what? a free juice for your troubles? Expecting the room to be filled with rose petals and champagne not to mention, you want to be sucked up to? Oh please, get a life as you clearly don't have one. Came up for a couple nights for last minute reservation and trip. The hotel staff was excellent and very polite and friendly. They were out of the suites so we got a room with a double queen bed and it was much more roomy than we expected. It was very clean and well equipped. At check in they said there was construction for the room remodels that were starting but I never heard anything. It was a great stay overall. read more

Had another chance to stay at this courtyard with a trip from SoCal to NorCal. Booked it last minute and got in around midnight. So since only doing a quick sleepover and back on road can only mention a few thing The night staff was very helpful and supporting for a quick check in. The room was very comforting after a long holiday traffic drive. Clean , well stocked and for me at a temperate which was good ( basically not too hot as I could sleep in a frig. as I like it cold ) . Really like using this Marriott especially for my quick stop overs , I have found the price is not beatable. Only slight negative point and this goes for many Marriott, cost of parking. I really don't mind parking fee, but at a courtyard that has uncovered , not secured parking at 15/night, seems steep. Never any problems with parking just the principal that you pay to stay But please enjoy this hotel , worth a stay if in SLO and looking for a hotel read more

Stayed for one night with another couple. The lobby was clean and modern and let us watch Premier League soccer on Sunday morning. They have a Starbucks in the lobby so that was a nice surprise (this location doesn't take the app so bring your cash or card). The beds were comfy and the bathroom was just big enough. The views were nice and it was nice to be in a slightly secluded area just south of SLO. read more

We have stayed at this property several times over the years. This last stay has told us to move on to a new property. Without even getting into being charged for parking in an open lot there was a much greater issue we experienced. When I got out of bed the first morning I was greeted by a tick crawling out from under the covers. I addressed this with the person on duty and was assured that the manager would contact me. Later that day I was contacted by a lady who said she was the manager. She apologized for the incident and said that she would be replacing my Marriott points to my account for the incident. As of yet this has not happened and in trying to contact Marriott directly I have yet to hear back. As a Marriott member with lifetime elite status I am truly saddened by the properties lack of response. It tells me they just do not care about the customer regardless of status. read more

The views all around were pretty nice. Front desk were friendly. The pool area was ok, the water looked cloudy. Our key cards didn't want to work on any of the doors by the pool to get back in.. we had them re-keyed after we got inside. The bartender saw us knocking and let us back in the hotel. The dining room breakfast area had horribly sticky floors and unwiped tables. There are a few breakfast offerings and breakfast was ok. The lobby has ice water but no coffee.. there are coffee pots in the room though. I like that there is a decent working refrigerator in the room. The T.V. worked great.. nice size too. The bathroom is not my favorite style because it's all-in-one with shower, sinks, toilet all in one room. Rooms were clean. Bed was super mushy and uncomfortable Front desk was able to give us a late check-out and I appreciate that! ** Note: we saw a woman in the elevator with a few schnauzers. This is a NO pet hotel except service dogs PERIOD!!! No way a few schnauzers are service dogs if your read the ADA definition of a "service" dog!! If people sneak in pets then the hotel does not disinfect the room as they do after a service dog. For hotels that continue to ignore their own policies I will quit using them! read more

Pretty spacious hotel for my family and I (4 of us!). There was a lot more space than I expected and we appreciated how the lobby area had so many seats for us to sit around. This was a great Courtyard by Marriott. Nice clean suites, great front desk help, loved the bar downstairs, and the little breakfast bar has the best avocado toast with Arugula and a tomato compote that I think I've ever had! And you really can't go too wrong when you are 5 miles from the beach in beautiful San Luis Obispo. Boy do I miss the California beaches, now that we live in Tennessee. I'm sorry, but North Carolina, Florida, and Alabama beaches may be pretty (not so much...LOL), but, the water and the outdoor temperature is just too damn stifling to be able to enjoy being out there. I'd much rather throw on a windbreaker or hoodie and hang out on the beach and enjoy my time (in worst case Senarios, than to sweat to death, like I have in those other locations...though I do have to admit, Florida does have some gorgeous beaches, I just like them better in the winter instead of the summer...but that's just me, and I admit, I'm a little strange...LOL! read more

Amazing gem in the SLO wine country. Great prices and quality property. The new GM Chelsea really makes it even better (she's not afraid to take on any task while on site) and is very proud of her work and property. Pool is very nice and the views are spectacular of the hillside/horses and nature. They have a great breakfast + bar and bistro for evenings. Minutes from wineries and the beauty of pismo Beach, morro Bay and Avila Beach. I do hope to come again read more

Find a different hotel, unless you sleep soundly and almost nothing wakes you up. The walls are thin, & the ceilings are thin. Now there's construction at 7:15am. Oh, and our suite doesn't have a door, it's a generous sized room with a couch. The bistro menu looks good, the room is clean. If you are platinum you may have to ask 2-3 times for your upgrades, don't give up. read more

Possibly one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hotel. Staff was rude. Rooms are worn out. They charge for parking in an area that has more room than South Dakota. This looks like a normal Courtyard Marriott. It feels like a normal Courtyard Marriott.  But it doesn't sound like one. The ceilings are so thin that if there's someone booked in the room above you, every step is like, "Fee Fi Fo Fum." Also, there's this weird humming sound that happens every 5 or so minutes.  Quite annoying if trying to sleep. And if you think I'm one of these sensitive sleepers, I actually sleep fine at home and I live near an airport! Also, from a location perspective, you're pretty far aways from downtown SLO.  You get 101N and have to go several exits before you get to downtown... where the food is at because unlike all other Marriotts, Platinum Elite Members do not get complimentary breakfast. I've stayed almost exclusively at Marriott hotels for the majority of my life. From San Diego to Oahu, I always find the quality consistent. However, this hotel did not meet Marriott's standards. I was given a king size room on the first floor and when I walked in, there was a shared door. Throughout the night, I could hear everything my neighbor did. While he was on the phone, I heard his entire conversation including the other person on the phone who was not on speaker. In addition, every time the person above me took a step, my entire wall next to my bed would vibrate and shake. It was very hard to relax so I tried to change rooms but the front desk clerk told me that they were completely sold out. He told me they had over rooms available but couldn't give me someone else's room because they'd have no one to clean mine. There was no compensation or gesture on their end to remedy the situation. This hotel is expensive (greater than $250 a night) and absolutely not worth the cost. read more
