The hotel staff was so friendly and professional. I had only 2 suggestions for the management. It was dark at the entrance. We arrived at night and wished if a light was added for safety. In the morning, there was an odor like an oriental market, which we couldn't tell from where. Other than that, Bistro Cafe was delicious. Both the front desk clerks who checked us in and out were super friendly, as well as the night auditor.

Had the best experience and time at this Marriott location! I was in town for the weekend visiting a friend and had a unique request ( a framed picture of Alfonso Ribeiro doing The Carlton dance). Marriott delivered and provided myself and family with the best laugh. Staff were amazing and friendly, special thanks to Hannah for getting the request together! I will for sure be coming back!

Had another chance to stay at this courtyard with a trip from SoCal to NorCal. Booked it last minute and got in around midnight. So since only doing a quick sleepover and back on road can only mention a few thing The night staff was very helpful and supporting for a quick check in. The room was very comforting after a long holiday traffic drive. Clean , well stocked and for me at a temperate which was good ( basically not too hot as I could sleep in a frig. as I like it cold ) . Really like using this Marriott especially for my quick stop overs , I have found the price is not beatable. Only slight negative point and this goes for many Marriott, cost of parking. I really don't mind parking fee, but at a courtyard that has uncovered , not secured parking at 15/night, seems steep. Never any problems with parking just the principal that you pay to stay But please enjoy this hotel , worth a stay if in SLO and looking for a hotel

Gotta love a hotel with a full bar and a hot tub :) helpful staff and they even have a little toy basket at the front desk for the kiddos

It's…read morehonestly up there with one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at with the exception of ONE thing. The European lights. What on earth. They were just a little bit unnecessary, in my personal opinion, unless it's some sort of money saver and in that case I get it. With that being said, it was a hiccup compared to my overall stay, which was incredible. I booked with an outside website and when I arrived at 9:30 pm they did not have my reservation on file. I was having a day already and this set me over the top. I was not super nice to the front desk staff, it was late, I had driven from San Diego, I was exhausted and starving and I kept showing them my reservation receipt e-mail frustrated. Then I started crying, it was embarrassing guys. The woman at the front desk was SO NICE TO ME. I thought she was going to start crying when I was crying. I was venting to her about a guy and she was so empathetic. It was a wild couple of moments. The other woman who went in the back to speak with the manager came back out and said that although they couldn't find the reservation at that moment she was going to find me a room and upgrade me for my inconvenience and put me in a suite. That was so over the top generous. Then she handed me a bottle of wine for my inconvenience. I don't drink but it was seriously the sweetest gesture. I was not inconvenience these people at the front desk, I cannot say enough nice things about how this situation was handled. The bellhop brought my luggage up to my room for me. When I walked into the room my jaw dropped. The room was unbelievable. Massive entryway, enormous room, most comfortable bed, huge balcony with a massive bed couch outside, bathroom was insane. It was seriously perfect and over the top. They had complimentary snacks and water. They had a stunning bar and restaurant in the lobby with a huge fireplace. The pool was dreamy. The hallways were huge, it was luxurious. It was one of the most luxury stays I've ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough. Walking distance to everything. Thank you for being so great!

We checked in around 6pm on a week day and booked a fire place room (room 8). We had no issues checking in and I love how cozy the hotel is. It had a feel of a small, personal hotel which I loved over these big hotel chains. The price was also very fair per night. The room: extremely large and clean. I loved the fire place although it got pretty hot pretty quickly. This would be perfect for the winter! I liked it just because there's something about having a fire place that just makes the room much more cozy. Amenities: The hotel delivers breakfast every morning around 7am with local black coffee and two pastries. We were also very pleasantly surprised to see they have an EV charger. It's $2 per hour which is fair. Charges about 6kwH (even though the charger says 8kW per hour). The good thing is when the charges cut out occasionally, it didn't charge me for that time. Was able to charge fully on my Tesla Y from 10% to 80% for like $14. They also have local Kombucha which you can ask for at the front desk. You can also keep the bags that come with the breakfast which is an awesome momento! Feedback to the hotel: I didn't take any stars off because it's not really a negative but just something you can improve on. We did have really noisy guests next door some back late at night (likely inebriated) but the walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything even people just walking up the stairs to their rooms. It woke us up and made it hard to fall back asleep. We could also hear the laundry machines or something rumbling in the middle of the night as well. Moreover, the sink stopped draining in the bathroom which we told the front desk at checkout and they were appreciative of the feedback. Overall, my wife and I loved this hotel. the rooms were lovely and cozy. It was so awesome they had EV charges which saved me so much time having to run to a super charger. Service was amazing as well. Would definitely stay here again when visiting SLO.

Unfortunately, this stay just wasn't up to the standard I've come to expect. Check-in was quick and easy, and our suite was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. One surprise was being charged to park in an open parking lot. I wish that had been disclosed upfront. We were staying three nights as a family of six, yet the body wash dispenser in our room was less than one-eighth full when we arrived. We figured it would be an easy fix, but after my kids went to the front desk, housekeeping brought a shampoo bottle that was less than half full--and no body wash or conditioner. That meant another trip to the front desk just to get basic amenities. The pool is usually one of my favorite parts of staying at Embassy Suites, but this one was disappointing. There was debris floating in the water and visible junk on the bottom of the pool. It honestly looked like it needed a good cleaning. Breakfast was where things really went downhill. My 12-year-old daughter ordered a spinach omelet and found a green beetle about the size of a dime cooked into it. When my wife brought it to the staff's attention, one cook actually commented that it "didn't look cooked." My wife pointed out that not only was it cooked, it was greasy from the oil used to prepare the omelet. Thankfully, another cook stepped in, apologized sincerely, and handled the situation professionally. It also appeared they may have been short-staffed. Around 5:30 a.m. when I left for work, there were still empty beer bottles and cups sitting around the atrium from the night before. One area where the hotel absolutely deserves praise is housekeeping. They did an outstanding job. Every day I returned from work, the room was spotless and well cared for. They were easily the highlight of our stay. The evening hospitality reception was also a bit underwhelming. It consisted of the same tortilla chips, salsa, snack mix, and cheese cubes each night. I've stayed at other Embassy Suites that offered fresh vegetable trays with ranch and a better variety of snacks. Overall, there were definitely some positives, but unfortunately more negatives than I'm used to experiencing at Embassy Suites. I know this brand can do much better, which made this stay especially disappointing. I'm hoping this was just an off week because this isn't the Embassy Suites experience I've come to expect.
